He loves going for walks and gives the occasional bark at the squirrels he sees, he is only trying to protect his lady!! His whispy coat looks like a majestic unicorn blowing in the wind when he gallops in his foster moms backyard.He is timid of strangers and needs time to adjust to new people coming into the house, he is not aggressive at all but is a cautious little guy. Who can blame him when he was abandoned on a property with a bunch of other furry friends left to fend for himself. Meet Summer! Howdy, they call me Summer because I bring the sunshine, happiness and laughter to every party! I am 1 year old and I love like there is no tomorrow and am as gentle as you need me to be. When my foster family first said yes to me, they had zero clue just how sick I really was, because I showed as little as possible that side of me. And showed them nothing but the happy, grateful, playful side of me. If that gives you any idea of how laid back temperament wise I am. Ideally I would love to find an active family or adult who will give me endless car rides if they like, or all the cuddles and wiggly butt smiles they can take, or what ever adventure they may have in mind.I do have a lot of energy, but if you aren't as energetic that is okay too! I LOVE CATCH!!!!! I light up when you throw a ball for me and I will come rushing back to drop the ball back near your feet. I am that girl! Nutmeg is approximately 4 years old and is a red heeler mix. He is always happy and gets along with other dogs and currently lives in a household with a cat. He is moderately playful and willing to follow other dogs leads. Because of his herding instinct he does nip at strangers that come on his turf. We aren't sure how he is with small children but believe he will do well with older ones. Nutmeg is housetrained, neutered and current on his vaccines. He doesn't like being in a crate so is loose in the house or outside. We feel he would be fine in a one dog family providing his human(s) has the desire and plenty of time to spend with him. A home visit is part of his adoption process so he is available for adoption in the immediate DFW area only. Hi there! My name is Cloud, and I`ve staying at the Grand Prairie Animal Shelter. Despite my name, I have a sunny personality!While I`ve been at the shelter, I`ve learned and felt alot of new things. I have learned to trust people. When I first arrived, I felt uneasy about everyone. But now, I like when people come up and talk to me! I`ve noticed that people, big and small, feel happy when I let them scratch behind my ears, and I feel happy too! One lady even kisses me all over my face. It`s fine... I just wipe them off when she`s not looking... I learned what `sit` means. It means cookies!! I love sitting. Maybe when you walk by my kennel, I will bark or jump at the window.
