Story
Unfortunately we are at a point where we feel this is necessary. Ember is a 4 year old Miniature Aussie, he is very energetic but also loves to always be around you (almost too much) he take a bit to warm up to new people but does great when we are not around. He has been dealing with behavioral issues once we had our son who is now 2 years old and we have another on the way. He can be picky with other dogs and is very reactive to people and dogs when he’s on leash. We did have an incident where he got out 6 months ago and supposedly bit the delivery guy but it was very minor (still a big problem). He does not do well with kids and has snapped at our son a few times so now they are always separate. He needs a very active, experienced adopter that can work with him on these issues, he is very food motivated and would love a place he can run free.

Story
Tuck, or as I nick named him Rubber Tucky, is a special guy. He is affectionate, playful, energetic, and eager to learn about the world around him. He was an undersocialized, neglected dog in his previous home. He is in socialization training so he can learn the socialization with dogs he never got. He is improved on his walking and reactivity, and is able to go to parks and interact with other dogs. He is in need of someone able to invest in continuing his training at home and who is a strong handler and can command his attention. He's an aussie through and through - all the aussie traits you love, you'll find in Tuck. Tuck is looking for his forever home and would really like to meet you. Advised that he goes into a home with no kids or kids above 13 who understand dog etiquette. He would do best in a home without other dogs now. If you are dog savvy person and can apply Tucky's training, he'll make the best companion!

Story
Meet Duma! A spirited one-year-old Australian Shepherd from Oceanside, CA, whose zest for life is as vibrant as her tricolor coat and strikingly mismatched eyes—one a deep chocolate brown, the other an icy blue. Full of boundless energy, this playful girl is always ready for an adventure, whether it's romping with fellow canine companions, exploring new trails, or engaging in a rousing game of chase. If you're looking for a fun-loving, four-legged best friend who will keep you on your toes, Duma just might be your perfect match! Duma thrives on activity and would love a home where she can stretch her legs, preferably with a fenced yard or a family eager to take her on long, exciting walks. She’s a social butterfly with other dogs, making her an excellent playmate for a canine sibling who can match her enthusiasm. Snuggles are another one of her specialties—after a day of high-energy antics, she’s more than happy to curl up beside her favorite human and soak up some love! This intelligent girl has had some obedience training and is working on her “go-to-place” command. Like many clever dogs, she benefits from continued training and structure. Duma is crate-trained and comfortable being left alone for short periods, but her ideal guardian would have time to engage with her, offering both mental and physical stimulation. Duma does have a bit of a diva streak when it comes to her food and treats. She prefers to enjoy her meals without interruptions and can be protective of them. If she feels like someone other than her trusted person is trying to take her food away, she may get snippy. While she has never caused injury, she needs a home without young children who might not yet understand her need for personal space during mealtime. With patience, training, and proper management, she can continue to make progress in this area. Healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, Duma is ready to find a family that will embrace her playful spirit while understanding her needs. Could your home be the one where Duma’s next adventure begins? If you’re ready to welcome this energetic, affectionate girl into your life, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
**COCO - a victim of the war in Israel. Although outside our usual mission, we are compelled to help with her rescue to safety. Coco’s transportation costs are being sponsored by her rescuer in Israel. ID/NAME: DV24-016 / Coco SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female/45lbs/11months BIRTH DATE: 9/30/23 BREED: Australian Shepherd Mix VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER: Up-to-date vaccinations, spayed and overall healthy Hi! My name is Coco, and I am waiting to be adopted by my forever family! My siblings and I were born in Israel and found huddled together, living in terror shortly after the war started. A rescuer brought us into her home where we found love and safety. She saw that I had been injured and took me to a vet who determined that my left hind leg needed to be amputated. Thankfully, I have fully recovered and am very healthy. One by one, my siblings found their forever homes. All except me. I am told because I am missing a leg, it will take a little longer to find that special person to adopt me even though I recovered so well and have no complications! The veterinarian says nothing is wrong with my back leg and that many tripod dogs live happy lively lives. You should see me run and play with other dogs!! I am patiently waiting for my forever family. I know you’re out there. Will you be that special person for me? I would love to be free from the sounds of loud sirens and rockets. Lately, there have been many rocket blasts where my foster and I live. When we hear a siren, my foster has to quickly run to the nearest shelter for safety. She has two senior dogs of her own, so it is hard for her to take me as a third dog. I begin to tremble when I hear that sound and see her worried face as she closes the door, leaving me alone. I am in a complete panic when she returns. My foster always patiently calms me and tells me everything will be ok. And then it happens again and again….. Behaviour: Coco is very friendly, she lives here with two other dogs and a cat. Her rescuer has taken her to a trainer for the last 4 months. Coco is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She also knows how to sit, lay, and give a paw. Because she has to rely on her three legs, she will need a home where she is not expected to go on extended hikes. Coco is mostly quiet around the house but playful with the other dogs and kids. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Story
Chloe Hi, my name is Chloe. I am a sweet, gentle and a tiny bit shy girl. I am only shy because I wasn’t very well socialized. I am only seven months old, but I was kept on a chain all my life in a backyard. My previous people didn’t even give me a name. But finally, START Rescue has found me and took me on. I live with Isaac, my dog trainer, who is fabulous and works with me a lot. He taught me how to walk on a leash, how to socialize with other dogs and people. I love all of these by the way!! I am ready to be adopted by a loving family. My wishlist is the following. 1. A family who loves me and I get a lot of ears scratches and belly rubs from 2. A family who enjoys to take walks 3. I want a cozy bed to sleep on and not to be left in a backyard all by myself 4. I enjoy yummy foods and treats.
