You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. I’ve had a bit of a rough start to life after being found in the streets with my sister as a puppy. I am a very sweet and lovable guy who likes to curl up next to my person when we watch tv, sleep, or on days when we’re just couch potatoes. I also like to go on walks and I know some basic commands like sit, shake, wait and down. I think my favorite thing in the whole world (besides lots of love and pets) is chewing on bully sticks but don’t worry I never chew on the wrong things. I know shoes are for wearing and not chewing. I also love squeaky toys and repeatedly pushing them to make them squeak, something about it just makes me so happy. I’ve never had an accident in my fosters house and I ring a bell when I need to go outside. I love to also run and play outside. When other dogs bark at me I just ignore them and do my own thing. When given the opportunity I love to play with other dogs but sometimes I don’t know when enough is enough and then I’m given a little break. I’m just so submerged in play I guess I just miss the cues sometimes but I’ve never been aggressive. I’ve been with the rescue longer than I thought I would have been. All I want is someone to call my forever home and love me forever. If you are interested in meeting, fostering, or adopting me, please fill out an online application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi there! My name originally was Daya but I go by Rue and my three favorite things are food, cozy pillows, and cuddles (ideally all happening at once). I am content to curl up in a ball and sleep the day away but I do have bursts of energy and I LOVE to chew so I need a home where I can get the exercise and mental stimulation I need. I love my people and want nothing more than to cuddle up and be with them. Meeting new people can sometimes be a little bit scary for me. While I can meet new adults in the right environment, I am very scared of little kids so my new home needs to be just for me and my adults. I like my crate (especially with a fuzzy blanket). I would benefit from a patient and experienced owner. I’ve never lived with a cat but I have lived with other dogs my whole life. My ideal situation would be one where I could be the only dog in the house but if you want to meet and have a pooch already don’t let that stop you! A person to cuddle with on a sunny day is all I really need. If you are interested in meeting me, adopting me or fostering me please fill out an online application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello, my name is Charlie. I’m a friendly, loving, energetic two-year-old neutered male who loves to cuddle. My hobbies include going for long walks, running in the yard, playing tug-a-war, and playing catch. I love to play, but at the end of the day, I love nothing more than a comfy place to cuddle next to my mom or dad. I also really enjoy giving hugs! I do better hanging out and playing with older kids. I’m house-trained and crate-trained. I love positive reinforcement when learning new instructions and tricks. I prefer all the attention so I would do best in a home where I am the only pet. I am a great companion and my perfect home would be with a family that is active and can give me the love and attention I need. If you’re looking for a dog to go on adventures during the day and a great cuddle bug at night I am your guy! ***PLEASE NOTE:  This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization and does not belong to Last Day Dog Rescue.  Applications will be forwarded to the animals foster.*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 7:53 am

He LOVES to run around his fenced yard and would like a forever home with a fenced yard, too. He is not a barker and walks well on a leash with his harness. He knows sit and comes when called. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Styx was part of an unplanned litter in Detroit. While her breed mix would suggest she’d be a bigger dog, the vet thinks she’ll stay on the smaller side of medium as an adult. A perfect size to snuggle up next to you on the couch without taking up too much space.Styx watched as her three littermates found their forever homes. Why them and not her? While they all came into rescue under-socialized, she was the most shy and timid around new people. She shies away from being pet until you have entered her circle of trust (this will take days/weeks, not minutes/hours), and will bark when she’s uncomfortable with a new person in her home. Her future forever family will need to be patient and likely do several meet-ups tobuild trust before adoption. She does warm up pretty quickly to new dog friends, so a home with a confident dog sibling to help her learn the ropes would be ideal! We do not know how she’d do with cats.To help Styx overcome her ‘Stranger Danger’ mindset, she has started SSRI medication and is doing in-home training sessions to learn how to better manage her anxiety. She’s already showing a lot of progress, but will still prefer a quieter home without a lot of people coming and going.Once Styx trusts you, she’s a wonderful, loving, snuggly companion! She’s very treat-motivated and smart, making her easy to train. She has some bursts of puppy energy, but is overall a pretty chill dog who happily settles on the couch or in her crate for nap time. She loves to play fetch with toys inside. Outside, she tends to get more distracted by all the smells, but does happily engage in a game of chase with her doggy playmate. She rarely barks at anything outside of the house (animals, people, cars, etc.) and is past the put-everything-in-your-mouth stage of puppyhood. While Styx makes it hard for you to earn her trust, the effort will be rewarded with lots of love and loyalty.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Ebbah (aka Harley): The Sweetest Pit Bull Mix You'll Ever Know, Ebbah is a gentle, loving pit bull mix who defies every negative stereotype about her breed. With soulful brown eyes and a tricolor coat that shimmers between soft gray and warm caramel, she embodies the true heart of a loving companion. Personality Highlights: - Incredibly affectionate and calm - Rarely barks, preferring quiet communication - Loves cuddles and close human contact - Exceptionally well-mannered Background -Rescued from a local shelter in Michigan, Ebbah quickly showed her remarkable temperament. Her previous experiences didn't diminish her trust in humans; instead, they seemed to make her more grateful and loving. Daily Life Ebbah enjoys: - Lots of play time and walks/ run around the neighborhood (at least 3x/ day) - Training: she is now potty trained and has learned stay, right and left paw, come, and go commands (IF you have her attention) - very friendly with people, and seems to get along with other dogs (but her interactions have been limited since she’s the only puppy in her foster home) - Playing with chew toys (she has also occasionally gotten socks/ shoe laces ) - enjoys regular naps while her foster parents work/ relax at home  Special Traits: What makes Ebbah extraordinary is her emotional intelligence. She seems to sense when her humans need comfort, offering silent support and warm nuzzles. Her pit bull mix heritage gives her a muscular build, but her demeanor is pure gentle giant. Ebbah proves that with love, training, and understanding, pit bulls can be the most devoted, sweet-natured companions imaginable. Story
When making an omelet, it’s important to have the right balance of ingredients. This Omelet is the perfect mix of sweetness, gentleness, and a good dash of playfulness. He is truly an egg-straordinary boy! Like an eggy in a basket, Omelet loves having a cozy place to curl up. His favorite is a covered crate with lots of cushy blankets and toys inside. You may find him curled up in there, enjoying an evening peanut butter filled Kong. These comforts help Omelet feel safe and secure. Omelet may be a bit shy when he first meets you, as new environments and people can be a little scary for him. But with a little patience and understanding, he comes out of his shell! Though Omelet may have a beautiful coat that is white as snow, he is certainly not a fan of the cold. He would much rather cuddle in bed while you binge watch your favorite comfort show together. Omelet would like to take a crack at being your best friend. He is so egg-cited to meet his new family!Omelet`s Ideal Home: -Must meet kids, recommend older kids- Must meet dogs

Story
Good With Kids: Did well with kids he's met. Suggest older kids. Good With Other Dogs: Yes, not a big fan of high energy dogs Good With Cats: Unknown. Uninterested in squirrels so might like cats. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes when wearing harness. Knows Basic Commands: Mostly Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate Special Needs: Ear cleansing to avoid infections. Current getting every other week nail trims to shorten the quicks to obtain better standard nail length. Physical Fence: Ideal but would likely do well on tie-out or walks. Favorite Activity: Nap on the couch with favorite blanket and neck rubs. Arrival story: Junior was found on the streets of Detroit by a good Samaritan who provided a safe place and vet care prior to arriving at Waggin' Tails. Approximate age / Weight: 8ish yrs old and 55 lbs. Personality: Junior is super sweet, loving and is just happy to be by your side. He loves destroying stuffed toys, chewing on Benebones, and noshin' on stuffed Kongs or lick mats. Our boy is super super food motivated and his tail rarely stops wagging. He enjoys a romp in the yard, a walk around the block, a car ride, and most of all a nap on the couch with his favorite blanket. He’ll curl up next to you and loves tushy and neck rubs best. Junior is house trained and crate trained, is content being on his own for periods of time, is a champ at the vet, and is getting better at his routine ear washes and nail trims – he never hated them, just doesn’t want to sit still for them. Nicknames: Junie, June Bug, Uncle June, the list could go on. You call, he comes. Smart boy is learning the basic queues (like sit) and has excellent recall, doing well keeping eyes on his handler in one-on-one training class, not barking at other dogs on leash. Junior takes treats quickly so little kids may not be best match to live day-to-day but he's met younger kids and been great with them. Forever Home: Junior is filled with tons of love to give his next family and will quickly become your best bud! While pretty low maintenance and not really up for big adventures he sure does enjoy a car ride and walks and would love nothing more than to be your partner in crime! Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Luna was rescued from a litter where the family cannot keep all of them. We rescued her and raised her since she was 2 months old. She is very obedient with training she listens, potty trained loves to cuddle play go on walks. Luna is spayed, up to date on shots and chipped. Luna would be better off in a family with no other dogs she likes to be dominant and keeps getting in fights with my older dog.

Story
Thistle is a 1.5 year old female that we adopted about a year ago. She is a sweet girl but unfortunately is dog aggressive and we also have two young children in the home. She has never been aggressive with them but we feel there is a better home out there with someone who has more experience and time with a dog of her temperament.
