Story
Truffle~born~March 2018Truffle needs to find a new home. Her current owner has provided this information:Truffle is a 5 year old sweet and loving pit/hound mix. Originally from California, she loves to take long sun baths and enjoy the fresh air. She enjoys her daily walks and has several spurts throughout the day where she loves to play and run around. However, most of the day, you'll find her napping and snuggled up next to you. Truffle is looking for an experienced owner who can continue to help her with separation anxiety and dog reactivity. She will do best in a single dog household. Truffle has been working very hard on her dog reactivity since 2020 and has come a long way! When introduced properly she can be comfortable around other dogs. She will do very well with a confident owner who is invested in her improvement and dedicated to continuing her training. She is also great around kids (even babies) for short periods of time, but would be happiest in a home without children (several days to a week around kids is her max). She does not do well with cats.Truffle is also working on her separation anxiety. Currently, she's working on crate training, which is going very well! Truffle loves to train and is food motivated and eager to please! She will thrive in a loving and nurturing home with structure and resources to dedicate to daily training to help her become confident and feel safe. Can you be Truffle's person, and provide a loving home where she can become your best friend and the best dog she can be?_____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

Story
Shyla~born~February 2021Hi!!! My name is Shyla. I came from a family with 3 small kids and we used to have a blast together. We didn't have any rules to follow and had tons of fun together. My foster mom says that is why I still need to learn some manners. She also says I am very food motivated, I don't know what that means, but if you have food, you have my attention.I love car rides and playing with all my toys and bones. Now that the weather is nicer I also like to lay in the sun in the yard. I also like walks, but my foster mom had a bum knee and had to have surgery. She is healed now and says we are going to start doing more walks because I need to learn some leash manners. I don't know what she is talking about, I am just so excited to smell all the smells and see all the people.Besides my foster mom, I also have a dog friend and two cats. My foster brother and I love to wrestle on the couch. My foster mom says she doesn't know why she even bothers putting all the pillows on the couch because we are just going to have them all over the floor. We agree, if she got rid of the pillows we would have more room to play!! I try to play with the cats, but they just tease me. I chase them and then they go to places I can't fit. How rude!!! One of them likes to cuddle up to me then attack my nose. My foster mom says that means she likes me. Weird!!I get very, very excited when my foster mom gets home from work and attack her with kisses. Once I know she is home to stay I settle down and just want to cuddle with her. She says I think I am a lap dog but I know I am, that's why I also climb into her lap. She says I am a bed hog. I don't know why she got a big bed if she isn't going to use every inch of it. Humans!!Can you welcome Shyla into your heart and home and make her your very BFF?_____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

Story
Meet Dune. This handsome pittie was abandoned and on the run for at least 8 weeks when he was secured. I am here to tell you, he is an amazing, quirky little guy! He is standoffish at first, but warms up quickly, especially if you have treats. He's approximately 2yrs and 70lbs. He loves pig ears and pup cups from Starbucks, but hates peanut butter. He loves sitting in the window and he sleeps curled up in a bed that seems a little too small for him, but he loves it! He enjoys people, but likes alone time too. Sometimes he just chills in the sun room in his crate. He's on a small dose of anti-anxiety meds because of his past, and he likes to take it with Liverwurst! He's not botheed by cats, (I have 3). He hasn't been around children, so he may do better with older kids. He gets along with other dogs, but a meet and great is a must. He's good on a leash and enjoys walks. Because of his past, a fenced in yard is a must. If you're looking for a furever buddy, give Dune a chance.

Story
I rescued sweet Luna from the streets of Detroit several years ago. She was shy and learning how to be a dog. She learned so much from our older dog Chloe and her kitty friends. When Luna matured her feelings toward other dogs changed. She began to make it known she preferred to be in the company of humans and kitties. We successfully kept Luna and Chloe separated until now. After several devastating disagreements between them we made the decision to find a better home for Luna. Somewhere she doesn’t need to be crated half the day and can laze around freely with humans and kitties.
