Story
Ruby is a 10 month old, 30 lb Blue Heeler mix, maybe with Border Collie or some type of Hound because she is very vocal, especially when she plays. Ruby has gorgeous amber eyes, and brindle markings. Foster mom says that Ruby is really good for being a puppy still! She is very smart and very food motivated, so she is easily treat trained. She knows "sit" and "lay" and occasionally will "shake paws." Ruby loves toy puzzles and the challenge of searching for and discovering her treat! She also likes to play with other dogs and toys and can entertain herself. "Chuck-it Ball" fetch is her favorite game, and she's good at it! Ruby loves to snuggle, but she can be a little possessive with the people she bonds with. Her fosters are training her to correct that behavior and to assure her there is plenty of love to go around! Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Peep is a 4 month old, 24 lb Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. We think his dad may have been a German Shepherd mix due to his handsome looks and the way he presents himself. Peep is a playful, smart, curious, cuddly, tail-wagging puppy. He gets along with all of his littermates as well as the resident dogs in his foster home. Like all puppies, he will need some training, supervision, good sturdy toys, and lots of cuddles and attention. Since Peep still has his sharp little baby teeth, we are recommending no kids under the age of 6. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Missy is 6 month old and weighs 20 lbs. DNA results show her to be about 50% Cattle Dog/Pit mix, and 50% of a bunch of other breeds. All those breeds add up to 100% very special puppy. Missy loves to run and play. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, but they are older and not interested in playing with her. Missy would love a home with another playful dog, but she should be fine as an only dog too, as long as she gets lots of exercise and play time. She also likes to sunbathe in the backyard when it's not too hot. After play time, she loves to cuddle with her people. She still jumps up when she's excited, so we are recommending no kids under the age of 6. Missy is crate trained, and willingly goes in for meal time and bed time. She is making great progress on housetraining and leash walking. The first step to meeting Missy is to submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Hey there, I'm Blu! Picture a fluffy, tan-colored pup with one brown eye and one dazzling blue eye-that's me! I'm medium-sized and oh-so-adorable, if I do say so myself. At first, I might seem a bit shy, but don't let that fool you. Once I get to know you, I come out of my shell pretty quickly. I tend to warm up to women faster, but with a little patience and kindness, I'll be your best friend in no time! Because of my nervous nature I should not be in a home with small children. Leashes? Yeah, I'm still getting used to those. That's why walking me on a harness works best-I'm still a bit hesitant, you see. But once I'm comfortable around you, get ready for some serious cuddle sessions! I'm a love bug at heart and absolutely adore giving and receiving hugs. I also will even sometimes get really excited and will roll over for belly rubs (but only with my bestest friends)! I'm a playful pup who loves nothing more than running around outside and showing off my speed. A house with a fenced-in backyard is the perfect place for me to stretch my legs and let loose! I would love a family that has another dog in the home (they should come to meet me also) because I love having a dog friend to play with and snuggle up with. I'm looking for a loving family who understands that I might need a little time to come out of my shell. With a fenced-in backyard and plenty of toys to keep me entertained, I'll be one happy pup. And trust me, you won't be able to resist my adorable face! So, are you ready to welcome a sweet and playful pup like me into your home? Let's meet up and see if we're a match made in doggy heaven!

Story
UPDATE 9/11/23. TILLIE HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM BOARD AND TRAIN! She played with at least 5 dogs there, knows her commands, and is ready for her forever home! Tillie is VERY active and would be best suited with another doggie playmate in her new home. OR perhaps someone who would like to train with her for agility or some other event. Tillie is exceptionally smart! PRECIOUS TILLIE!! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!!!!! Tillie is a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 37 pounds. She is an Australian cattle dog mix, 9 months old, spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She is also microchipped. Tillie was out of time at a local shelter and we just HAD to get her! SMART!! SMART!! And LOVES to play fetch with you. Here is a video of her with her "big stick" which she alternates with her "Tillie Ball". She has a lot of playing to do and a lot of love to learn about. Tillie will need an active family that will make her a real part of their family and take her with them where they are able. For more information, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
Oakie is the world’ most well-behaved dog! He’s a 2-year-old Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix who tips the scale at 33 pounds—a very nice size medium-smallish dog. Oakie loves EVERYBODY--well, almost. He loves people and dogs but is not entirely cat-friendly. He will happily greet new people and will get along with all dogs of all sizes. Though he does not play with toys, once he gets used to new dogs, he will happily play with them. He also loves it when his foster gets down on the floor with him to play. Oakie is a very affectionate dog and would like to be a lap dog—but accepts No for an answer when you’d prefer your lap be unoccupied. When you come home, he will stand up and gently place his paws on your chest so you can give him a hug and a head scritch. He would love to sleep on the bed but will sleep on the floor if told to. Oakie is housebroken and leash trained. He knows his basic commands (Sit. Down. Back.) He is gentle and very calm in the house. He’s a quiet dog—he rarely barks. He does not bark when someone rings the doorbell or knocks on the door. He’s good on short or long car rides. He is totally non-destructive—you can safely leave him alone in the house and come back to zero damage. He’s got a cow kneecap bone he chews on and nothing else—not even dog toys. Among his more endearing qualities (he has many) is the fact that he sings while foster dogmom is preparing his dinner. He’s a very food-motivated dog, so you will find it easy to teach him new things. His foster has him do two half-mile runs on the treadmill (2 to 3 mph) per day, but of course you can take him for a walk or let him run around with some rowdy children outside. Oakie would be a great dog for a family, couple or single who has another dog for him to play with--he needs canine companionship. He needs to be in a house with a fenced yard, with one caveat: No chain link fence. He climbs them to jump out. Oakie’s adoption fee is $275 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication. With his good manners and his affectionate, gentle nature, Oakie is a perfect companion dog. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

Story
Kylie is a 6 month old, 24 lb Aussie/Lab mix puppy, but breed mix is just our best guess. We know that her mama was a beautiful Black Lab, and we have included a photo of her. We are guessing dad may have been an Aussie because of her gorgeous brindle and white markings and her cute nubbin tail. When Kylie is happy or excited, that little nubbin tail becomes a blur from wagging so fast! Kylie is full of vim and vigor! She loves to play and will probably do best in a home with another playful dog. She should be ok as an only dog, as long as she gets lots of exercise and playtime. She loves to go on walks, and would be a great walking partner. When she does take a break from playing, she loves to curl up in her dog bed or cuddle next to her person. She is crate trained and working very hard on her potty training. We recommend no kids under the age of 10 since Kylie still has her sharp baby teeth. She will need lots of sturdy chew toys to keep her chewing on the right things. The first step to meeting Kylie is to submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.
