Beau the beautiful has got an A++ on just about everything. He will steal your heart the second you look into those big brown eyes! House trained ✅ does his business outside, is calm and collected in the house no need for a crate. Sleeps through the night. Beau is a couch/bed kind of dog... LOVES HIS CUDDLES and just wants to be right by your side. So preferably someone who doesn't mind sharing their couch for the best snuggles you'll ever get! People friendly ✅ is great with anyone even kids. Other pets: Beau is playful and friendly with bigger dogs but still may need to be the only one in the home. Possible meet and greet. Small dogs he doesn't seem to mind but not introduced enough to tell. Cats ❌ Car rides ✅ great in the car, loves the windows! Walks✅ a dream to walk, will stay right by your side. He loves to play and will require someone to be active with him daily. Great at fetch and bringing the ball back! Grooming/feeding✅✅ eats great, stays relaxed in the tub for a bath. Overall Beau is such a sweetheart. Is attentive and will follow you around. Very loyal and loving. Equal parts playful and relaxed. So, if you are in need of a walking buddy or someone to cuddle up and watch some holiday movies with Beau is the one. ❤️🐾

Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Cagney on Adopt-a-pet. Cagney came in as a stray with her pal Lacey. Cagney is more confident of herself in new situations and people than her friend Lacey, but she does have some anxiety in the kennel and will sing you the songs of her people. She loves to play with toys (especially squeaky ones!) and likes to show you the toy she has got. She does a cute little roll onto her back to wiggle around with her prize. Cagney is a little love bug and thinks she can get up in your lap just like Lacey does. Cagney has not been a fan of other dogs here, other than her bestie Lacey who she gets along great with. Unknown cat behavior. Please call first. I'm enjoying my visit at my fosters home.

Story
Hi my name is Darla! My foster parent says I`m a very cuddly and friendly girl; my big ears are like a radar for finding new friends! I like to go for long walks to get all of the ` doggie news` via interesting smells. I can be pretty energetic, but that should be expected from a young lady like me. Once I get my fill, I take nice big naps just like the rest of them! If you have a dog already who you would like me to be siblings with, I would need to meet them first to make sure we get along. Some dogs can intimidate me, but I am working on understanding that dogs can be my friend. I would absolutely love to meet you!`Have you ever thought about adding an addition to your family like a cat, dog etc.? If so, would you want a hamster, guinea pig, dog, cat, or something else? Would you want a cuddly or hyper pet? Would you like to take naps, play, cuddle? If the answers were a dog, cuddly pet, and yes then Darla’s a great choice! You should adopt Darla because… First a lot of people love cuddling. Do you? Well, Darla does and she’ll cuddle with you every day and that`s fun. Secondly she loves naps and she will definitely nap with you if you want and I’m sure you`ll have fun. Finally she`s loving and just wants a family that loves her. In conclusion you should adopt Darla from the humane society.` - written by a 4th Grader at Eberwhite ElementaryDarla is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Story
Gopher is a handsome, easy going dog looking for a soft sofa he can spend his days on. He is a low to medium energy boy that loves to be with his people and snuggle on the couch in the evenings. He is always up for an adventure, and enjoys walks where he can spend time sniffing all the wonderful smells he can find outside. He likes people, and we haven`t noticed any negative reactions on walks. He is crate and house trained and knows some commands, but is learning more in his foster home.`If you want an amazing dog, then Gopher is a good choice! He is house trained and he loves sniffing the amazing smells on walks. He is a terrier pit bull mix. He is one year old and he is a boy. He likes peanut butter and he loves to sleep on couches and takes naps so if your couch is comfy this is the dog for you. He loves walks.` - written by a 4th grader at Wines ElementaryGopher is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes! Adopting from foster is easy. Look at that face, isn’t he cute!? Cactus is almost 3 years old. He knows basic commands and is house trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the whole night. Once he gets to know you, he’s a giant cuddle bug and ready for his forever home!Cactus is a very happy guy who just wants to be by your side. He loves walks, an occasional jog, and playing with his toys, especially his tug-of-war ropes and stuffed animals.Cactus knows quite a few words like sit, paw, down, crate, stay, gentle, wait, turn (on walks I use “turn” to let him know we’re changing direction), walk, outside, bedtime, and his favorite: treats. On our walks, we are working to help Cactus to be less reactive when passing other dogs. We are proud of his progress and improvement on this behavior. If you are a large-dog lover, and need a buddy to get your steps in or a companion to binge-watch shows with, come meet Cactus. He would be happy to help!Cactus is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Story
Hey, I am Luna. I am a sweet but shy pup who is looking for my perfect home. I am the kind of dog who needs a specific kind of home. I love to play and cuddle with my favorite people, but new people tend to make me nervous. I will need a home that can provide me with a slow introduction to everyone in the home, and help me feel more comfortable with guests. I will also need a home without young children, dogs, or cats in order for me to feel safe and completely myself. I am a smart cookie and love to play games like treat puzzles and learning new tricks. If you have space in your heart for a unique and quirky gal like me, come meet me and take me home!

Story
Hey, my name is Lexi! I am a good dog looking for an owner willing to offer proper training, socialization, and exercise. I am a quick learner, and with the help of some yummy treats, I will make you proud with my excellent manners.Lexi`s Foster Parents Report:`Lexi is a really sweet, loving, smart, young lady. She has some puppy energy as most 2-year-olds do, and loves to go for walks, look for animals out of our windows, and playing with toys. But she can also be the best couch potato and cuddler when it`s time to relax. She sleeps in bed with us and loves to be warm under the covers. Where we are, she is attached to our hip and we`ve become the best of friends!` -Lexi would prefer any kids in her life be over the age of 5. -Lexi needs to meet any potential dog siblings before going home to make sure they are a good match. Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Bren on Adopt-a-pet. At 13.5 years old, Bren has found herself as one of the many unclaimed strays here at the shelter. Given her age, this is especially heartbreaking as she deserves the softest blankets, the most delicious food, and an owner that adores her. A Boxer mix, she still has a little pep in her step, and a whole lot of love to give. We want all the best for Bren so we want for her to be the only pet and we're hoping for a fenced yard too. P.S. Bren did have a lipoma mass removed on the R side of her rib area on 10/11. She will need to have a re-check 14 days from that date. *Bren is not accepting of other dogs or cats. We're not sure what she's experienced in her past life that has turned her off from them, but at this stage, she deserves to relax and enjoy the rest of her life the way she prefers.
