Story
Meet Marjorie! Marjorie is a beautiful brindle pit bull mix, about 42 pounds, at 2 years old, and is so deserving of a forever home! She has been through a lot in her short life including being a wonderful mama to a 9-pup litter in the fall of 2023 around the time she was rescued by Saving Hope, plus overcoming heartworms and a bad respiratory virus that nearly took her life. Marjorie is stronger and healthier than ever now; her puppies found homes, now she is eagerly waiting for hers! She does wonderfully in her crate at night and during the day when her foster mom is at work. As she is not destructive, once she is settled into her forever home (generally 3 weeks to 3 months depending on the dog), she can be left out of her kennel. As with so many dogs, she is naturally nervous in new situations, and thus needs continued work on building confidence. She thrives with clear direction from her person and positive feedback when she does the right thing – she tries her very best to follow all the rules! She has the cutest tippy-tap dance when excited, waiting for a treat, or when she’s working on a skill. While there are no children in her current foster home, she loves everyone and would likely do well with children 10+ as she appreciates her space being respected and a calm household would help her adjust faster.Marjorie loves nothing more than to keep busy managing squirrels and lizards in the yard. This is her main energy outlet currently, so a backyard would be ideal. She needs at least a 6-foot tall fence when off leash because this girl is athletic… anyone want an agility dog? She might be it! She exhibits prey drive tendencies so cats, small dogs or other small animals are not a good fit. She takes breaks to sunbathe and would be content to do this nonstop, but she listens well when it’s time to come inside.Marjorie is threshold trained and is working on leash skills for walks using a prong collar and cues/guidance to walk alongside her human. She gets excited at the sight of other creatures but will sit on command until her person is ready to go. When it’s time to rest, she is very respectful of furniture but if she is invited up, she will be more than happy to cuddle.Marjorie is very quiet unless she is barking at a squirrel or playing with her foster brother, who she has become quite close to (a boxer/pit bull mix). She is somewhat dog selective and has some resource guarding tendencies surrounding speci

Story
Meet Wilson!Wilson is the ultimate velcro dog with the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen! At just 8 months old, this handsome Blue Heeler is on a mission to find his forever family, just in time for his first birthday. True to his breed, Wilson is incredibly loyal, smart, and full of energy. He doesn’t just love his people, he NEEDS them, wanting nothing more than to stay by their side as the ultimate companion. He also loves kids, but prefers older children. Because of this, when left alone, he’ll need a safe and secure area to keep him happy and out of trouble.Wilson is looking for a strong, committed human who will provide him with the training, structure, and stimulation he needs to thrive. He’s crate trained but still learning that the crate is a good place, so continued positive reinforcement will be key. With his affectionate nature, sharp mind, and that irresistible, heart-melting smile, Wilson is ready to be someone’s perfect sidekick. Wilson gets along with other dogs, but he can be dog selective so he needs slow introductions. If you`re looking for a loyal best friend who will always greet you with a grin, Wilson is your guy!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Hannah! Hannah is a gentle dog who has come so far since being rescued from a hoarding situation. She’s been in her foster home for over a year, patiently learning how to trust people, enjoy simple pleasures, and experience what it means to be a beloved pet. Now, she’s ready to find her forever family, one who can give her the love, patience, and security she deserves.Hannah is still shy and cautious, but she has a kind, gentle soul. She rarely barks and will quietly whine when she wants a treat, it’s adorable! She is very close to being fully house-trained and just needs someone to remind her to go outside. At night, she’ll use a potty pad by the door if needed. She walks well on a leash but is still working on her confidence when it comes to outdoor walks. However, she enjoys quiet strolls at the lake, where she seems to feel more at ease. She absolutely loves car rides, but she needs to potty first, otherwise, there may be a little accident along the way! One of her favorite things is curling up under a pile of warm clothes straight out of the dryer. She isn’t a big cuddler, but she occasionally offers gentle hugs to show her love. Her calm nature makes her easy to have around, and her foster family sometimes jokes that they forget she’s there because she’s so quiet and low-maintenance.Hannah does well with other dogs and cats, and she would thrive in a quiet, patient home with a fenced-in yard. Someone who is home often would be ideal to help her reinforce her potty routine and continue to build her confidence.Hannah may be shy, but she’s also incredibly sweet, smart, and lovable. She’s come a long way on her journey, and with the right family, she will continue to blossom! To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step.
