Meet Dexter! Dexter is an 8 yr old Shih Tzu who came to us after his dad had to move into memory care at an assisted living facility. We have a soft spot for dogs whose person has either passed away or had to move into assisted living, so once we became aware of his situation we just knew we had to help! Dexter didn’t miss a beat settling into his foster home. He’s a super chill guy who gets along great with other dogs and even cats. Since he had been living at least the last few years just him and his dad, though, Dexter really enjoys the company of his person more than anything else so he would also be just fine as an only fur child. He truly loves humans companionship and will do best with someone who is going to be home a lot or that will take him with them on outings - he’s a great car rider! I adopted my Oliver from his first owner (a college girl) who raised from baby when she was in college. She rehomed when she wanted to move away from city for her work. She does not know how Oliver have the habit of biting any when he is touched. He is taking daily a tablet (recommended by his pet doctor) daily for his anger issue to calm down. Oliver loves and follows one owner in the family and try his best to protect that person. Follows and tries to stay within 10 feet from that dog parent always. Does not like to be tied. He does whining throughout the time being tied and settle down. He understands all instructions and try his best to follow. He does not run away from home; follows the owner back inside home when taken out for walking or for his natural needs to front or back yard. When anyone touches his body behind or anyone has things in hand and try to tie leash on his collar, he is afraid that things may fallen on him. He is a happy dog.

Several years ago a good samaritan in Nashville saved me, I was running down the road. She took me in for 3 years, but couldn't afford to take me to the vet. I developed skin and ear issues so she reached out for someone to take me, and here I am getting the health care I need and responding very well. Yes I'm mostly blind, but I'm a gentle fellow that enjoys being petted. I could spend the day sitting on a lap being company and enjoying a persons company. I'm quiet and I would be fine in a small home with a small fenced yard because I love to sit in the sun and snooze.

Are you looking for a companion, a lap dog? A pup that wants to be by your side and snuggle when it’s cold? Then look no further because here I am! My name is Willow Rae, and I was a momma dog to 5 puppies that were delivered in Angels’ care. I was pulled from a shelter when I was pregnant, and I delivered and cared for my babies. They were all adopted, but now it’s my turn for a forever home. I am a Shih-Tzu mix, and I am soft as can be. I will require grooming from time to time as my hair will get a little out of control if not trimmed every few months. If you keep me brushed, my fur will stay untangled. I am about six years old, and I have severe cataracts…so much so that I do not have much eyesight. But I do navigate around all by myself! I see shadows and movement, so I have figured out how to get around my foster home and love to sleep with my foster mommy. I usually sleep by her legs, so I am not right in anyone’s face, but I do love human companionship. I get along with my foster brothers and sisters but do not need another dog in my new home. I like to get all the attention. Young kids are probably not a good fit since I do not see so well. I do not navigate stairs, so I either need a ranch home or someone that is willing to take me up and down the stairs. I am very quiet…my foster mom has only heard me bark once! I am not fully house-trained and will use pee pads. I do need some work on learning to go outside to go potty. Murphy was born 9/4/24. He is the sweetest boy who loves toys and playing tug of war. He is excellent with children! He will probably weigh 12 to 15 lbs as an adult. He was surrendered from a store that closed in New York. There are no known health issues. Adoption fee is 950.00. He needs work on house training. Located in the south.
