Story
Meet Ranger! This affectionate pup is a true family dog, getting along wonderfully with children and plays great with other dogs. Ranger is an absolute sweetheart. He behaves well on a leash, but can get very excited getting ready for a walk. He is crate trained and house trained, very well-behaved, and will let you know when he has a need for food, water, bathroom breaks, or when he just needs a little extra love. He loves spending time outdoors, and he can get bored if he's left alone inside and may confuse a pillow for a chew toy. He has a passion for running and playing fetch, though he likes to hold onto the ball for a bit before giving it back. He adores children, there is a 6 year old girl who gives him his food every day and he would love nothing more than to snuggle up with you! He loves all the ear scratches, belly rubs, and pets you can offer. He is a very loving boy and will bring heaps of love and companionship to your home! He/she is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Welcome Zara to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 1-year old Lab mix dog. She is about 40 pounds and looks like a good weight. She is decent on the leash and good with other dogs. She does do her business outside on a schedule here at the rescue. She is a little shy and when scared has the reflex to run. She would do best with a person or family that is more of a family that likes time at home and isn’t the type that has lots of social gatherings and wants their dog to go many places like Starbucks etc. She would be perfectly content being a companion for a more stay home family. She would be fine with children or a cat. She was with Sam here at the rescue which is the Rescue cat. She is fully vaccinated, spayed and healthy and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. She is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Picasso to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2 year old Lab/Rottie or Shepherd mix. He is 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. He is good on a leash and friendly with other dogs. He loves water and loves to play in the hose water when the kennel is being cleaned. He loves his kennel and will stay in it even when the door is open. He met Apple and Serenity while on leash and was not leash reactive. He was all smiles and tails wagging. He is vaccinated and neutered and looking for his forever home. He would be fine as a family pet. We like the children to be 8 or older. The nice thing about an adult dog is their personality is formed and you know what you are getting. He has some skills like kennel training and leash walking. We know he isn’t leash reactive and was friendly when meeting new dogs. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Story
Welcome Cowboy to CCPAL Foster Program. Cowboy is an 6-month old pup. He has an adorable and large head. I call these man dogs because my husband loves them. He weighs about 37 pounds now but we think will be 50 full grown. He is a Lab/Staffie or Pittien or maybe Rottie is our guess. He does know the sit command and is attentive when you are directing him. He has a nice amount of attention and it is not too short but he can hold it while you work with him. He is adorable, affectionate and has the cute wrinkles on his forehead that make him look concerned. He has brown eyes and a little white patch on his chin that look like a milk beard. He is the typical puppy and is energetic, inquisitive and in need of direction. He is willing to learn and takes direction well. He already knows the sit command. He has a lower or shorter coat and not a big shedding dog. He would be great for an active outdoorsy type family. Now he will settle down and his energy is not over the top. It is a good amount of energy for an 8-month old puppy. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered soon and ready for his forever home. He is good in car rides, good with cats and decent on a leash. He is fine in a crate and moderately vocal and will use his voice to get attention. He would be fine with children. He is not overly mouthy. We like the children to be 8 or older. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Welcome Petey to CCPAL Foster Program. He is a 6-month old Lab/Black Mouth Cur puppy. He weighs about 45 pounds and is a wonderful puppy. His foster mom has enrolled him in doggy daycare and he is wonderful in daycare. He gets along great with other dogs. He is in foster care with cats and all his time around them is supervised. He has done fine with the cats. He is also a part of a training group and works to learn the basic commands. He is potty trained, good on a leash, doesn’t jump up, knows sit and is good in a crate. This puppy is very well rounded. He naturally bonds deep to his family and may be protective of his family. He is very very friendly to strangers and takes direction easily and well. He has a great attention span. He will make some lucky family a great companion. He would be best with a more active family over a couch potato type. He would be great with another dog or he could go as an only pup. He does love play time with other dogs. He would be a great pup with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Story
Gucci is a lab/boxer mix, he is approx 6 months old and 22 lbs, he will probably be in the 40 to 50 lb range when fully grown. He is one of a litter of puppies rescued from a known dumping ground in Houston TX. Gucci is a typical puppy, he loves to run and play in the yard. Gucci gets along with the other rescue dogs. He is not yet fully house or leash/harness trained, but he is very smart and learns very quickly. He is a little on the shy side with people but will always run up for a treat! Gucci is a very handsome boy with beautiful markings and he has a very nice disposition. He will be a great family dog and companion. He would be a great dog for hiking or the dog park. Gucci must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and he must have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Gucci is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Gucci's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Glastonbury, Danbury, or Lisbon CT. Gucci is with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. Story
Sabine is a beautiful, young Boxer/Labrador Retriever mix (based on a DNA test) around 1 year of age and weighing ca. 70 pounds. She was found bedded down in the grass on the side of a country highway waiting for the return of the people that had dumped her. After posting on social media, it was discovered that she had given birth to 10 puppies at a nearby house. We took them all. The puppies have all found homes and now mom is ready for her forever home. Sabine is still a bit of a puppy herself. She is crate-trained and generally has good house manners for her age. She can sit, walk on a leash, ride well in a car, and comes when called. She is affectionate and loves attention and pets. Sabine currently lives in a foster home with other dogs of all ages and sizes. She likes to play fetch and tug of war with rope toys and likes to wrestle and roughhouse with her dog friends. Sabine has more to learn. She will need additional training and regular socialization. Sabine loves affection and is looking for the security of a forever family where she can live inside and be a true part of the family, never to be abandoned again. She would enjoy a fenced yard and an active family that will take her on hikes or walks to get the exercise and experiences she needs. Sabine is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. She is ready to go, patiently waiting for the right someone to choose her. Sabine is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to whichever stop is closest to you.
