**COURTESY LISTING- THIS IS NOT AN EPIC DOG. PLEASE CONTACT CAN.ADOPTIONS@YAHOO.COM FOR INFORMATION***   SWEET SWEET SWEET!  Found as a stray dumped in the country.  Amazingly, Finn has a great temperament and has been evaluated by an accredited behaviorist.  He passed all his tests with flying colors.   Finn is about 18 months old, neutered, current on vaccinations, hw negative and microchipped.  He is learning about toys in his foster home and how to live inside.  He is a little shy with other dogs but will warm up with proper introductions.  Finn LOVES people!  He kissed the vet, the tech, and everyone in the waiting room at the vet clinic.   Finn is very smart and catches on quickly to what you are teaching him.  He will make a fabulous addition to the right family.   For more information on adopting Finn, please email can.adoptions@yahoo.com or call 903-967-3226. Story
Merlin is a very handsome Border Collie mix. He is two years old and weighs about 42 lbs - not too big, not too small, just right! Merlin came to Humane Tomorrow as a very shy and fearful dog, and while new things still scare him a little, at home he is a totally normal dog now. He loves to run around in the backyard, playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He really must have another playful dog to help him settle in to his new home and feel comfortable. Merlin also needs lots of sturdy chew toys and he LOVES to play fetch (but he'll chew up a tennis ball in nothing flat, so Kong-type toys are best). Merlin is a smart dog, and he will sit perfectly when waiting for the nightly treats. He is ok going for short walks and car rides (but remember - new things do scare him). He will be perfectly content to play and exercise in his own backyard where it's safe and familiar. He's probably always going to startle at loud noises and be cautious around new people, but he's getting a little braver every day. Merlin will be fine with anyone once he gets to know them, but he can play a little rough so kids over 10 are probably best for him. Merlin is an affectionate, playful, devoted dog who just needs someone who accepts him for who he is.

Story
Frankie was born in 2017 and has been with us since 2018. Frankie is a little on the nervous side with new people and needs a new family that will give him a little time to come out of his shell because of a neurological disorder. Once he does though, he would love to have a space to run around and act like his big goofy self! He is not a fan of the kennel, but does well in a yard and is calm once he is comfortable with his settings. He loves to play with fetch and play with ropes. He is a very smart boy. His most favorite thing is to curl of in your lap and give kisses.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

Story
Kiwi is a super playful and smart girl. She even plays gently with smaller creatures like cats and rabbits. She is potty trained and has caught on quickly to simple commands like Sit and Stay. Kiwi is shy at first but quickly warms up. She was born 6/29/2019We got Kiwi & Peaches from the shelter as itty bitty pups, and soon found out that both of them had CHV (Canine Herpesvirus). Most puppies die at 2 weeks from this, however these two were fighters and besides runny noses here and there, are doing really well. They can have it the rest of their lifes and will be sick from time to time and because there is just not a lot documented on situations like this we have no idea what their future health could be. They should never be around puppies or attend public places or events.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. Story
Sweet Opal was found in February 2021 with her babies. She was completely feral and seemed like she had never had human contact. She went to a foster home where she got to spend time with her babies until they were ready to be adopted. As soon as she was ready, she was brought to our facility where she would be in contact with more people and start socializing and trusting people. It has taken several months but the staff and volunteers can walk her on a leash a little bit more each day. Her friend Huey gives her more confidence. She would do good in a home where she can come and have her space and take her time to warm up. She will shy away and but does not get aggressive at all. That's the reason we want her to make a smooth transition when finding her forever home. Opal would do great with a doggie sibling that could teach her to accept love and learn to be a happy trusting dog. We love her at the rescue and hope she finds that family to love and trust. Opal is believed to be between 2 and 3 years old. She is spayed and up to date on shots.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Wichita Falls, TX Meet Jolie! She is an 6 month old Australian Shepherd and weighs 19 lbs. She is up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t spayed. Jolie is nervous around strangers! She is good with kids and cats! No smaller dogs, due to her reactivity! Jolie wasn’t socialized while in her previous home, so she has some leash reactivity. She is fearful of bigger dogs and will need slow introductions to any dog that she meets. She is housebroken (for the most part and will let you know when she needs to go out) and crate-trained. The owner is surrendering her because she plays too rough with their other dog and her other dog is afraid of her. The owner is also expecting a new baby and won’t be able to provide the time and attention that Jolie needs. She needs to find a new home by 8/25. If you think you can provide a great home for Jolie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Jolie. Owner’s Contact Information: Cassandra cassie.sue.carpenter@gmail.com

Story
What have you heard about Aussies? Smart? Yes, that’s Lucy! Trainable? Definitely Lucy! Good with children, other dogs, and cats? That describes Lucy! This adorable Australian shepherd mix is everything one might want in a dog: loving, intelligent, eager to please, quick to learn, gets along with everyone. Lucy comes when called, sits on command, and is currently learning other commands like “wait” and “stay.” This sweet girl loves to wrestle with her canine siblings, she is eager to go on walks, and she enjoys car rides, especially when they end with her getting a pup cup! However, Lucy’s favorite activity of all is to snuggle with her humans. Lucy will need someone who has the time for both activity and extensive together time. She definitely has some separation anxiety, although like every other lesson, she is diligently working on getting better. She can now sleep in a crate all night, but she is ready to be with her humans as soon as they start stirring. Lucy is not destructive, but she gets extremely stressed when left alone for extended periods. OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE.
