Rhea is a beautiful girl looking for a foster or furever home. She was born around March 2022. She is e-collar and crate trained, and she loves to play. She came from a background of neglect, abuse and health issues; but has overcome all of it with proper care, socialization and training. She still needs patience because she is fearful of new people without slow introductions, but once she knows you- she worships you and loves on you so hard. She just needs to establish trust and a safe boundary first. Rhea would do best as a solo pet for now because she is still learning. Rhea's preferred adopter will be someone who can provide consistent structure, open to families with older children (14+) as she is strong and still learning. She is a healthy gal who is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and microchipped. Her foster is gifting all her gear to her furever home: crate, blankets, a cot, ecollar and remote, slow feeding bowl, harness and collar. Meet Hattie! Hattie is as sweet as they come with quite a personality to go with her. She is excellent at supervising our shelter shifts and letting us know just when we aren't moving fast enough (we see her in some sort of management position in her new home, maybe Head of Squirrel Security for example). Hattie really loves her time out and is happy to play and be with people. She is very ready to move on from shelter life and into a cozy home with a family that will love her for the rest of her life. She recently went on a field trip and was great in the car and walked very well on the leash. Hattie did not come from gentle beginnings and has never lived in a real home before so everything for her will be new. The best family for her would be able to have patience as she learns all the great things that life has to offer that she never got to experience before. Seeing her discover things for the first time is sure to melt your heart. She is a very gentle and fun girl and may be great around older kids. What we know about Gus: Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Has lived with kids and another dog previously Awesome temperament NO cats Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus came to us extremely underweight, nearly bald, with open wounds all over his body due to Demodex mange. He has since recovered fully and is ready to find his forever family! Gus was far too interested in the cats when we cat tested him as his herding instincts are present with these types of animals. However, he is great with other dogs and we use him to help introduce new dogs to the rescue. He also does fantastic with the 3 year old human on the rescue property! Gus has gone out on multiple Doggie Day Outs and did so well each time! He was his happiest self at the dog park with his rescue buddy (Folly) who has since been adopted. He likes to meet new people and go for car rides! We think he could be a heeler mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would 😂 Note: Since Gus has a history of Demodex mange, this means he is genetically predisposed to this condition if he does not take flea/tick prevention regularly. This boy was dumped off at an auction place by his owners. Apparently their new landlord wouldn’t let him stay and that was their solution. He waited for them but was caught by a volunteer's house and brought in. He is a sweet, sweet boy who was definitely cared for. We’re positive he is housetrained and does well on a leash. He does well around other dogs his size, have not put him with smaller dogs. We aren’t sure about cats but know he can learn those manners. He loves to be around people, does well with kids and would love to go on any adventure with his new family. He would do best in a yard to get some energy out but it doesn't have to be too big…. just something he can walk around in but extra walks or dog park would do best for him. He is just a big lover who was let down by one family and is hoping for a second chance with a new one. Hank is being fostered in TN at this time but no worries because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. They transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest.
