Story
Bear is a gentle giant who is highly trainable, respects boundaries, and never messes in the house. He knows where his bed is. Will herd you to the house if he hears animals in the woods. Chill and sweet. He is great with other medium and large dogs. He has a predator tendency when he sees a cat or small dog. We adopted him at age 3 from a teenager who got him as a puppy and rehomed him because they had small dogs. He is now 7. We will miss him terribly but think another family can give him a better life. He has always been good with kids but thinks he is a puppy size so knocks them down sometimes by accident.

Story
Kookie is a great dog. I have had her since 2010 when she was a pup. I was a college student when I first adopted Kookie. She is loving and sweet and is currently 15 yr old. Even though she is 15 she has a lot of energy and you would think she was a puppy. I am now a single mother of a 3yr and it is becoming increasingly difficulty to care for Kookie with a little one. I want Kookie to go to a loving home where she will be cared for and loved. Kookie currently has Addison's disease. She has had this for some years now. She takes a half of a pill (prednisone) every morning and has to get a percorten injection once a month at our veterinarian's office. This has helped her to live a healthy life. She also takes a liquid medication by mouth for her heart (Pimobendan) as she has aged and now needs medication to keep her heart healthy. Other than these things, Kookie is a great dog and is loyal and will snuggle up with you and be by your side. I really want a good home for her.

We adopted Munson from the Atlanta Humane Society in January 2017. Munson loves being outdoors, free-roaming, chasing frisbees, and taking lazy naps in the sunshine. He’s at his best when he has space to run around and enjoys other dogs. He has lots of energy for his age but does enjoy snuggling close when given the opportunity. He plays hard and crashes hard.

Story
“Maybe you shouldn’t judge people before you get to know them.”—Princess FionaMeet our own Princess Fiona! This sweet girl is painfully shy, but in her foster home, she’s learning to trust humans at her own pace. Fiona loves the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a calm, confident canine sibling to show her the ropes. She’s house-trained, follows the pack’s routine, and keeps her crate tidy—what a gem! With Fiona, less is more—she just needs a quiet, patient household that will give her space while she finds her courage. Older children who understand her need for time and gentleness would be a perfect match.Ready to give this shy princess her happily ever after? Reach out today to meet Fiona! Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles.
