Story
Hi, I am Pily,Are you looking for a young gal who is calm, loving, and playful, then look no more, I am here. I can be a bit shy at first, but I am very friendly with people and other dogs. I live with cats but mostly I ignore them. I love to be close to my human boy and sleep on his bed. I am very affectionate and love to be petted.I am very calm for a young pup and I walk well on or off a leash. I am not a big fan of toys, but I do like car rides. I am very affectionate and love to be with my people. I am house trained too.The beach is fun, but I take my time going in the water. If it sounds like I would be a good addition to your family, fill in the adoption application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Lots of love to give,Pily To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. Story
Meet Ivy! Ivy is a spunky, 8-pound, smooth coat Chihuahua that loves to play, but also loves to sleep next to you for a nice long nap after a play sessions (humans, dogs, toys) or a nice bully stick chew stint. She sleeps in her crate and can be alone while you run an errand or at night.  She is extremely easy to train and loves food whether it is her kibble (wet or dry) or treats/cookies.  She is easily trained and goes outside to potty. She is currently living with 7 foster (dog) siblings.  Her favorite activities are hanging out next to you on the couch or in bed, chewing a bone, and going for a walk.  She can be a bit intimidated by bicycles that appear with no warning and isn’t sure strollers and scooters should be legal, but she recovers immediately and is ready to continue on with her excursion. Ivy really needs another dog to play with in her new home. She will do best in a home with a yard, where she can zoom around to her hearts content. She plays consistently with a fellow 8 pound sibling, but engages the larger 15-18 pound siblings too.  She isn’t a Chihuahua that is scared of everything in the world!  She never met a treat she wouldn’t take from complete strangers.   Respectful dog savvy children that are a bit older would be best since she is very small.  She can dart quickly out from under feet when they unexpectedly come too close.    If you are looking for a companion to add to your world for the next 15 years, Ivy would make a perfect addition!  Please complete an application if you would like to know more information regarding Ivy. Ivy is vaccinated, chipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Albert is a playful, energetic, and fiercely loyal companion, ready to be his favorite person’s shadow in life. He is a very good listener who responds to “sit”, “spin”, and even “kennel up”. Albert has also grown accustomed to his at-home grooming sessions. He will happily stand in the bath while you shampoo him, or sit in front of you as you brush his luscious locks. His favorite hobby is playing and snuggling with his foster chihuahua brother. He is also living with two foster cat siblings, respecting their boundaries as rulers of the household. While he may be nervous and shy at first, he warms up very quickly to those who show him lots of love! His main motivations in life are words of affirmation and chest rubs, but he can also be bribed with food/treats. He is very much used to hunkering down in his kennel as he has been recovering from surgery to repair his broken femur. This also means he is always inclined to be your lap buddy in times of relaxation. Albert is well on his way to recovery after his surgery, training and using his renewed leg like nobody’s business! Soon, he’ll be ready to take on the world one leap at a time. When you’re ready for an adaptable, sweet, and energetic cuddle buddy, Albert will be your most loyal companion.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. Story
Meet Ginny! This tiny cutie pie is a hoot! Ginny is a friendly and fun little Chihuahua mix puppy. She is good with all people and other dogs - though may need a minute to warm up. She loves to play and goof around and she is so funny to watch. She is just a baby and does not quite yet know how to walk on a leash so she will need someone to help her learn.  Ginny has a high pitched bark that she will use to alert so she is not suitable for an apartment. She will be very happy in a home with a fenced yard where she can run around and explore, and possibly with a little friend to play with. Ginny will be vaccinated and microchipped. She will be spayed around 8 months of age at our cost. Her adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
