Story
We rescued Zora from a kill shelter several months ago. She is a very sweet, affectionate, and energetic dog. She will require the opportunity to go on long walks and runs. She's very playful and a wonderful hugger (her fur is soooo soft). She's very young. She was very good at using puppy pads, but has recently become confused as we're trying to train the dogs (we have 7) to go outside. She is very much a pleaser and will (usually) go to her crate when she's told. She loves to play with other doggies, but gets very nippy sometimes and terrorizes our pit bull who doesn't realize she could easily end Zora (and instead jumps in mommy's lap). We'd rather she never find that out. With my husband leaving the home (we are separating), the "alpha" is gone and Zora is now trying to assert dominance. Thus it's best for the other dogs and our preschooler if she lives elsewhere. We will miss her, but she's just too much for one small person to handle along with 6 other doggies.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Paloma: The Snuggle Queen and Couch Connoisseur** Introducing Paloma, a 6 year-old mix who has mastered the art of relaxation and cuddling. Once a skittish diva with a flair for chaos, Paloma has mellowed into the ultimate indoor enthusiast. These days, she’s all about lounging on the couch, soaking up belly rubs, and keeping her humans company. Paloma is selective with her canine friends, preferring the company of well-mannered boy dogs who understand her need for space. While she’s initially reserved, Paloma’s personality shines through once she feels comfortable and secure in her environment. Hiking and camping? Not her style. Paloma would much rather curl up on a comfy dog bed than explore the great outdoors. Mornings with Paloma are anything but dull. She greets each day with a breakfast performance that’s nothing short of spectacular. Once her meal is over, she’s back to her favorite spot, ready for a day of cozy relaxation. But here’s the catch—Paloma needs an owner with a strong personality who won’t let her run the show. She’s clever and quick to test boundaries, so her ideal human must be able to keep her in check and not give in to her charming ways too often. With a unique blend of quirkiness and calm, Paloma is the perfect companion for someone who values comfort and a touch of personality in their furry friend. Adopt Paloma, and prepare to welcome a laid-back, loving, and slightly quirky dog into your home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 7:50 pm

Story
Malani is an 9-month-old Heeler-Terrier mix puppy with a heart full of love and energy. Her previous owner had to move and couldn’t take her along, but she’s been thriving with us for the past month. Malani gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is always eager to make new friends. She’s excited about every cat she meets, though she’s still learning how to interact with them gently. Her energy is contagious—she loves meeting new people and brings puppy enthusiasm wherever she goes! Malani enjoys spending time outdoors and is always ready for an adventure or a walk. She’d make the perfect companion for an active family or anyone looking for a fun-loving, adventurous dog!

Story
Give him work and he will rock! Hi there! I'm a 2-year-old, 20-pound neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix. I have been in a home since I was a pupper, but unfortunately I need a new home with someone who understands my breed and need for physical and mental enrichment. I mean, a cattle dog is smart and you gotta use that, right?! I really thrive on routine and structure, so breed specific games like flirt poles, herding balls, maybe sports would be so dang fun with me! I am house trained, but could use more crate training and separation anxiety training to feel more secure when my humans aren’t around. I have some anxiety, and that sometimes leads to frustration and mouthiness, so patience and slow introductions are key for me, especially with new dogs and strangers. I can be a bit reactive on leash, both to people and dogs, so I need a calm and controlled environment to help me feel safe. I pawmise that I am definitely cuter than my pics, you just have to see me! Loyalty and loving are my greatest traits. I am smart, and intelligent and do love my daily runs (3-6 miles). I still have tons of energy and endurance to burn! I need a lot of mental stimulation and physical exercise—like playing with flirt poles, herding balls, or just running in the backyard. I’m a working breed, so I love having a job to do. I’ve got a lot of energy and a ton of love to give, but I need some help learning how to settle in at home. I get along fine with cats, but I do tend to chase them if they run, and I prefer to be around children 12 and up since I can be a little too much for little ones. Young respectful adults are ideal. I need to be crated when visitors come over, as I feed off of their excited energy, which can make me feel more anxious and reactive. I also need structure when I’m around other dogs, especially when there are toys, bones, or chews involved, because I can be protective of my resources. Once I get to know you, I’m very loving and loyal. I might be a great match for someone who is active and enjoys running—I'll be right there by your side! But I need a home that understands my breed’s needs and can give me the mental and physical stimulation I require. If you're familiar with working breeds and can offer me the right environment, I bet I could be a wonderful companion! We can be a great team together! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##1728538##
