Story
Animal Profile: Midge is a tiny cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle . She is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs just 5 pounds. Midge is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW! Foster Update: Miss Midge says you can keep your long walks on the beach, your mountain hikes, and your Sunday mornings at the Farmer’s Market. You can also save your tennis balls and squeaky toys for a dog that cares. Midge is a card-carrying introvert and the first two words in her love language are Warm and Safe. This gentle and quiet soul chooses to spend most of the day napping in her heated she-shed (crate). If you want to woo this sweet girl, you’d be wise to invest in warm blankets, heating pads and tiny winter sweaters. She gets COLD! Midge was plucked from the toasty SW desert, and she does not appreciate our beautiful, crisp fall and winter weather. Don’t get me wrong, Midge isn’t standoffish. Once she feels safe, she will greet you with the most adorable wiggles and kisses. However, she is very sensitive and would do best in a nurturing, serene, adult-only household. She is polite with our small resident dog but doesn’t seek out his attention. Midge has gained confidence in the safe space of her foster home, but we are still working with her to gain confidence in the outside world. A walk on unknown territory is met with a "I'll pass" from Midge. While Midge doesn't seek out attention from the resident, another confident canine companion in the home may just show Midge the ropes.  Bonus – Midge sleeps through the night like a champ, and she likes to sleep late!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is arriving from San Bernadino via Wiggle Butts Transport on Sunday 10/20/2024. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area. December 31, 2024, 2:40 pm

Story
Animal Profile:  Cricket is a very petite cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle.  She is estimated to be 5 year old, and weighs only 5.5 pounds! Cricket   is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Update: A true cuddle-bug at heart, Cricket is the definition of a "velcro dog." She loves nothing more than to be held close, nestled in your arms, curled up on your lap, or snuggled up in her little bed next to you on the couch. She's a champion sleeper and will happily snooze the day away by your side. Don't be surprised if she tries to climb into your coat or sweater for maximum snuggles! We like to call her the pocket-sized pup with a big personality. This little lady has a big personality packed into a tiny frame. She loves to prance around and be the center of attention. Cricket enjoys car rides and errands, always ready to be your stylish copilot. While Cricket is friendly with our small resident dog, she's not overly interested in playing with him. She'll cutely scrabble around the floor chasing a toy of choice, but really prefers to spend her time cuddling. She's a quiet girl who is also crate-trained and sleeps great through the night. She has done pretty well with her potty training, but will still need a consistent routine to get the hang of things.  Cricket would enjoy an adult-only home where she can be an active member of the family. She'll make an awesome companion while you work; glad to be burrowed in a warm blanket nearby. True to her chihuahua nature, she loves a good sunbathing opportunity and she thrives with leadership. She is loyal, and bonds quick & hard. She'll thrive with a family that can be the confident leader in the household, where she can follow the lead rather than feel the need to take on the role as pack leader.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Story
Animal Profile: Jackie is a 1 year old, 10lb chihuahua that has been through it in her short life.Jackie was dumped in a graveyard in Texas with her brother, covered in mange. Once she received treatment and was healthy, she made her way to the PNW, with kennel cough. She recovered from that in foster care, and was adopted. Long story short due to a horrible accident in surgery for a potential obstruction, Jackie lost 75% of her small intestines. Her owner was unable to provide the care she needed during her recovery, and since she was suffering from short bowel syndrome she needed round the clock care. Jackie was returned to the rescue and put in the care of the Assistant Director. Medication and prescription food weren’t working to address her symptoms, so we attacked it from the nutrition side. With lots of patience and a quality diet of Honest Kitchen, dehydrated carrots, and a high dose of digestive herbs and enzymes, Jackie has normal, solid, pick upable poops!!  She did so well at an event with 75+ people, she can be shy but girl doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She loves other dogs, big and small, and even plays with cats! She is healthy and ready to find her forever home.   Jackie will need to be fed a special diet (Honest Kitchen) and supplements when adopted. Her body does not digest kibble well, and she does best on less processed, human-grade foods. Foster Update: Jackie is incredibly curious and goes with the flow. She's got lots of spunk and knows how to go go go, but also has a nice off switch when it comes to snuggling. She loves to play with the resident dogs in her foster home, and would do well with a canine companion or two but it isn't a requirement. Jackie is good in her crate and has good leash manners. She loves attention and is very affectionate. Basically anytime I have taken her out of the crate she jumps up to try and snuggle(we are working on curbing the jumping up part). She is very comfortable being carried and held and will be a wonderful addition to one lucky family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Animal Advocacy & Rescue our partner in Del Rio Texas and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 04/15/2024 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. December 22, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Vixen is an adorable chihuahua mix who is estimated to be around 7 years old and weighs ~18lbs. She was rescued from Moreno Valley shelter in CA.  Foster Update: Vixen's foster mom shares, "She is a sweet girl who LOVES her humans, toys, toys and more toys and treats! She is settling in well, and has been pretty good with her potty habits and we are working on teaching her recall. She does just fine around our 2 dogs. She has played a few times with one of them and she is pretty respectful with the other one who doesn't really want anything to do with her, but she is inquisitive so it may take her a few times to learn not every pup is interested in engaging. Vixen doesn't mind being in her crate for meals, bedtime, etc. It isn't uncommon to catch Vixen playing with her toys by herself, but you may need to toss it once in a while.  It's her facial expressions that are truly priceless! She is a sweet, funny, and playful girl that is excited to find a forever family of her own. Because Vixen has shown a tendency to play with hands (we are working on this), she would do best in a home without young kids. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Story
Animal Profile: Joanne is an adorable Chihuahua mix who was rescued from a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, CA. She is estimated to be around 8 years old and weighs 15 lbs.  Foster Update: Meet Joanne! She is a very sweet and friendly gal. She has only one desire and that is being with her human, whether it is sitting on the couch or snuggled under a warm blanket. She doesn't ask for much and likes to live a simple life. She will take all the kisses you have to give and if you are lucky, she might give you a kiss back. Joanne is potty trained and crate trained in her foster home. It does take her a bit to warm up to you, but once she does you have a sweetheart to follow you around. Joanne is very mindful of her people but can be stubborn with learning basic commands. She is food motivated, and with structure she will get there. She happily coexists with our resident dogs, but mainly keeps to herself. Her best feature is her adorable ears. She is also a proper young lady and politely crosses her paws when laying down. If you want a no-fuss companion, then Joanne is your pup to meet! WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Milton - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous folks out there, I'm here to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say is ALL mine!! I'm dreaming of that special family that will take a chance on making that wish a reality. I don't need a lot, just a soft place to lay my head, a bowl of my own and some love! I am around 8 years old and came from a hoarding situation of 96 dogs all in a small house, yes 96 dogs, where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I would do great in a quieter home where my person(s) could work from home or are retired and I would probably do best in a home without smaller kiddos. I do great with people once I get to know them, I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. I am crate trained but will need some continued work on housetraining but I do know to use potty pads. My chill easy going personality will make for me being a great companion pup for just about any family, even a first time pet parent. I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was only to step out to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet! If you would like a FBF(furry best friend) to help you with your errand runs, a constant in your life to share in your joys and sorrows...oh my, I AM your boy!!!! I come in at about 15lbs of pure love ready to unleash it ALL on you. If you think we could be a perfect match please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org
