Story
Animal Profile:  Gully is an estimated 3-year-old black and white female chihuahua/terrier mix  joining us from Fresno Animal Care Center. She was found as a stray and held by the finder for a few days looking for an owner but no one came. She was assessed to be shy but friendly with people and dogs. Gully is currently 18lbs, but she is on a weight loss journey to reach her ideal weight of ~13lbs. Foster Update: Meet Gully! This special girl is excited to find her forever home. Full of spunk and energy, this girl won't leave you bored. She will gladly engage in a game of tug and chase, and she will go for hours if you let her =) With her zest for life, comes an eagerness to learn. Gully loves nothing more than clear direction from her human, as she is eager to learn her expectations and excel at her tasks (then get rewarded for it). She has been learning leash manners when out and about, and has learned the place command when at home. Gully is looking for a forever home that can continue to expand her basic obedience and help her build confidence in the outside world through leadership. Having a confident handler on leash has helped transform Gully from being fearful and reacting to passing dogs, to being able to pass them calmly and with confidence. Her forever human will need to feel comfortable to continue to advocate for her and keep up on her leash manners. Gully does amazing in her crate and sleeps through the night soundly, as well as for spurts of time throughout the day. High-value chews are one of her favorite rewards, and she has become quite fond of antler ears or yak chews. She is making progress with her potty training; she will take care of business anytime she is out on a walk, but we are still working on learning her signals on when she needs to go out. A consistent routine will help immensely for keeping up the progress with her potty training. Gully has been fostered with another small dog, and she engages in play often. Her play style can be a bit more dominant. Gully would enjoy a canine companion that compliments her energy and play style, but she wouldn't mind being the only dog either.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from the Fresno Animal Center.  She arrives on 12/17 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 19, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
Animal Profile: Darla is a sweet 9 lb Chihuahua that joined us from Texas where she was found wandering as a stray. More to come as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Darla has a spunky personality and loves to cuddle on the couch with her people. She is house trained and crate trained, and does fine being alone for a typical 8-hour work day. She enjoys the company of other small dogs, but would be happy to be an only as well. Darla is a little more insecure around big dogs, but warms up to them once she realizes she won't get stepped on. She has a strong preference towards women, as she can be nervous around men. Darla would be fine in a household with dog-respectful, older children.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Hello hello everyone, my name is Dainty... small, elegant, feminine and adorableness galore! I'm around 2 years old and come in at about 7lbs. While I do attach myself and love my person will all these 7lbs I'm not the biggest fan of those unknown persons and will need a little encouragement when meeting new people. FYI...I do love my treats which is a great motivator! I do well with other pups and have even done well with the resident dog savvy kitty. I would do great in a home with a 4 legged 'sibling' or just as great getting all your attention as your one and only! But I would prefer a more quiet home without small children, maybe even where my person works from home or is retired. I am kind of scared of the leash and will need some slow introductions to being comfortable to go on neighborhood strolls. I will make a great companion and the greatest of confidantes from heart to heart conversations to keeping all your secrets. From my adorableness to my sweet (for my person) nature, I'm ready to be all I can be....will I be YOURS?!! Fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org
