Story
Xanthi is an adorable girl who has been waiting to find a true family who understands her breed's needs and gives her time and space to bloom into the wonderful companion she is.Xanthi is curious and a great explorer. She loves sniffaris and new places to go on exciting adventures. And she is also a cuddle bug and mellow when she is home. She will love to stay close to you, to sleep on the bed and play with her favorite chew toys when you are a little busy to play with her.She is food motivated and a quick learner, but would rather decompress before engaging in any activity requiring her focus and attention. She is overall a balanced dog, with a contagious positive vibe and a pleasing nature.Xanthi may ocassionaly bark at passer-byes or certain dogs to alert you of their presence and let you know she may need space, but can be easily redirected. A long lead and a ball are her absolute dream and she will happily go on trails and hikes and stick with you through any fun activities you have planned any given day!She is not extremely high energy, but would need someone who has the commitment and patience to show her the world and all it has to offer. ##2050429##

We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2059610##

Story
Darling Donovan is now a little over 6mo old and he’s ready for his own, forever home. He is only 25lbs and should be about 30 when he’s full grown. According to dna, he is a Boxer, Pomeranian (although not fluffy), Cattle Dog, mixed with a few other breeds. We think the Pom is what keeps him so small. Donovan is a little shy when first meeting, but he opens up quickly to become an affectionate, social boy. He is very quiet and has such a gentle temperament, and he loves kids so he would be a great addition to a home with school age children. He loves to spend his day playing his foster siblings and relaxing with them in the sun. He does exceptionally well when he can play and socialize with larger dogs and they help build his confidence do he must have another dog in the home. He is wonderful with the kitties, too. Donovan still needs more leash training but he's very smart is learning quickly. His foster mom is also doing a great job potty training him so in just a couple more days he’ll be fully house trained. He must have a securely fenced yard and because of his young age, he should not be left alone for more than 4-5hr intervals.

Story
Darling Duchess is about 2.5yrs old and weighs a tiny 30lbs. She can be a little reserved when first meeting but with just a few treats and about 10 min to warm up, she becomes a very friendly affectionate girl. According to her DNA report, she is heeler, chihuahua, Pomeranian and Shepherd. We figure it’s the chihuahua and Pom that keeps her so small. She does have a temperament typical to a shepherd because she can be somewhat protective of her own home and people until she has a short time to get to know a new person that visits. Because of this, an adult only home is best. She can go into any other home and immediately be friendly and affectionate. She is really a silly, loving girl with everyone in her home. She loves to go on long walks and more preferably, jogging. She can be a bit insecure when first meeting some other dogs, but Duchess really does love other dogs of all sizes so another well socialized, playful dog in the home would be best. She loves to play with the kitties, too! After she’s had her playtime and exercise for the day, she enjoys cuddling with her people. She would also like to curl up in your lap for afternoon naps. She is a great mix of active and easy going! She is crate trained and already house trained. Duchess is very curious and will sometimes get into things that don’t belong to her so she should be crated when she is alone. She is a relatively quiet girl, just barking at the other animals when she wants them to give chase. Duchess does have a heart murmur, although the vet said there are no restrictions for her during exercise and playtime. She must have a 6ft securely fenced yard abd she should not be left alone for more than 6hr intervals. She must have an experienced dog owner to continue helping build her confidence when she meets other people and dogs while on leash.

Story
This very sweet girl is now 6mo old and she weighs only 17lbs. Her mama is only 30lbs and we expect her to be about 25lbs when she’s full grown. According to DNA, she is a mix of Cattle dog, Pomeranian, Boxer, Staffy and a number of other breeds. The mix has made an exceptionally sweet tempered, adorable girl! Cassidy is a curious puppy that likes to get out and explore. She is a bit timid though, so she may need a little encouragement. An experienced person that can help build her confidence is needed. She absolutely loves other dogs and cats and is more confident when she has a playmate so another animal in the home will also be best. She still needs basic training, but she is so smart and very eager to learn, especially if treats are involved. She is doing great with crate training as long as she has potty breaks every couple of hours. She does still need some help with house training. Cassidy is so gentle tempered and somewhat submissive so she’d be a great addition to a home with children over 6yrs old. She loves kids! She must have a 5ft or higher securely fenced fenced yard.

Story
Zeke and his sister were found dumped on a country road, hungry and alone. Zeke loves to go for walks and play in the yard. He loves to hang out and get rubs. He is very eager to please and will follow commands. He is still young so he will need guidance. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He is on the smaller side which makes him ideal for apartment or house living. He will need access to a yard for exercise.  Zeke can be transported to anywhere in the United States and Canada.    ##1534911##
