Story
To learn more about Pepper, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Pepper will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Pepper is a snuggle bug who is content taking long naps on the couch and big sniffs in the backyard. She’s curious, relatively calm, and just interested in checking out whatever surrounds her. Pepper would be interested in learning new tricks or meeting your furry friends! Even though she’s pretty much still a puppy, you don’t need to worry about any crazy antics! As long as she gets to come along for the ride and hang out with you wherever you go, she’s just a super sweet companion. She’s quite the chiller and eager to snuggle up and be cozy with her new family.

Name:   Lucy        Best Guess for Breed:  Pointer and basset hound mix  Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of February 2025       Gender:  Female Approximate Weight:   44 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them. Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment  Special Adoption Considerations: Lucy is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Lucy is Looking For: Her forever home! Lucy did an amazing job of raising her babies Rand, Rek, Rookie, Rosie, Rucker, and Russ to be amazing family pets, and they're off to their own homes. Now Lucy wants to love and be loved by her own family To have her own humans to trot alongside on long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up.  Lucy has so many adoring gazes and happy tail wags and all the loyalty in her heart to lavish upon her humans. What do you say? Is this stubby-legged sweetie the one you see by your side? KENTUCKY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!Name:  Kentucky       Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer and lab mix Best Guess for Age:  3 years 6 mos as of February 2024   Gender:    Male Approximate Weight:    51 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids. Kentucky is a bit too interested in his feline friends so a home without cats is best. Currently Living At: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Kentucky is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! Kentucky is Looking For: His forever family! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Overall, Kentucky is a very sweet, loving and good boy. He is very high energy, playful, a little clumsy and a giant goofball but he loves affection and attention, loves being outside, and loves being near me. He is still getting used to walking on leash. He is very food motivated and loves to play with toys - he has gotten along great with another dog in the home.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
My name is Robbie and I am puppy at heart and only 6 months old.  My pictures make me look big but ready I am not big at all. I only weigh 35 pounds at 6 months and they say I will be 65-70- pounds as an adult.  I LUV KIDS!   My heart leaps for joy when I See children that I can play with and love on.  I am a boy that loves to run fast and for a little bit of time too.  I need not only physical Exercise but also some fun games and training games to help my smart brain feel challenged too.  I need a fenced yard and someone To help share playtime and games with me sometimes.  I could use the company of another dog as well to help me with the physical Playtime outside and also to keep me active with socialization with other dogs.   We think that Robbie has some Pointer in him since He raises once leg and seems to point quite often during this outside playtime.  He is alert and very smart.   He walks pretty well on a leash and he is curious to learn more things about life.  He is not inside a lot so we would have to say that he could be housebroken fast if given some one on one Attention and training.  This boy is good with cats, dogs and adores children.  He never meets a stranger and he will needs a fenced yard To best live within safely and to run and play for long hours if the weather is good.  We want a wonderful dog savvy and loving family for Robbie.   He will be a 65 pounds boy when fully grown we think.   If you are interested in knowing more about Robbie please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live.  We transport from Nashville, TN where we are based and we travel to the Northeastern region as well with our pre-adopted dogs.   Thank you for considering this precious boy   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
Kimberly is the cutest, cuddliest, most loving dog you will ever get the honor of adopting! She is house-trained, is not destructive in the home, and knows a host of commands including sit, down, place, paw, off, heel, and come, and has mastered a variety of different agility courses. All of this is a testament to Kimberly's keen intelligence and desire to please. A family or person who can reinforce this good behavior and continue on this positive path, would be ideal. Kimberly has energy that is suited for enjoying the great outdoors but she is also happy just cuddling all day long. She will greet you whenever you come home with the wiggliest of butts and bring you all her favorite toys - always giving you something to look forward to! With proper introductions, such as parallel walks, Kimberly enjoys the company of most dogs. To that end, she may not be an ideal match for a very high-energy or exuberant dog but, otherwise, would likely do well in a multi-pet household. Similarly, Kimberly enjoys meeting adults and would likely be better suited in a home with patient, older children. Lastly, in addition to her intelligence and loving nature, Kimberly is a nice size, truly adorable, and has the most soulful eyes. A true trifecta! Thank you for your interest in Kimberly! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=17089 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Kimberly, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.
