Story
I recently lost my person and am looking for my new home. You’ll find me to be well-trained, including house trained and crate trained. I’m a healthy guy and am up to date on all of my vaccines. I’m a perfect size and do great in the car. I have very expressive ears! Sometimes they are both up, both down or one up and one down. I’m very smart and curious, but just take a little time to warm up. Once I’m comfortable with you, I’ll be your best buddy. I’d do best in a home with respectful children 12 years and older. I would love to be your only pet so I can focus all my attention on you with lots of cuddles.

Meet Maxesote! Maxesote is a sweet and affectionate 3-year-old male rat terrier/chi mix with a charming brown coat and a petite size, weighing just 14 lbs. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has passed his 4DX test, making him ready for his forever home. Personality:Maxesote is the definition of a companion dog! After a vet check-up and some much-needed TLC in a foster home, Maxesote is now ready to find his forever family. What He’s Looking For:Maxesote dreams of a loving home where he can be pampered and cherished. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Fiona came from a shelter to us half bald.  She appeared to have lived her life infested with fleas and fed a poor diet.  With a grain free, chicken free diet and keeping flea medication on her, all of her fur has come back in nicely.   She's come out of her shell now that she's feeling healthy and is a sweet, delightful little girl.  She even plays with some other dogs now, just not the rambunctious, in her face personalities.  She is reserved when meeting new people though so someone just needs to give her a chance to acclimate to them and you'll have a wonderful companion.  We have discovered that she doesn't like men.  She's very fearful of them and it's not the reaction of a dog not handled much or at all by men in the past but rather that she's been mistreated by a man.   She's got the look of a chi x pom cross but may be just a mix with one or the other.  Who can keep her healthy and give her a loved rest of her life? Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 21, 2025, 12:45 pm

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. BUDDY is about 15#. He is most likely a Chihuahua mix but the mix has made him a little larger than most Chihuahuas. My scanner app on my phone said possibly 8% Kishu Ken; 7.2% Portuguese Podengo; and 7% Rat Terrier. The darkness around his eyes is the natural color of his hair... not weepy eyes. His DOB is approximately 6/1/23. He came from a family that had 6 kids and one was autistic. This child was too rough with the cat and Buddy so the owner surrendered for the dog’s sake. He’s really a VERY happy dog Here is what the foster had to say of him: BUDDY is a real country boy. He came from a home in the country. He can be quite an escape artist out the front door if allowed. You need to provide a steps beside the bed because he has a difficult time getting up on his own. He is definitely food motivated and having come from a home with 6 kids, he definitely likes human food. He will escort you to every room in the house to make sure you don’t get lost. He loves to play with… dogs, cats, and PIGS!! Buddy is the perfect family dog. While he has a tiny shadow, he has a big heart. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
