Story
Hi! My name is Ozzy and I am from Texas. From his foster: He loves taking naps, going for car rides, walks, or just hanging out with his humans. He is doing very well with potty training and crate training. From the vet team: After coming into rescue, it was discovered that I had a serious heart murmur. An echocardiogram with the University of Minnesota Cardiology determined that the cause of my murmur was 2 heart defects. PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus - a defect that causes the ductus arteriosus to not close properly at birth) and pulmonic stenosis (a narrowing of the pulmonic valve). I had heart surgery where a device was placed in my artery to close the hole caused by the PDA defect. My recheck echocardiogram performed in Feb 2025 showed that the device placed in my heart well placed and helping to regulate my conditions. I will not need further surgeries and the cardiologists expect me to live a very close to normal life. I will be on medications life long and they recommend annual echocardiograms along with annual wellness exams (until otherwise recommended) to ensure the device and medication plan is still compensating for my conditions well. Once me neuter is completed I will be ready to go to my forever home! Could that be you?

Hi! My name is Twisted Sister and I am from Arkansas. I was born on January 5th, so I'm pretty new to this world! I've been going by Charlotte or char. I love playing, snuggles, and exploring. I'm very smart and would make a great hiking and adventure partner! I’m a very brave puppy and love showing off my big jumps from couches and stairs. I love playing with other dogs, even big dogs! I think I'm as tough as them. Sometimes they say no thank you, and I’m good at listening to cues. I love playing with other puppies my size and age or wrestling with big squeaky toys. If it’s not play time, I’d love to relax and cuddle with you while you read a book or watch your favorite show. I am working on potty training and prefer to do my business outside if you can help keep me on a schedule. If not, I will use a potty pad inside but I will let you know I need to go outside first. Being left alone is not my favorite thing and I will let you know. But I do settle down in my crate or play pen with a bit of time. I have an easier time settling if I can still see you from my crate. I would thrive with in a home with another dog to learn from and play with. I can’t wait to meet my forever family and have so many wonderful adventures together!

Hello my name is Bluey, I'm from Minnesota! Bluey is a super sweet dog who loves her people. She's active when she is outside, and up for a good game of fetch, but inside, she's usually very calm and spends most of her day napping. She's fully house trained, crate trained, and will drop anything out of her mouth when instructed to "drop it." She's great with children, although she does get over excited when greeting people and likes to jump up, but we're working on learning to sit for greetings. She usually barks a little to let us know someone is at the door, but is friendly to guests. She doesn’t chew things around the house, and while she likes a chewy treat, she hasn’t put teeth marks in a single shoe in the time we’ve had her. Bluey was rescued from Arkansas, along with her nine adorable puppies, who are all settled into homes of their own now. She’s been spayed and is ready for a forever home of her own!

Story
Hi! My name is Dally but you can call me handsome, or good looking, or baby boy I am just happy to be called anything from people! I have been with my foster family for a little while now and all I ever hear them call me is “good boy”. In the short time that I have been with my foster family I have learned so many things! Like that I LOVE small humans, I have heard them called kids. I also love other dogs and have done well with cats! I have learned a few manners like sit, up, down and come Dally (well okay most the time I remember this one!). I have dogs in my foster home now and I love to play with them. My foster mom says that I adapt to their attitudes really well. If they want to play I am all in and if they just want to hang around and be lazy I am happy to just snuggle with them and keep warm! One of my favorite things about being in rescue is the access to all the bones and toys a good boy like me could ask for! I am great at sharing them with the other dogs in the house as well. My ABSOLUTE favorite thing about being in rescue is know that I will always have a full belly and treats to munch on! My foster mom says this makes it easier to teach me new tricks! I am house trained AND trusted to not be in a kennel when my foster family leaves for the day. They did try out the kennel when I first arrived and I just wasn’t feeling it. I would sing the Blues until someone came home. So now I am left out most of the time and I do okay when I can just watch out the window waiting for them to come back! See I told you I was a good boy! The only thing that my foster mom would say I need to work on is staying in the yard. She puts me on a tie out to keep me safe but I would do well with a 6 foot fenced in yard so I could roam free while still being safe!  I do really well with the tie out though and have become the master at untangling myself! I would really love to find a family of my own! So if you are looking for a smart, affectionate, playful pup I’m your boy! Correction… GOOD boy! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please submit an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.  All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. ##2213868##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, my name is Tacoma and I am a happy gal from Texas ready to find my forever home in Minnesota. I am an incredibly beautiful 6.5 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. I am a bit on the smaller size – so perfect for snuggling into a comfy dog bed, or lying on the couch next to my human! I really like to see my humans and be by them when I can. I am such a smart and fun girl, but there are a few things you should know about me. I am deaf, but I don’t let that stop me. I have picked up the routine in the house very quickly. And I know that if you are patient with me, I'll keep learning more and more stuff! I also have a medical issue called “fly biting”. The dogtor thinks it is neurological so I'll probably have it forever.  But it does not at all stop me!  While it might be weird, or nerve wracking for you when you first see it, it doesn't last long. In fact, my foster dad says I shouldn't worry that it will make people not want me. He says it isn't a big deal and that he never even notices anymore.   I currently have a fenced in yard, but I wouldn't necessarily need one as I do walk well on the leash.  But, because I'm deaf, I can't hear if people try to call me back.   When I came to Minnesota it was also discovered that I was heartworm positive. While those pesky worms are gone and I'm a very healthy girl now, I will need to be on year-round heartworm prevention. I know that's a lot for a girl, but I think being honest is the best policy.  Isn’t that what you humans say?  And even though I get nervous about it sometimes, my foster dad reminds me that we all have quirks and that I should stay positive about finding my forever home. He says that I'd do best in a calmer home and that there are loads of families with calm homes, and that I just need to be patient.    I would love to find a forever home with another dog that can help me stay on a routine and keep me busy. I am not a high energy dog but a busy girl following my people and the other dogs around the house and yard. I don’t need a fenced yard since I am leash trained but would do best in a fenced yard to run and play in.  If running in a fenced yard isn’t possible, it’s okay if I have someone who can help me burn some energy out on walks, runs or teach me agility skills (I am very smart after all!).  I love meeting new people and really like watching passing cars or passing people.  I think everyone is my friend, they just haven’t met me yet so I like to try to meet everyone!  I do try and play with the cats in my foster home, so if there are cats in my forever home they would need to be dog savvy and slowly introduced. If I didn’t have my foster sister to romp around and play with, I might be too interested in the cats and I don’t think they would enjoy how much fun I am. I love being around my people and following them around – they are helping me work on my manners like not jumping on people or barking at strangers. The barking doesn’t really bother me since I can’t hear it anyway, ha ha, but I guess strangers may not like it.  I’m doing well and will keep practicing my manners.  I do love face and neck rubs with an open hand. Back scratches aren't my thing and might make me nervous. But, when the face and neck rubs are really good I will even snort! Apparently, humans can't really drive when I want to sit on their lap in the car. Who knew? Instead I just sit quietly and look out the window, but you may have to remind me I can’t sit on your lap in the car, ha!  There are some neighbor kids that I get to hang out with and we love each other. They like to hold my leash and hug me, and it is fun to get to hang out with them. I love naps too. And, even though I can't hear, I know if you get up and will wake myself up after a few moments to come find you! Remember...I love to hang out with my people. I am potty trained and crate trained. I live with a few other dogs and really enjoy the company of one in particular – she is a great buddy and we like to play together. Sometimes I do get into trouble, and it kinda makes my foster dad laugh, although he knows he shouldn’t. He says that I will pick up anything that isn’t nailed down – shoes, socks etc and carry it around – then my foster sister grabs the other end and the circus begins. Play time is great!! I love to be part of the action and would love to find a forever home that will love me unconditionally and help me be the best girl I can be! I know you will love me with all your heart, because I already love you! I hope to meet you soon! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
Hi! My name is Blossom and I am from Kentucky. From her foster: Blossom is a sweet and gentle girl looking for a patient and loving home. She’s great on walks and curious about other dogs but hasn’t had any direct introductions yet. While she’s still learning commands, she knows “sit” and “down” when rewarded with high-value treats. Blossom can be a little nervous in new situations and takes time to warm up to new people, but once she does, she’s a total sweetheart. She’s kennel-trained, enjoys rawhide chews, and—fair warning—she has a soft spot for shoes (flip-flops beware!). If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little extra time to open up, Blossom could be the perfect match for you! I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.

Hi! My name is Isabella and I'm from Arkansas. From her foster: Isabella is such a smart girl and learns quickly. She quickly learned how to sit and she is doing pretty good with her potty training but still has an accident here and there. We have been working really hard on the play biting and chewing. It is very helpful to have a variety of chew toy options and treats. She is doing well with her crate training, sleeping through the night most every night. Isabella loves to be outside and she likes her exercise and if possible she'd love a job. She has the traits of an Australian Sheppard with moments of really high energy. She enjoys the company of other dogs but she needs to work on sharing. Isabella has been exposed to cats, she likes them and wants to chase and play. She really seems to enjoy water, puts her paws in the lake and will walk in the shower. Isabella quickly steals the hearts of everyone she meets, she has not been exposed to young children. She is very loving and sweet, she likes to be near her people but she isn't much of a snuggle bug. Remember she is a puppy and she will need you to be patient with her while she learns and grows.

Hi, my name is Beau. I am from Arkansas. From his foster: Beau is a good "Go with the flow little dude". He does amazing in cars, loves rope toys, ball, walks and his pig toy! He sleeping through the night in his kennel and almost fully potty trained. He would love to get an older brother or sister to play with him as he is an active pup. Beau would do best in a home that has no sharing walls as he is vocal at some points and would love another dog in the home or frequent outings with canines friends.
