Story
Meet Hannah! Hannah is a shy and timid girl who is 2 years old and searching for someone who can give her lots of patience and love. Hannah was rescued from a severe hoarding case, so she had a rough start in life. She recently completed several training sessions and has come a long way. She would benefit from an experienced dog lover who can continue to invest in her training. Hannah is incredibly smart, crate-friendly, walks well on a leash, dog/cat friendly, and rarely barks. She's mostly potty-trained, so a fenced-in backyard and someone who is often home would keep accidents to a minimum. She's a beautiful girl and will make a wonderful companion for someone. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Kaida! I'm Kaida, a spirited and playful 5 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle/Chihuahua mix searching for my forever home!I'm already house-trained and have mastered the doggy door like a little pro! I absolutely adore being around humans and playing with other dogs - it's my favorite pastime!I've got typical puppy energy, so I'll need some playtime, activities & more training to keep me entertained. Sometimes I may get a bit excited or nervous and accidentally twinkle, but I'm learning every day! Having a confident fur-sibling will help me to keep me socialized lots & gain more confidence myself. It only takes me about 5 minutes to warm up to new friends, but once I do, I'm ready to be your loyal companion! I'm super food motivated and eager to please, making training a breeze! With just a little redirection, I'm quick to learn.I'm used to having my feedings in a crate, although I'm not quite used to spending a lot of time there. I much prefer being out and about with my favorite humans! Could you be the loving family I've been dreaming of?To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Meet Marjorie! Marjorie, a 2-year-old pitbull/blue heeler mix, has shown remarkable resilience. Rescued while pregnant, she gave birth while in the rescue, and though her puppies have been adopted, she's still waiting for her own forever home. Despite being heartworm positive when rescued, she completed treatment in January and is now healthier and stronger than ever, though her recovery wasn't without challenges; she had to be hospitalized twice due to complications.Marjorie is sweet and affectionate, loves cuddling, and is always ready to greet her person with full-body wiggles. While she had to rest a lot during her recovery, she's still learning how to walk on a leash outside of the backyard and can be nervous with passing cars and new noises. She warms up to new people quickly and is learning to sit and greet rather than jump. Marjorie enjoys playing, especially de-fluffing stuffed toys, tug-o-war, and patrolling the yard for squirrels and lizards. She also loves chew sticks and licky mats.Marjorie is intelligent and eager to please, picking up commands quickly. She knows "sit," "come," "wait," "place," and is learning "off," "lay down," and "paw." She is crate trained and housebroken. In a fenced space, Marjorie is energetic, bounding across the area impressively. While a 6-foot fence can contain her well, she has been known to clear gates up to 4 feet. She likes to dig but stops quickly with correction and has learned not to do so in her foster yard.Marjorie has a high prey drive and would likely not do well with cats. She is also territorial with other female dogs due to hormones from having puppies, so she would do better either as an only dog or with medium to larger males. She has shown some food, water, and toy aggression with her foster brother (a corgi) and is working on desensitization.Marjorie would make an excellent companion for an active adult willing to spend some time helping her build confidence. She would also be a great addition to a family with older children, as she appreciates her space being respected. She's ready for a home where she can receive the love and care she deserves. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. Story
Hi there! My name is Cloud, and I`ve staying at the Grand Prairie Animal Shelter. Despite my name, I have a sunny personality! While I`ve been at the shelter, I`ve learned and felt alot of new things. I have learned to trust people. When I first arrived, I felt uneasy about everyone. But now, I like when people come up and talk to me! I`ve noticed that people, big and small, feel happy when I let them scratch behind my ears, and I feel happy too! One lady even kisses me all over my face. It`s fine... I just wipe them off when she`s not looking... I learned what `sit` means. It means cookies!! I love sitting. Maybe when you walk by my kennel, I will bark or jump at the window. All I`m trying to say is, please take me out and scratch my ears! I promise, if you adopt me, I will chase all the other clouds away. You`ll have sunshiney day everyday!

Hi there, I`m Austin. You`ll find me to be a gentle soul, always ready to offer you a comforting presence. I might be a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and I`ll show you my sweet, mellow side. My loyalty runs deep, and once we bond, I promise to be your steadfast friend. I may not be the most outgoing dog in the shelter, but I`m certainly one of the friendliest. I`m just waiting for the right person to share my love and loyalty with. Adopting me means gaining a friend who will always be there for you, cherishing every moment we share. Will you be that person for me?

Story
Meet Amethyst!Hi! My mom is the most beautiful Aussie (with the best temperament) which makes me Amethyst, an Aussie mix. I'm 3 months old and ready to steal your heart. I am crated trained and sleep quietly through the night. I am still working on potty training but each day I make you prouder. (But don't worry soon I'll be 100% ah the perks of growing up!) My foster parents also say I'm on the road to Harvard because I mastered the doggie door on the first try. (It's a household record!) I love to play with my foster siblings big and small. We eat, sleep, play and play some more. Going on car rides and walks are some of my favorite hobbies! I've yet to meet a stranger and everyone I meet tells me I am super sweet. I'm extremely food motivated which means teaching me commands will be a breeze. Please come soak up every puppy minute with me as I promise you won't regret my puppy snuggles! Plus it's the best feeling in the world to watch a puppy grow up!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step.
