Story
Please meet Augie. He is such a calm, sweet guy. He NEEDS a home. He is so gentle that he just doesn't do well in a rescue situation. It can be a foster home or a forever home. But a home he needs! He has gained some weight in rescue but with regular walks and outings, I am sure he will get back to a good weight. He does well with other dogs but he prefers to just stay out of trouble and clear of hoopla! I just know he would LOVE to have someone to spend time with him. Doesn't need much...just some love. If you think Augie might work in your life, please text your interest to be sent on online application form or print your own from the Forms section at wrenyorkierescue.org as well as reading the “how it works” section to understand the Rescue process. Again, even a foster would be wonderful! As a foster, if you live near the rescue, we will supply his food. Thanks for considering sweet Augie.

Story
SEPT 2024: Miss Tazzie is a very affectionate & companionable girl who likes to keep her person in sight at all times-i.e. she will follow whenever her person moves into another room or outside, and becomes quite vocal when left behind; also VERY vocal with pleasure at her person’s return, only quieting down once her person enters the home, sits down & says SHUSH. For this reason TAZ needs a detached home with yards, rather than an apartment building, and preferably another canine housemate to play with; If you can provide a suitable environment for a dog with vocal separation anxiety, please revisit Wrenyorkierescue.org & read the “how it works” section to understand the Rescue process, or text the number below to request a fill-in-online application if you don’t have a printer.

Story
This is our sweet Jessy. She has been with us for a while because she is old and almost blind. Even though she is adorable, we know she doesn't have the best figure or eyesight. But to us, at the rescue, she has the BEST personality. She is always in the middle of everything, enjoying herself and asking for attention and love. Basically, hope in the form of a dog!!!! She knows her way around the entire rescue facility...stairs and all! We all want her to have a home...foster or adoption. We believe she will get to know your home because her spirit will force her too!!!! But probably best to not have too many stairs. You aren't getting a young dog, but, you are getting a few good years with a SWEET dog! We hope you consider Jessy and give us a call at the number below. We will walk you thru the foster or adoption process. Thank you for considering Jessy!

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650 *Paris is an option for Foster-to-Adopt!* Meet Paris – A Mama Ready for Her Own Love Story! Paris has done the hard work of raising her puppies, and now it’s her turn to find the perfect forever home! This sweet 2 year old Yorkie-Jack Russell Terrier mix is a gentle, loving companion who is blossoming more each day. Paris starts her mornings with a stroll and breakfast before settling in for a quiet day at home while her foster parent is at work. She’s adjusting to alone time and spends her afternoons napping. Once her person is home, it’s time for another walk, errands, dinner, and cuddle time before she curls up on the bed for the night. While Paris can be a little shy in new situations, she warms up quickly and wants to love everyone. She’s curious but cautious—stopping to observe the world around her, from bicycles to mirrors. She’s not a clingy Velcro dog, but she does love to snuggle on the couch when she’s in the mood. Paris is fully house-trained and a great walking buddy! She’s still learning leash manners (sometimes she zigzags to sniff all the exciting smells), but she enjoys her outings. She’s met other dogs in public and seems most interested in adult dogs her size. We recently introduced her to a friend’s dog, and she did well! With slow introductions, she could absolutely share her home with a canine companion. Like the city she’s named after, Paris is full of charm and elegance, with just the right amount of spunk. She would love to go to work with her future person—she’s quiet, well-mannered, and happy to nap the day away in an office or dog-friendly space. She’s also the perfect pup for an apartment or condo, as she doesn’t need a yard to thrive, just daily strolls and love. Paris isn’t just named after the City of Lights—she’ll light up your life with her sweet nature, loving eyes, and growing confidence. She’s learning to embrace the world one step at a time, and with a little patience and encouragement, she’ll soon be as dazzling as the Eiffel Tower at night. Are you ready to fall in love? Because Paris is always a good idea! Ready to meet Paris? She’s waiting for her happily ever after!March 15, 2025, 8:58 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650 Tony the Tiger – He’s Grrrrreat (and Looking for His Forever Home!) At just 10 months old and weighing 8.3lbs, Tony the Tiger isn’t quite the king of the jungle—but he is the ruler of the nearest available lap! This pint-sized cuddle champion was surrendered to our rescue when his owners moved, and while he may have lost his first home, he’s ready to pounce (gently) into his forever one. Tony isn’t ferocious—unless you count his unwavering determination to get snacks—but he is grrrrreat at snuggling, lounging, and making you laugh with his quirky little mohawk and radar-sized ears. Tony’s day starts like any good house tiger—patiently waiting in his crate for freedom, then immediately embarking on a grand morning adventure (aka: a potty break, followed by breakfast in a snuffle mat or wobble kong). If there’s a car ride involved, he’s thrilled to be your co-pilot. Otherwise, he’s content to trot around the block before settling into his throne (a.k.a. a dog bed or your lap) for some serious lounging. He’s got just enough energy to make you think, Wow, this guy is fun! before reminding you, Actually, I’m more of a professional lap-warmer. Now, let’s talk personality. When Tony first arrived, he barked some—presumably trying to tell us something very important, like stock market predictions or the secrets of the universe. Turns out, he just wanted a cuddle or a snack. Now that he’s settled in, he’s much more chill, barking minimal. He’s independent enough to hang out solo but has an uncanny ability to detect when a lap has formed. Seriously, if you crouch to tie your shoes, he’s in your lap faster than you can say “Tony the Tiger.” He’s a cuddle connoisseur, snuggling right into your neck like a tiny, warm scarf. Tony’s leash skills? Grrrreat! He walks politely, doesn’t chase squirrels (but does watch them with deep suspicion), and has a recall so sharp he might secretly be a boomerang. He’s also a certified Good Boy™ when it comes to manners—no chewing, digging, or excessive barking. He does have opinions about dinner, though. If he sees you cooking and you’re not sharing, expect a strongly worded woof in protest. And while he’s mostly house-trained, he’s still working on those last few accidents—because hey, even jungle cats have off days. Tony would fit into just about any home—as long as his people appreciate a snuggle buddy who doesn’t demand constant attention but will absolutely claim their lap. He’s cool with kids, enjoys other dogs as he has always lived with them, and is fine with a moderately active family (though if you’re looking for a long-distance hiking partner, you’d better be prepared to carry him when he gets tired). His ideal humans will appreciate his chill yet affectionate vibe, his hilarious expressions, and his complete inability to resist an available lap. If you’re looking for a dog who’s part cuddly companion, part comedy act, and 100% lovable, Tony the Tiger is ready to steal your heart—and your couch space. Don’t miss out on adopting this grrrreat little guy! March 15, 2025, 3:55 am

Fresh out of the snack aisle and into your heart, the Munchie Litter is here to bring you all the joy of a late-night treat—without the calories! These four tiny, crunchy, and oh-so-sweet pups are looking for their forever homes. At just 10 weeks old and weighing between 5-7 lbs, they are the perfect bite-sized companions, and each one brings a little something different to the table. Graham Cracker – The Fearless Leader The only girl in the bunch, Graham Cracker is the queen of confidence. She’s got the brains, the bravery, and just the right amount of sweetness. If there’s an adventure to be had, she’s leading the charge! Whether it’s chasing after our Frenchie or outsmarting her humans (which she does regularly), Graham Cracker is one smart cookie. Kettle Corn – The Perfect Blend Sweet, salty, and just the right amount of pop—Kettle Corn is the best of both worlds. He’s playful but loves a good snuggle, making him the ultimate all-around pup. He’s never met a toy he didn’t like or a lap he didn’t want to nap on. If you’re looking for a puppy who can keep up with your energy but also melt into a cuddle puddle, Kettle Corn is your guy. M&M – The Cuddle Monster Melts in your arms, not in your hands! M&M is the fluffiest and cuddliest of the bunch, and his main goal in life is to be as close to you as possible. He loves playing with his siblings but would happily trade playtime for lap time. If you need a snuggle buddy who also enjoys a little bit of fun, M&M is the treat you’ve been craving! Chex Mix – The Underdog Turned Champion Chex Mix started out as the little guy, and while he’s still the smallest of the crew, his confidence has skyrocketed! He’s mellow, easygoing, and totally fascinated by our Frenchie. He’s a lower-energy pup who enjoys a good romp but is just as happy to lounge the day away. If you’re looking for a snack-sized best friend with a chill vibe, Chex Mix is your match. Life with the Munchie Litter: These pups start their day bright and early, ready for breakfast and some morning zoomies. They adore their foster siblings (especially the resident Frenchie) and enjoy playtime, exploring, and chewing on their favorite toys. While they’re still working on potty training, they’re great with pee pads. M&M is the most vocal when he wants attention, while the others save their barks for important things—like breakfast time. Their Ideal Homes: Graham Cracker & Kettle Corn: Perfect for an active family, especially one with kids who want a playful, fun-loving pup. M&M: A lap dog in the making! He’d thrive in a home where someone is around often to soak up all the love he has to give. Chex Mix: A laid-back, easygoing home would suit him best. He’d be the perfect buddy for someone looking for a more relaxed companion. These pups are sweeter than a snack aisle haul, and their foster family will miss them dearly! If you’re looking for a little munchie to brighten your days, one of these four might just be your perfect match. Warning: Side effects of adopting a Munchie Litter pup may include excessive smiling, increased belly rub requests, and a lifetime of love.March 15, 2025, 7:30 pm
