Canaan is a Heeler/pyranees mix (dob: 10/16/21). Not a big dog at only 50 lbs Original owner rehomed to a family friend at around two months old. New owners did not complete his vetting so we had it done. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is now microchipped and his heartworm test was negative. He is good with other dogs, cats, kids, teenagers and adults. He has to learn to trust at first. Housebroken, crate trained. Great temperament. Very loving and playful dog. He would be a great walking Buddy or jogging partner. Commands he knows: sit, wait, leave it, back (when you want him to back up out of a space), out, crate, bed, place, quiet, outside, potty, get a toy, come, walks well on a leash, get in the car. He’s super easy to train, very willing to please and loves treats. Sweet and smart, ready to join your family. He holds stuffed toys in his mouth for comfort and doesn’t destroy them. Rougi (Roo-GEE) my boy. The first male dog I have ever had and what a journey him and I have had. I found Rougi on a craigslist ad. He was adorable and had a really cool color pattern. I drove out to meet his old owner and when I saw him I knew that was my boy. He has been by myside everyday since. He is extremely loyal. He likes his space but, when he wants affection he will push his way to me and lay in my lap. He does not require a leash for walks as he will be right by myside no matter what happens around us. He is a very low maintenance dog with regards to affection. He loves his daily walks. He is a chunk though. Loves treats and food. Just like my other dog Luna. I would love to keep Rougi and Luna, but my wife and I have started to have kids of or own and as space runs short and the amount of time we are able to give these two babies gets less and less. We feel it is best to get them new homes were they can be truly appreciated and given more time and affection.

Anna is the sweetest puppy. She has been growing up in a foster home waiting patiently for her family to come find her. While she is waiting she is working hard on her puppy manners to be able to show her family how smart she is. Anna is curious and has the cutest head tilt when something confuses her. In her foster home she has grown up around 2 small boys, and loves to play tug and ball with them. She loves to sit with them while they watch tv and is amazing at cleaning up their spills under the table. She LOVES toys! The more the better. Squeaky, crinkle, stuffed.. it's all awesome! She also loves tennis balls and will bring them back for you to throw again and again. Anna loves her foster-dog siblings and loves to play with them. At night, she's a cuddle expert while you read or watch tv. She is super at sleeping the whole night in her crate. At bedtime she will jump right in her crate. Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. My girl has been with me for two and a half years. I love her dearly but I have to find her a new home. I have a new grandson that I now babysit every week and cannot take the dog. She is very energetic and i live in a townhome with no backyard. She adores me and is a very loyal pet. She minds well. She sits, stays, lays down, shakes, plays ball and speaks! She sleeps in bed with me every night and gives me kisses on command. Her favorite thing is chasing squirrels and she would have been an excellent herder! She is absolutely beautiful and her breeder chose not to cut her tail so she has a gorgeous fan tail. She accepts other dogs once she gets used to them, but is very protective and territorial of me. She would make a great pet for someone looking for an older trained dog that perhaps has a large backyard or property. She has been through behavioral training also. She is my heart and it has to be the right home.
