Story
Location: Sacramento, CA Pigeon, female, is somehow still waiting for her forever home She’s approaching 2 years old and is a smart, active, awesome girl waiting for her human! Her foster has truly done some incredible work with her. She has helped Pigeon manage her big feelings about other dogs and done a ton of other training with her. She introduced her to nose work and EarthDog, which Pigeon loved. While Pigeon has done amazing figuring out that she has to allow other dogs to exist on this Earth, she still needs to be an only dog. Also, dogs with her tenacity and prey drive aren’t usually good matches for small children. Friends, you are truly missing out on a special pup! If you are interested, please fill out an application at: https://jackrussellrescueca.org/application/  July 8, 2024, 1:10 am

Story
Location: Citrus Heights, CA Shinobu, Female, almost 3yrs old is in need of a new address. She seems to not be fond of the other female JRT in the house and bullies her (this is why we won’t put 2 females together!) does ok with the male JRT she lives with but definitely likes being top dog. She is prey driven and likes to chase small animals and cats. She is great with humans and her current owners say she is fine with children. She is crate trained, knows several commands, and loves all the attention. Foster to adopt may be possible for a pre-approved adopter. Adoption Fee: $350 If you are interested in adoption complete the adoption application, https://jackrussellrescueca.org/application/   July 8, 2024, 1:10 am

Story
Dottie Locate in Fremont, CA 3 years, 9 months old Dottie is a sweet Jack Russell Terrier that was unfortunately placed into a home with another female Jack Russell Terrier.  They lived peacefully for the first few years but as often happens with same sex terriers, Dottie began to pick on her senior friend. Dottie is a sweet dog that might do best as an only dog, she has never been around male dogs so that is an unknown.  Cats are also an unknown but it is assumed that she won't do well since she has natural hunting instincts.  Dottie has also never been around children so she will need a home with older children that are accustomed to being around a dog and know to respect them. Dottie knows sit and stay, she does pull on the leash. She is very friendly towards people.  Dottie's perfect home is with terrier savvy owners.  She requires a backyard to hunt in and a warm bed to curl up in. She is accustomed to sleeping with her people and is not crate trained. Dottie was originally purchased from a JRTCA breeder and her documentation will accompany her to her new home. Adoption Fee:  $350 Current on vaccinations.  Please complete an adoption application to meet Dottie. https://jackrussellrescueca.org/application/    July 8, 2024, 1:10 am

Story
Bella is an amazing dog. We recently have lost our house and just will not provide a safe environment for her that is stress free. We tried but she was too nervous. She gets nervous at first but once she warms up to you she’s good especially if you have a ball in your hand. Her favorite thing to do is play fetch. She knows how to sit, stay, and drop the ball. We really don’t want to give her up but feel this will be in best interest for her.
