Hi! My name is Ozzy and I am from Texas. From his foster: He loves taking naps, going for car rides, walks, or just hanging out with his humans. He is doing very well with potty training and crate training. From the vet team: After coming into rescue, it was discovered that I had a serious heart murmur. An echocardiogram with the University of Minnesota Cardiology determined that the cause of my murmur was 2 heart defects. PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus - a defect that causes the ductus arteriosus to not close properly at birth) and pulmonic stenosis (a narrowing of the pulmonic valve). I had heart surgery where a device was placed in my artery to close the hole caused by the PDA defect. I have a recheck echocardiogram in February to determine if a balloon valvuloplasty surgery is necessary. While I am still a puppy my family will want to keep a close eye on me and give me lots of breaks if my heart ever becomes too rapid or labored. Should I ever experience irregular respiration, extreme lethargy or fluid buildup in my abdomen this may require emergency care. TBB will agree to cover my recheck along with the balloon valvuloplasty surgery if recommended at that 3 month recheck scheduled in Feb 2025. Because of these heart conditions they also advised that any elective surgeries such as a neuter be delayed until after that recheck. TBB will agree to cover my neuter procedure if completed at TBB or an approved veterinary partner.

Hi! My name is Dally but you can call me handsome, or good looking, or baby boy I am just happy to be called anything from people! I have been with my foster family for a little while now and all I ever hear them call me is “good boy”. In the short time that I have been with my foster family I have learned so many things! Like that I LOVE small humans, I have heard them called kids. I also love other dogs and have done well with cats! I have learned a few manners like sit, up, down and come Dally (well okay most the time I remember this one!). I have dogs in my foster home now and I love to play with them. My foster mom says that I adapt to their attitudes really well. If they want to play I am all in and if they just want to hang around and be lazy I am happy to just snuggle with them and keep warm! One of my favorite things about being in rescue is the access to all the bones and toys a good boy like me could ask for! I am great at sharing them with the other dogs in the house as well. My ABSOLUTE favorite thing about being in rescue is know that I will always have a full belly and treats to munch on! My foster mom says this makes it easier to teach me new tricks! I am house trained AND trusted to not be in a kennel when my foster family leaves for the day. They did try out the kennel when I first arrived and I just wasn’t feeling it. I would sing the Blues until someone came home. So now I am left out most of the time and I do okay when I can just watch out the window waiting for them to come back! See I told you I was a good boy! The only thing that my foster mom would say I need to work on is staying in the yard. She puts me on a tie out to keep me safe but I would do well with a 6 foot fenced in yard so I could roam free while still being safe!  I do really well with the tie out though and have become the master at untangling myself! Sure, I have limited feeling and movement in my hind legs, but I love life just the same! I mean not only do I have a wonderful wheelchair that allows me to run around but I also get to do about 10-15 minutes of physical therapy, stretches, & exercises every single day to help ensure my muscles don’t atrophy. Some people may not like doing a PT regimen, but I don’t mind it at all because it’s more quality time with my people. I would love to find a family that would also bring me to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and even swimming!! Oh my gosh not only is playing fetch in the water is SOOOO much fun but I am an excellent swimmer! I do not like a lot of commotion and I’m a bit shy around new people especially if they get too close, but I love to be with MY people and I’m getting braver every day! I have a high prey drive so cats are probably not a good fit for me; I’m good with kids as long as they don't try and climb on me; and I do well with most other dogs although I can be a bit selective with small dogs. But mostly, I am easy going! I am a super smart boy who’s not only potty, crate, and leash trained but I know a bunch of commands like “down”, “kennel/crate”, “outside”, “wait”, and a release word “ok”.  Also, I have learned how to go up and down stairs! I can climb 3-4 steps of any surface on my own, and a full flight of carpeted stairs on my own if supervised. Sometimes I need a little help to get started if the landing is slippery like vinyl or hardwood. Ideally my forever home doesn't have a lot of stairs inside and going outside.  I am a happy, playful, and very loving boy who loves giving hugs, kisses, & snuggles, playing fetch in a huge yard, going to the dog park, playing with my toys, going for leashed walks, getting lots of belly rubs, and eating treats especially fruits & veggies! YUUUMMM!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also love to practice Barn Hunt…I may not be able to compete, but I sure do have a great time practicing! Hee, hee!! I am an incredibly beautiful 3 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. I am a bit on the smaller size – so perfect for snuggling into a comfy dog bed! A little about me – I am deaf, but don’t let that stop me and am a very smart girl! I have picked up the routine in the house very quick. I also have a medical issue called “fly biting” – the vet discovered it is likely related to my diet. With a low carb diet and daily Prilosec, it is manageable. It might also be a bit anxiety based and/or habitual so when we meet my foster family can tell you about my routine and triggers. They think I would do best in a calm home. When I came up to Minnesota it was discovered I was heartworm positive. Now that those pesky bugs are gone, I'm a healthy girl, but need year round heartworm pills.   I would love to find a forever home with another dog that can help me stay on a routine and keep me busy. I am not a high energy dog but am a busy girl following my people and the other dogs around the house and yard. I don’t need a fenced yard since I am leash trained but would do best in a fenced yard to run and play in – or someone who can help me burn some energy out on walks, runs or teach me agility skills. I do try and play with the cats in my foster home, so if there are cats in my forever home they would need to be dog savvy and slowing introduced. If I didn’t have my foster sister to romp around and play with, I might be too interested in the cats and I don’t think they would enjoy how much fun I am. I love being around my people and following them around – they are helping me work on my manners like not jumping on people or bark at strangers. The barking doesn’t really bother me since I can’t hear it anyway. I am potty trained and crate trained. I live with a few other dogs and really enjoy the company of one in particular – she is a great buddy and we like to play together. Sometimes I do get into trouble, and it kinda makes my foster dad laugh, although he knows he shouldn’t. He says that I will pick up anything that isn’t nailed down – shoes, socks etc and carry it around – then my foster sister grabs the other end and the circus begins. Play time is great!! I love to be part of the action and would love to find a forever home that will love me unconditionally and help me be the best girl I can be! Welcome Birdie to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 6-month-old dog. She is an Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie. She weighs about 30 pounds and considered a medium sized dog. She is smart and knows a lot of commands. She walks good on a leash, potty trained, good in a car, knows sit, knows trade (which) you can use to swap out what she has in her mouth with something else and a few more things. You can see the other commands in the video. We have them written on her paperwork. She is very smart and attentive. She calms down nicely and can work with some moderate distractions. She has been in foster care and the foster did a lot of work getting her ready. She would be fine in a home with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She would be best with an active outdoorsy family that wants a loveable companion to join their home. She would make a good walking companion for someone and due to her size would be able to do some brisk walking. She has the long beautiful coat of the border collie. She is looking for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Kato is a 7 month old puppy that was originally a rescue from Missouri, and for the last 5 months has been living in Minnesota with foster parents. He is part Red Heeler (Australian Cattle dog) but definitely has some other breeds in him as well. He is incredibly smart and loyal and quick to pick up commands, but he does have cattle dog tendencies around being territorial and weary of strangers (both dogs and people). He is still a puppy and loves to play tug, fetch, and tag. He knows a lot of commands and is kennel and house trained. He would thrive in a place where he has more room to run around outdoors and maybe has an older dog to help him understand behaviors better, and stop him from being "on guard" so often. He does not live with dogs, kids, or cats currently but has lived with dogs before. He does still have some herding tendencies and has nipped at few people he doesn't know in his space. But once he knows people he's generally playful with them.

Hi! My name is Dean and I am from Missouri.

Luca is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd that we adopted as a puppy from a local breeder when he was about 8 weeks old. Luca has been a great companion, loving, loves to play fetch, listens well to commands, and is very protective of our family. Luca is very high energy and is very smart as well. Some of the challenges Luca has is he does have anxiety for a dog, and gets nervous around others, which will cause him to be protective, especially around his own territory (house). While he has not bit anyone in the past, he will go up and nip someone to get them to move, which is a natural trait for a shepherd dog, however, it does cause concern when we would have others over and would have to put him away just for concern that people that may not be use to dogs, will view that as aggressive. He is good with female dogs. We are looking to rehome Luca as we will be moving to a new area that doesn't allow pets, which we hope to find a good home for him where he can be active.
