Story
Andi was rescued  from her birth home in Devine, TX. She is now July 2023) almost 6 months old. We believe she was born approximately January 4, 2023. Her mom was a remarkably smart, loyal and loving Red Heeler. We believe her dad is an Australian Shepherd. Andi was 3 months old when we brought her home. Andi is sweet and full of love! However she is a high-energy girl, and would benefit from someone willing to give her the exercise, activities, and playtimes she needs to keep her active mind and body from seeking her own games!  She adores playing fetch, loves rubber balls and 'critter skins”, and  is incredibly affectionate; she loves to cuddle next to us on the couch. Andi is GREAT with other dogs and people. She loves to play with our Chiweenie. She has not been around any small children yet, but I cannot imagine she would not be as wonderful. She is great on walks and sleeps like a baby in her crate. She is 99% house-broken and well crate trained. She will come to her new home with  her crate, bedding and food. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Andi is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.August 15, 2024, 9:45 pm

Story
Hello I'm Radar! Everyone always talks about my ears! I am a young adult and have some puppy energy. I love to chew on toys and I may need some help learning what is okay to gnaw on. I love to play with dogs and I love people! I would do best in a home with other dog friends to play with. I have spent most of my puppy life in a shelter so I am working on house training. I enjoy my crate and love to snack on some frozen kongs while you are out. Story
Vienna is a gentle, sweet and loving blue heeler mix. She loves to snuggle at your feet and look lovingly into your eyes. She is great with other dogs but doesn’t want to play with them; if a dog is being too energetic in her face she does let them know with a nice little rumble. She is appropriately 6 years old. When found, Vienna had been living on the streets in rural Louisiana for over a year. Despite that difficult life, she is good with (older) children, though we’re unsure how she’ll respond to cats. She likes to go on short walks in the park and really enjoys watching other dogs play, even though she has no interest in joining them! Story
Josi is a sweet almost 7 year old, 46 pound gal looking for a relaxed home. She would love a female owner with no children and no cats. She?d be fine in a home with a male, but bonds better with female humans Josi is looking for a calm environment where she can get belly rubs and relax. She is house/crate trained. Josi would do well as a solo pet or with a calm dog companion. She enjoys going for walks, zoomies in the backyard and watching tv. Josi is a low maintenance dog looking for the quiet life!August 15, 2024, 9:45 pm

Story
I have a job opportunity that does not allow me to bring Hazel. She is great with kids and people but sometimes untrusting of other animals. Shes 8 years old, her birthday is 06/12/2016. She will probably go through an anxious phase when rehomed, because moving apartments with her over the years has always taken a few weeks adjustment until she feels settled. But once she is used to a place, she is the sweetest angel and very cuddly and well behaved. She is older so she sleeps a lot. She hides in the closet during a thunderstorm. She loves to be covered up with a blanket when she’s sleeping. And she is predictable in her bathroom/walks—two short walks a day wear her out. She would prefer to just sit in the sun until it’s time to cuddle on the couch. If someone who is home often and wants one pet would love her, I know she could be happy. She weighs 40lbs and shes australian cattle dog mix.

Story
Ruby is a 10 month old, 30 lb Blue Heeler mix, maybe with Border Collie or some type of Hound because she is very vocal, especially when she plays. Ruby has gorgeous amber eyes, and brindle markings. Foster mom says that Ruby is really good for being a puppy still! She is very smart and very food motivated, so she is easily treat trained. She knows "sit" and "lay" and occasionally will "shake paws." Ruby loves toy puzzles and the challenge of searching for and discovering her treat! She also likes to play with other dogs and toys and can entertain herself. "Chuck-it Ball" fetch is her favorite game, and she's good at it! Ruby loves to snuggle, but she can be a little possessive with the people she bonds with. Her fosters are training her to correct that behavior and to assure her there is plenty of love to go around! Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Peep is a 4 month old, 24 lb Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. We think his dad may have been a German Shepherd mix due to his handsome looks and the way he presents himself. Peep is a playful, smart, curious, cuddly, tail-wagging puppy. He gets along with all of his littermates as well as the resident dogs in his foster home. Like all puppies, he will need some training, supervision, good sturdy toys, and lots of cuddles and attention. Since Peep still has his sharp little baby teeth, we are recommending no kids under the age of 6. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. Dahlia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.August 15, 2024, 9:45 pm

Story
Denton, Texas - Bluebell, female Border Collie and Australian Shepard mix in need of a new forever home. I am heading off to college this Sunday, August 18th and will no longer be able to give her all the attention and love she deserves. So she requires no fees. Bluebell is 7 months old (Birthday is January 8th), dewormed, and has her first round of shots. She's potty trained, and house trained for the most part when she has lots of toys to play with. Just like any other puppy she looks for stray things on the ground so please be careful! She hasn't had many one on one occurrences with dogs, but when she does she just likes to sniff. She has never encountered a cat, but my guess is that she would be timid at first. On the other hand she loves to get the love from any human she sees LOL! Bluebell is ofcourse still a puppy and either has lots of energy or ready to take her many naps in the day.
