Story
If you're looking for a buddy to be your best friend for all of life's ups, downs, and in-betweens, Arlo would like to be that for you! At 1-year-old, Arlo is peppy and sweet, and learning all about the world around him. Arlo can be a bit shy in new situations, but he's working on gaining confidence every day. His foster family is impressed with how quickly he's exploring more of the house, the yard, and initiating play with the other dogs. We don't know if Arlo's ever lived with cats, so any introductions to resident felines should be done slowly. Arlo does well with other dogs but it takes him some time to feel comfortable around other dogs, and introductions shouldn't be rushed. Arlo will likely do well with dog-experienced, older kids who can handle him gently and let him settle in at his own pace. Arlo is not a fit for an apartment or condo and would benefit from a quiet neighborhood. If you're ready to welcome home this precious pup, send in an adoption application for him today!

Story
Meet M&M! Marshmallow and Mac are a bonded pair of pups on the search for their new family. These cuties are about 6 and 8 years old, and full of plenty of pep. Marshmallow adores playing with stuffy toys and Mac loves going for walks. And they both love snuggling with their humans! These two cuties haven't lived with cats before but enjoy chasing and barking at outdoor cats they see. Any resident cats should be dog savvy, and introductions should be done slowly. Marshmallow and Mac can be nervous around dogs they don't know and take time to adjust. These two will likely do well with older kids who can handle them gently. If you're ready to double the cute, love, and fun in your home, make an adoption appointment to meet these two today! #bondedpair #playful #cuddler

Story
Animal Profile:  Gully is an estimated 3-year-old black and white female chihuahua/terrier mix  joining us from Fresno Animal Care Center. She was found as a stray and held by the finder for a few days looking for an owner but no one came. She was assessed to be shy but friendly with people and dogs. Gully is currently 18lbs, but she is on a weight loss journey to reach her ideal weight of ~13lbs. Foster Update: Meet Gully! This special girl is excited to find her forever home. Full of spunk and energy, this girl won't leave you bored. She will gladly engage in a game of tug and chase, and she will go for hours if you let her =) With her zest for life, comes an eagerness to learn. Gully loves nothing more than clear direction from her human, as she is eager to learn her expectations and excel at her tasks (then get rewarded for it). She has been learning leash manners when out and about, and has learned the place command when at home. Gully is looking for a forever home that can continue to expand her basic obedience and help her build confidence in the outside world through leadership. Having a confident handler on leash has helped transform Gully from being fearful and reacting to passing dogs, to being able to pass them calmly and with confidence. Her forever human will need to feel comfortable to continue to advocate for her and keep up on her leash manners. Gully does amazing in her crate and sleeps through the night soundly, as well as for spurts of time throughout the day. High-value chews are one of her favorite rewards, and she has become quite fond of antler ears or yak chews. She is making progress with her potty training; she will take care of business anytime she is out on a walk, but we are still working on learning her signals on when she needs to go out. A consistent routine will help immensely for keeping up the progress with her potty training. Gully has been fostered with another small dog, and she engages in play often. Her play style can be a bit more dominant. Gully would enjoy a canine companion that compliments her energy and play style, but she wouldn't mind being the only dog either.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from the Fresno Animal Center.  She arrives on 12/17 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 19, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
Animal Profile: Darla is a sweet 9 lb Chihuahua that joined us from Texas where she was found wandering as a stray. More to come as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Darla has a spunky personality and loves to cuddle on the couch with her people. She is house trained and crate trained, and does fine being alone for a typical 8-hour work day. She enjoys the company of other small dogs, but would be happy to be an only as well. Darla is a little more insecure around big dogs, but warms up to them once she realizes she won't get stepped on. She has a strong preference towards women, as she can be nervous around men. Darla would be fine in a household with dog-respectful, older children.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate.
