Story
6 year old American foxhound very sweet, loving playful dog. Ive had her since she was born, and since leaving a D.V relationship, its been very hard to give her the attention she needs as Im a single mom working full-time and Im gone up to 14 hours a day. its not fair to her. she does not get along with other dogs, especially female dogs. Never introduced to cats. Does great with kids over the age of 4. She loves to snuggle under the covers, play outside, and scratches behind her ears are her favorite. Shes truly an amazing dog and deserves to be in a loving home where shes not alone all the time.

Story
Meet Tank!Do you enjoy going for a long sniff in the sunshine? So does Tank! Tank is a German shepherd who is big enough to require his own zip code, but other than that, he is a loving boy who is pretty good on leash despite his name. When Tank bonds with his people, like many German shepherds, he can become stressed when they are not around. A family with someone who works from home or has short hours might be the ideal match for him. Tank is a dog for someone who likes to skip going through the fuss of puppyhood and adolescence, but is not ready to adopt a senior dog. He is a dog who knows the drill of living in a home and may just need a few tweaks to be right for your home. Something Tank has already discovered is that he prefers to live in a home with adults and older children and does not want to share his people with any other animals. If you would like to meet this huggable lug, please stop by KVHS with all family members!Interested in meeting Tank? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Ziva, This family girl is willing to receive attention from people of all ages! She loves a good couch cuddle session as much as she enjoys Fling Rings (frisbee type toy) Playology Chew Bones. If you like to go for walks or hike, she is game to do that too! Ziva says that she would rather be the only dog getting attention in her home, but she is willing to meet other dogs for a potential play sesh. Ziva also prefers a home with no kitties! If you are interested in meeting Ziva, please stop by with all human members of your household!

Story
Meet Forrest, We have seen so much growth in Forrest since he has been here. He used to enjoy bowling, with us being the bowling pins! Now instead of smacking down pins, we can enjoy the trails together, with the sunlight making our shadows long.Sometimes we stop for some butt pats, ear rubs and loving looks. Forrest is a special boy, with a lot of potential for the right handler. He has loyalty to give in spades, soulful eyes and Jolly Ball habit. Forrest is looking for a home where his main handler is physically and mentally strong. Forrest has only been used to having rules and boundaries for a short time and he has been very successful with them. He and his new family will be happiest if those continue.Forrest`s ideal home will be an adult-only one where he can shine without having to worry about any other animals interfering with his toys and food; he doesn`t like to share.Stop by and meet Forrest with any other adults that live in your home. German Shepherd experience is a plus and we would love to introduce him to you!

Story
If we could describe Chicken Nugget`s character it would be very similar to Courage the cowardly dog. When Chicken Nugget first came to KVHS as a stray, he had to overcome his fear of opening up and trusting a few staff members. At first meet he is very bashful and will use his voice when he is uncomfortable. But just like Courage, he overcame that fear and made a few friends here that he absolutely loves and protects. He walks well on leash. He knows `sit` and `paw.` He is a treat-motivated, hugging cuddle-bug who will forever be a loyal friend. ** Please understand Chicken Nugget may need to have several visits until he is comfortable enough to go home with you ** He will be happiest and most successful in a home free of cats and people under the age of 18. He has not yet met a dog friend here, but is willing to meet other K9`s. If you are interested in meeting Chicken Nugget be prepared with treats, all household family members and patience in meeting this sweet, shy boy.

Story
Meet Bella, Bella is a bodacious, powerful girl who is true to her breed. She adores attention, kisses, and cuddles from her friends and family. The mailman? Not so much. Cane Corsos are an Italian mastiffs bred to be strong, stubborn, and intimidating. If we had to pick any dog to walk down a poorly-lit street at 2 in the morning, it would be Bella. That being said, Bella is large and in charge, AND she knows it. She is looking for a handler who is physically strong, and preferably one who has experience with large guard breeds. As a big, stubborn dog who is bred to be highly suspicious of strangers, Bella will need consistent training throughout her life to stay safe and happy out and about, and with any visitors who come to the home. She will not be successful as dog for a first-time dog owner.Bella is looking for a dog-free home with people 18 years and older. Though she has not lived with cats before, we think she could be successful living with dog-savvy cats. If you are interested in meeting Bella, please bring all human and canine family members to meet her. * Due to kennel space, Bella is placed outback! Please as for her.
