Story
Say hello to April, a sweet pup currently hanging out in a foster home with five other furry friends, all weighing less than 40lbs. While she gets along fine with her fellow dogs, April isn't really the playful type with them. She's more of a people person, always drawn to human company. Living alongside her canine buddies, April also shares her space with a pig, which she finds amusing to tease. On walks, she can't help but show a keen interest in cats, often trying to chase them down. But don't worry, she's pretty chill around other dogs she meets on a leash. When it comes to training, April's a star. She's crazy about treats and takes them like a champ, making training sessions a breeze. Despite the occasional barking at the pig, April's a good listener and will come inside right away when called. She's all about making her humans happy. In her downtime, April's all about catching some Z's and taking it easy with plenty of naps. She's got a healthy appetite and eagerly sits for treats. Plus, she's always game for a long walk or a new adventure. At home, she loves snuggling up close to her people, showing her affection in the coziest way possible. With her lovable personality and affectionate nature, April would be the perfect fit for any loving home. Story
Moxie is a 3-month-old puppy bursting with love and affection. Despite a rough start after being hit by a car, Moxie's resilience shines through. One of the dedicated vets at Dallas Animal Shelter skillfully rebuilt her hip and even took her home for a couple of nights to ensure she got the best start to her recovery. Now, Moxie has gotten a clean bill of health and has fully recovered from her hip fracture. Moxie is the typical playful puppy who loves to have fun. She has quickly learned to sit and is very treat and praise motivated. Always eager to please, Moxie loves getting pets and treats as rewards. She's crate trained and comfortably stays in her crate when her foster mom sleeps or needs to leave the house. This sweet girl has met dogs and people and loves them all. She enjoys wrestling with dogs and playing chase. With people, she's more than happy to show her affection by cuddling and giving warm greetings. Moxie is also good in the car and is doing well with potty training. Just take her outside, and she'll do her business right away. Moxie's loving nature and playful spirit make her the perfect companion. Whether you're looking for a playful pal or a cozy cuddle buddy, Moxie is ready to fill your home with joy and love. Adopt Moxie and experience the unconditional love only a puppy can give! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. Story
Rudy is a silly &  goofy 4 month old 42 pound puppy who adapts to any and every situation he’s in and is happy to do it! He’s loyal, he loves sticks, his foster siblings (all of them), and his toys!!!  We don't know exactly what breed mix he is but we are told he could grow be a big boy. Our best guess is a cattle dog/dane mix.  He is house, crate and leash trained.  He loves riding in the car, hanging out at restaurants and going on adventures.  We think Rudy will be happiest in a home with a fenced yard, another playful dog or two, older kids would be amazing but not required and an owner home more than not.  To meet Rudy in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. Story
What a charming girl Luna Paisley is! This medium-sized, high-energy girl exudes love. She's exceptionally friendly with all the people and pups she meets, including youngsters. She's easy to love in return, and her amazingly soft fur makes people want to pet her. Hiking and running are two of Luna's favorite activities, so grab her leash and let's go. Not surprising for this 18-month-old lady. She's food motivated and smart, so snag the treats and help her increase her skills. She enjoys food puzzles, so she'll want to keep her brain as active as her body. She'll even play games with the most serious of hounds. Getting her into a busy family routine will be easy, since she adapts to the routine of the people around her. She would be a fabulous addition to any home and loves the company of other pets while also being potty trained & crate trained. Story
Meet the lovely Ellie VI. She is a healthy 2 year old, Aussie/Lab mix that weighs 70 lbs. This sweet baby girl will be excited to meet her new loving family. Ellie is white/tan and has a blue eye and a brown eye. She is a lot of fun, playful, smart, energetic, clever, and loves affection. Ellie is an indoor dog, but she enjoys daily walks and playing outside with her family members. She is wonderful with nice people. She can be protective, but not aggressive. She may bark initially at strangers. Ellie strongly prefers to be the only pet in the house. She doesn't want to share the spotlight. She does not get along with other female dogs. She has never been around male dogs or cats. She has never been around small children either. But I can assure you, as an only pet she will be your best friend her entire life! Ellie has been spayed and microchipped, and all of her vaccines are up-to-date. Ellie is house-trained and leash-trained. She has never been in a crate. She is not used to being alone for more than 3 hours. Ellie was given to us by neighbors who moved away from this area. They were not able to take her with them. She was 4 months old at the time. So we have been taking care of her for almost 2 years. Unfortunately, we are an older couple who now deal with many more health issues. We have extreme difficulty caring for Ellie properly. We also have another female dog. We have to keep them separated, otherwise they fight often. This has become beyond stressful and costly. Although we love Ellie very much and will miss her sweet presence, it is critical to find her a caring new family soon. She is very lovable and a great companion. You will love Ellie! She will give you no choice. :) Please apply to adopt Ellie VI today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Ellie VI, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
