Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions***   Gina is a 3 month old puppy who arrived at LHS after being found stray with significant burns. Gina has been in foster care healing from her wounds and is now ready to find her family. Her fur is regrowing and she’s ready to go! This survivor deserves the best home ever! Gina is a sweet girl who likes to play! She is a loving puppy who loves to play with just about any type of toy. She’s been partial this week to learning how to fetch. She can play alone for periods of time and really likes to bring toys to her favorite human to play with her. Gina loves to play outside but currently needs to wear a doggie shirt to protect her skin from the intense summer sun. She is very smart and observant so she’s learning manners a little more every day. She is crate trained over night and for short periods during the day. She is working on potty training and is doing well with a potty routine and attentive adult. She enjoys the dogs in her foster home and does well with the cats in the home.      Current weight 11 lbs Projected weight 40+   We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes her spay, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. If you're interested in meeting or adopting her, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/   Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS approved vet to be spayed in August of 2024 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance with Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from that outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Hi my name is Teddy and I am ready to find my forever family. I’m full of fun loving energy and adore long walks through the neighborhood and playing ball in the backyard. (I’ll help you keep that exercise resolution you made!) I enjoy roughhousing with my foster brother and sister, so an energetic canine sibling would be just grand. I have not been officially cat tested, but enjoy barking at and pulling on the leash to chase the cats I see on my daily walks. Being that I am still a puppy at a year old and 40 pounds, I will do best with kids over 10, although I do fine with tiny humans as young as a year old for short periods of time. I am 100% potty trained, vetted and crate trained. Although I can be vocal in the crate, I don't play Houdini and make great escapes. I am being fostered in Amarillo but can travel to my new family. I am healthy, neutered, and fully vaccinated.

Story
Meet Estee, a sweet 9-year-old Border Collie with the heart of a puppy and a playful spirit that never fades! Estee was rescued from a hoarding situation, but despite her past, she absolutely loves people and is happiest when she’s by your side, sharing in every moment. She’s incredibly friendly, great with kids, and always wagging her tail at everyone she meets—both human and canine. Estee is learning to sit, is potty trained (but does best with a puppy pad available just in case), and doesn’t mind riding in the car, though she’s not a big fan of being in a crate. While she can get a bit of a one-track mind when chasing her favorite toy, her enthusiasm is part of her charm. Estee has so much love to give. She’s truly the sweetest little senior, full of energy and joy, looking for a forever home where she can spend her days surrounded by love and warmth. If you're searching for a loyal companion, Estee is the perfect match! 🐾❤️ please apply to adopt at bcrrt.com

Story
Dug is a sweet, loving, cuddle bug! He is healthy, neutered, vaccinated, 47 lb, 5-6 years old. He is being rehomed due to anxiety he began to exhibit around owner's one year old. Dug loves to play and he plays well with other dogs. He is a big fan of frisbee, tug, chasing the remote control car, and running alongside us when we rollerblade. He loves being in the car and going on adventures. He's incredibly friendly and gives the best cuddles and snuggles. He walks well on a leash, is house trained (and doggy-door trained), he does well getting his nails trimmed and dremmeled, and is patient when he gets a bath. He loves to be lazy on the couch just as much as he loves to play. Dug does show some signs of anxiety in new environments so introductions need to be slow and calm, and he will need plenty of adjustment time in your home. He should not be in a home with small children - otherwise, he is a great dog!

Story
Marshall  I’m Marshall, born April 18, 2024, which makes me almost 4 months weighing in at just about 20 lbs! I get along great with other dogs, cats, tiny humans. I love swimming, play in water, playing with toys, and of course playing with the big dogs. I am a little brave one always looking for my next adventure. I follow around my foster moms 4 year old son and love playing with him. I am eager to find my forever home.  I sleep through the night in a crate, with a puppy pad just in case.  My foster mom works from home but I also do crate time for practice. I learn quick but also like to chew and chill out.  I am looking for a home that will understand that I'm just a baby, still potty training and learning commands. I really want doggy friends and tiny humans are a plus.  Please fill out an application (they take a hot minute to fully complete) so we can meet!

Story
Hi I'm Hawk! I am the sweetest little boy on the block and I would love my very own furever family! My birthday was April 18, 2024. I am a fast learner, know how to go potty as soon as I hit the grass, but could use a little more coaching to be one hundred percent potty trained. I'm a big fan of the belly rubs. I'll roll right over for them if I know you. If someone new comes over, I might get a little scared for a bit until I find out they're nice. I am just little you know. They called me the runt of the litter. My foster mom is my safe place. I like her a lot, she give me lots of pets and food. I saw a tiny frog the other night and I hopped along right behind it trying to get my nose close enough to sniff because it was weird and different and cool. My foster dad picked me up though so I didn't ever find out what it smelled like. I'm pretty mellow, but I get the zoomies sometimes. I'm not sure what they are either but when my foster parents talk about it they laugh and laugh. It must be a good thing. I can't wait to meet you, so make sure you fill out the app at bcrrt.com with my name, Hawk, because that's how they said I can find you!

Story
Meet Nimoy. This 10-year-old handsome gentleman is just that. A gentleman. He has very good house manners and gets along well with other dogs, large and small. He is not good with cats. He has not been tested with small children.  He loves people and craves attention and love. Nimoy came from a very loving home and sadly lost it when his previous owner died along with his canine companion leaving him with no home, so he came to rescue. Here is what we know about him: He walks well on a leash and knows sit, stay and come. He is house trained but not crate trained. He has severe separation anxiety but is fine if he has a canine companion to stay with him when his people are gone. He would not be a good dog for a first-time dog owner as he does have some issues that would require someone with some experience to work through. In summary, the perfect home for Nimoy would be with experienced dog owners with patience and knowledge to continue to help him work through some issues that most likely have resulted from the loss of his family. He needs a calm home without cats, preferably with a canine companion. I would not recommend a home with small children. He is UTD on all vaccines, neutered, and on HW and Flea and Tick preventative. Are you that perfect home to provide Nimoy with his soft spot to land and spend his golden years? If so please go to the website below and fill out an application. BCRRT is a Texas based rescue with fosters in TX and OK. Our adoption areas are TX, OK and surrounding states, we do not allow shipping/transport of dogs to other states. Story
Lady was adopted as a puppy with her littermate from a family in Oklahoma whose dogs had one of those unexpected surprise litters that occur when two unaltered pets live together. As most sibling cases go, Lady and her sibling are no longer getting along, and the family has decided it would be best to find Lady a home where the siblings are no longer living together.  She does get along with other dogs. She has not been around cats, but we can cat test of needed. Lady is a young doggie who sometimes doesn't know her own size and can easily knock down toddlers on accident so she would do best in a home with teenagers. She is crate trained and housebroken. Lady is very smart, loving and will make a wonderful pet for a couple or family with older children.  Lady has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and all ready for a forever home to call her own.  If you are interested in more information and or meeting Lady, please complete the online application here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society DOB: 10/22/2022 Weight: 54lbsWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
