Story
MUFFIN, an 8 and a half year old Chow Chow mix came to our pound when her mom and dad both passed away. MUFFIN spent her life in an outside kennel so she will need some housebreaking tips. MUFFIN is a little timid when she first meets people she doesn't know, but once she warms up, she is sweet and affectionate. She loves hot dogs and chicken nuggets so if you want to win her love quickly, ply her with her favorites and you'll have a friend for life. We don't know about her vetting history, but while she was being cared for by a neighbor, she was taken to the vet and she was put on preventatives. MUFFIN would do best in a quiet home since she has not met kids, cats or other dogs. At the pound, she will bark at other dogs and when they ignore her, she stops. She would love to be able to leave the noise and confusion of the pound and have her own quiet spot with a family. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907. Open M-F 10am-4pm; Sat 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions are welcome. Applications are available at the pound and online at harrisoncountdogpounvolunteers, org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari.

Story
We would like to introduce you to EMMY LOU. She is a one year old Staffy mix who came to our pound as a stray. EMMY is the sweetest girl who doesn't know a stranger. She is good with kids and other dogs. We don't know if she likes full grown cats or not, but we know she loves kittens and doesn't mind when they bat at her with their little paws. EMMY is energetic and active. Because she likes to jump on people, she is now going through basic obedience training at the Belmont Correctional Institution in their Cell Dog Training Program. She is available for adoption while in training and a meetngreet can be arranged for an approved adopter. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Story
Did you know that you can hear a dog's heart breaking? It's not like the sound of breaking glass or cracking ice or splitting wood. It's a painfully sad keening sound that can pierce you right to your soul. That was the sound of TERRA's heart breaking when her family surrendered her to our pound. TERRA is a wonderful sweet and affectionate girl who deserves so much more than she got. She is crate trained, housebroken, and spayed. She likes to sleep on your bed but because she is a little pudgy, she might need a boost. TERRA lived with cats, another dog and a toddler and liked them all. She loves to be snuggled and she loves to have her chin scratched. TERRA would be forever grateful to become a part of a family who will treasure her the way she deserves. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Open: Monday-Friday 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; Closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions welcomed.
