Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sully! He is a 10-year-old Chihuahua (maybe some corgi) mix who weighs 15 lbs. He was in a previous rescue in CA but was sent to us as they thought his chances were better here in WA. He can be snuggly but also high-strung. He’s friendly and seeks out attention but he can give warning if he doesn’t know you and he feels you’re being more friendly than he wants you to be .The last rescue described him as a grumbly old man. He just needs need some room to make up his mind about trusting you. What’s great about Sully is he’s fun, goofy and energetic and loves to go for walks. He is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. His fee is $200.

Story
Marzipan is a 5-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing about 12lb. Marzi is sweet as sugar and a wonderful companion for her new human! She is very polite and will ask before she jumps onto furniture or moves into unfamiliar territory. She is great on a leash. She can be demanding attention and will need lots of reassurance and love from her new owner. She is very affectionate and loves snuggling with her human. She knows how to sit and shake hands. She is a terrific guard dog. She can be unsure of other dogs and will warn them away. She doesn’t always like to play and will decline familiar dog invites with a firm “no.” Marzi is a lady with a strong will that stands up for herself. Marzi is in foster care and is bonded with Benny. We are looking to adopt them out together. She is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.

Story
Benny is a 7-year-old, 12lb Chihuahua/Terrier mix looking for his forever home. He is extremely strong-willed and loaded with personality. He wants to be in control and needs a strong alpha owner. Once he bonds to his person, he is a lover! Benny is a velcro dog. He keeps tabs on his human and likes to be near them and protective. He is very aware of his surroundings. He is territorial, but with consistent socialization, he has overcome much of his aggression. His forever home will need to continue socializing him, his behavior will continue to improve. He is a funny little guy that thinks he is a cat - he likes to stand on your shoulders or crawl on top of things to explore. Benny has a very strong prey drive and will chase cats, rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. He is not an excessive barker and is quick to recognize recurring noises and adjust his behavior. He is extremely smart and learns fast. He is also a talker and he will talk until you figure out what he wants (humans are so slow). When he is not snuggling, he is very independent and does his own thing. He does not like to be disturbed when he is busy or sleeping. He knows how to sit and shake hands. He will guard resources at first, but not once he feels safe. He does not exhibit separation anxiety and is not destructive. He can react when his harness is put on or removed and seems sensitive about his tummy. He also reacts to entrances and exits as he does not like change. His forever home will need to give him lots of patience and support so he feels secure and can relax. Benny is good with calm female small dogs and some large dogs, he has very strong preferences in everything. His behavior will alter depending on his doggy friend. NOTE: Benny is fearful and untrusting with men. It's our recommendation that he be in a female household with no kids or cats. Households should have rescue or fearful dog experience. He will be aggressive when meeting for the first time. Benny is in foster care and is bonded with Marzi. We are looking to adopt them out together. Benny is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Scotch! He is a 3-year-old, 15lb Chihuahua mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Scotch is timid and shy and will need a patient adopter to help him learn to trust again. He is very uncertain in new situations and will need patience in allowing him to open up and feel comfortable. Once he trusts, he loves to sit on your lap and watch the world go by. He LOVES other dogs and we are looking for another playful dog in the home as they give him confidence. We are recommending no small children as sudden moves make him nervous. Scotch is UTD vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Macaroon is a 2-year-old female chihuahua terrier mix and weighs about 10lb. She is very sweet but wasn't socialized well and can be timid around people. Macaroon is in a foster home with a lot of other dogs to play with. She really enjoys the company of other dogs and will need another playful dog in the home. She's submissive, and having an older/same age dog that doesn't mind showing her the ropes would good. Macaroon has done phenomenally well in foster care. She's curious and wants to be loved by people, but she's still timid to start. Macaroon is the most confident when there are other dogs around. She'll approach you for pets but will shy away and come right back. It more the initial reaction that she shys away from. She's active when someone wants to play, but can also be independent and hang on the couch when everyone is busy. Her foster siblings love being in the backyard, but Macaroon will come in and sit on the couch when she's done being outdoors. If there's a party in the house, you might find her sitting by herself on her bed, just chillin'. An outdoor yard isn't necessary but will need to be fully fenced if your home has a yard. She's a home body and like to stick close to the house. She loves toys of any kind and relaxing on the couch. Her coat is short and curly and wiry! She's loves treats and has a very good appetite. If you're looking for a sweetie cutie but shy and playful, she's your girl! She is house-trained and sleeps in a kennel at night. Macaroon is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her fee is $500.

Story
Pinky is a tiny and adorable boy who lived on the streets with his 4 siblings, of which only 3 survived after a dog attack. He and his siblings managed to take shelter and with a report from a neighbor we were able to find and rescue them. 4.5 pounds of pure love and sweetness, a sweethearth boy. Despite his size he is a brave baby, and he wins your heart with those giant eyes in that little face. He loves to play with toys even if they are too big for him, and he does big jumps at your side while you walk at normal speed, lol. Pinky steals a smile every time you look at him, he really is so cute. He stands on two hind legs to ask you for food or cuddles. He lives well with other dogs and cats, and is not usually shy with people. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
This little boy was in the street with his 4 siblings, and one of them was attacked by dogs and did not survive. Fortunately we were able to find the 3 of them before it was too late, and Kuzco is now ready for his new home! He is a funny, adorable, small and too cute dog. Those beautiful eyes steal your soul, and it's so hard to get mad at him. He loves to play with other dogs, sometimes he forgets his size and thinks he can play with big dogs and be at their level, haha. He won't grow much, he will be small, his dad weighs no more than 12 pounds.

Story
Available in TX only! Rusty is a charming 6-year-old, chocolate-colored Chihuahua weighing in at a lovable 19 pounds. This little guy is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend who loves to be by your side. Rusty enjoys lounging on the couch, bed, or even right in your lap, making him the perfect cuddle buddy. Rusty is a social butterfly and has already made friends with the foster sibling, the Cocker Spaniel. Although he doesn't ask to go out, he hasn't had any accidents inside and goes outside when taken. An explorer at heart, Rusty loves to investigate his surroundings. He's also treat motivated, which makes training a breeze. While he enjoys the occasional play run, Rusty prefers chilling with his people over anything else. He's not a big chewer and behaves well when there's food around. Rusty is great with other dogs but would do best in a home without cats. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who loves to be near you, Rusty might just be your perfect match! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Animal Profile:  Gully is an estimated 3-year-old black and white female chihuahua/terrier mix  joining us from Fresno Animal Care Center. She was found as a stray and held by the finder for a few days looking for an owner but no one came. She was assessed to be shy but friendly with people and dogs. Gully is currently 18lbs, but she is on a weight loss journey to reach her ideal weight of ~13lbs. Foster Update: Meet Gully! This special girl is excited to find her forever home. Full of spunk and energy, this girl won't leave you bored. She will gladly engage in a game of tug and chase, and she will go for hours if you let her =) With her zest for life, comes an eagerness to learn. Gully loves nothing more than clear direction from her human, as she is eager to learn her expectations and excel at her tasks (then get rewarded for it). She has been learning leash manners when out and about, and has learned the place command when at home. Gully is looking for a forever home that can continue to expand her basic obedience and help her build confidence in the outside world through leadership. Having a confident handler on leash has helped transform Gully from being fearful and reacting to passing dogs, to being able to pass them calmly and with confidence. Her forever human will need to feel comfortable to continue to advocate for her and keep up on her leash manners. Gully does amazing in her crate and sleeps through the night soundly, as well as for spurts of time throughout the day. High-value chews are one of her favorite rewards, and she has become quite fond of antler ears or yak chews. She is making progress with her potty training; she will take care of business anytime she is out on a walk, but we are still working on learning her signals on when she needs to go out. A consistent routine will help immensely for keeping up the progress with her potty training. Gully has been fostered with another small dog, and she engages in play often. Her play style can be a bit more dominant. Gully would enjoy a canine companion that compliments her energy and play style, but she wouldn't mind being the only dog either.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from the Fresno Animal Center.  She arrives on 12/17 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 19, 2024, 12:18 am
