If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Baby Margot (MAR0724ALAFD) Estimated Breed:  Mastiff mixApproximate Age:  10 weeksApproximate Weight:  15-20 lbs Currently Living at:  Foster  Adoption Fee:  $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet Baby Margot! Margot came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama along with her four siblings. Margot has landed in a nice foster home, but what she really wants is a loving forever home of her own. Could that be with you? Margot is your typical playful, friendly puppy. She is very sweet and loves to be around other dogs. At Margot's young age, she is in her prime for training and socialization. She will grow to be a wonderful companion for many years to come. Please remember that young babies require a lot of time, love, and patience to become the best doggie citizens they can be. Margot will make a great addition to an active home. Submit an application today and change this sweet girl's life forever! ‍Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. Story
I adopted Hugo almost 10 years ago as a very sick 2yo pup and I nursed back to health. He's silly, sweet, and loves the outdoors. He is reactive around other animals but very good with humans of all sizes. Looking to find him a new home since our growing family has become more demanding and were not able to give him the attention he deserves. He's about 85 lbs with a big mastiff head and solid stout body. Happy to share any additional details and medical records.

Story
Gozey is such a sweet girl! She is a little over a year old. We hate that we have to find a new home for her but my child has developed a skin allergy to her. She is house and crate trained. Gozey loves other dogs. She would really thrive in a home that has another dog or can have her around other dogs often. She is great with kids. I have 2 toddlers and she is very gentle with them. She has been to obedience training but is still young so she will need ongoing basic training at home. She does very well on a leash and recalls easily with a beep collar.

Name:  Meatball       Best Guess for Breed:  Mastiff mix  Best Guess for Age:  4 years as of July 2024     Gender:  Male Approximate Weight:  74 lbs  Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested Currently Living At: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here after completing heartworm treatment! Special Adoption Considerations: Meatball is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Meatball is Looking For:   First, let us tell you about Meatball's previous chapter. His owner passed away. The family came into town, cleared out the house, put Meatball outside, and left. Neighbors noticed he was still there after a while, living under the porch, and called.  Meatball has firmly closed that chapter and is eager for his next one, where he is once again be in a loving home. This big sweetie is looking forward to sniffy walks and exploring the world with his new humans. And just looking at them adoringly, knowing he is safe and under his own roof, knowing where he belongs. he promises loving, loyal companionship for all his days.   Is Meatball the steady presence you can see by your side? Are you the soft landing he deserves? Story
https://foha.org/pet/queen2023/ All hail me, Queen! My name is Queen, and I am a beautiful, super-sized pup with something of a regal flair. Being outdoors is where I truly come alive, and I absolutely adore going for walks. In fact, I can never get enough of them! Walking on a leash is second nature to me, and I'm always up for an adventure. Hiking is one of my absolute favorite activities, and I make a fantastic companion on those long, winding trails. There's something about the woods and parks that captivates me, and I relish the opportunity to explore nature's wonders. Splashing my paws in the streams and taking in all the different scents is pure bliss. Oh, and let's not forget my special talent for rolling in the grass-I just can't resist! Traveling in the car is a breeze for me, and I'm always on my best behavior. During the ride, you might find me gazing out the window, observing the world passing by, or chewing on a delicious treat to otherwise occupy my time. Even after a lengthy walk, I still have energy to spare. Spending time in the play yard, chasing balls, and simply hanging out with my favorite people is my idea of a good time. Now, when it comes to training, I'm highly motivated by treats. However, I could use some patient and consistent guidance from an owner who is experienced and familiar with my breed. I'm incredibly smart and eager to learn, although I must admit, sometimes I like to believe I'm the one in charge. With the right approach, I know I can become an obedient and well-trained companion. Given my size and enthusiastic approach to life, I'd be more successful with a dog closer to my size. And I would need proper introductions to make sure we're a good match! Additionally, a household without children would be most suitable for me. I thrive in an environment where I can be the center of attention and receive the love and care I deserve. If you're looking for a majestic and spirited canine companion who will make your outdoor adventures even more memorable, then I'm your girl. Together, we can conquer the world, one walk at a time. To make an appointment to meet me, please fill out an application (no obligation). Thanks for looking and hope to see you soon!
