Story
Pablo is looking for a home! He has been at Guthrie Shelter before, but this time his original owners are not coming to pick him up 😭 This boy is a Husky/Pit/Shepherd mix who is still very young, likely only 1 year old. He knows "sit" and "shake", and will do both for a tasty treat. He is very excited to play with other dogs, but does not always get along with them at first. Some have been fine, others not- totally depends on the dog. He has a preference for female dogs as playmates, and gets along will with Heidi and Jazzy at the shelter. Pablo would be better suited to a home with older children, as he has not had any training regarding jumping up before coming to the shelter 😔 He is learning, but it will take time and folks who can handle that. As a husky, Dash has a busy brain. He needs tasks and toys and lots of things to entertain him. We think he'd do best in a household who has teens to play with him, or another dog to wrassle and run around with. He has not tried to climb or jump fences at the shelter, but is a very busy boy. He is not a barker unless another dog is barking, or he's locked in his kennel and bored out of his mind 😅 Then you'll hear his husky voice. If you'd like to adopt Pablo, please call Guthrie Animal Shelter (405-282-1776 ext 1776), or send us a message on our facebook. He comes with free neuter, rabies vaccination, heartworm test, and a donated 6 months of heartworm prevention.

Story
Vulcan is a very sweet boy. I have three kids and he lets my (3yo) roll on him. He is an amazing snuggle up to dog (actually will cuddle with you in bed at night it’s sweet) who loves all the attention you give him. I have other pets and he gets along with all of them cats and dogs he has grew up around chicks and ducks and don’t bother them. He for sure needs a nice fenced in back yard as he has sooooo much energy to get out! He won’t bark at you but he will bark at the door when people knock. He definitely doesn’t like being left outside very long and is quite loud about it. He wants to go do his business and be let back in. All around a great dog if you are ready for him. He doesn’t like his crate at all but If I had more time I would love to keep him. He is amazing with my kids. And honestly if you have kids he would love bigger kids to play harder outside with.

Story
Jada is a beautiful 6 month female border Collie mix. She was taken to the OKC animal shelter when her family was found under an abandoned house. Jada was immediately separated with visable wounds to her front leg and was unable to stand. She had apparently been hit by a car. Jada had hip surgery to repair her dislocated hip. Many months later, we discovered that the there was also damage to her knees. She can walk and jump but she will need enhanced medical care for the rest of her life. She will need pain meds, blood tests, supplements and occasional X-rays to manage her pain and health. Jada is a playful pup who absolutely loves other dogs. She is a bit more apprehensive of people. She loves toys, kongs, and hanging out on the couch. Jada will not need nightly walks or hikes or other energy enriched activities. She will benefit from a laid back home with a backyard and another furry friend. A family that would enjoy cooking for her so that she can have anti inflammatory meals would be amazing! We are hopeful we can find the perfect home for Jada! She deserves it. Jada is current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Jada, please fill out our application.

Story
This is The Amazing Harvey. He is about 50 lbs and 5-7 years old. He is prefect in every way. He is house trained and crate trained. He is never crated at his foster house and he is well-behaved all day. He does NOT chew on shoes, clothes, or the everyday phone charger. :) If he takes a toy outside, it is fair game to possibly lose its life. He loves to play with water (but he has no interest in the pool). If you need to water flowers, he is always there to help. He likes to chase it, bite it, spin for it (video in the comments!). He also knows how to sit and shake. He is very smart and we are sure he can learn so much more. He loves to play ball. He and his foster sister like to see who can get to the ball first. Harvey can play ball for as long as someone is willing to throw the ball. Harvey gets along well with all dogs and cats. We assume he would be amazing with kids due to his calm demeanor. He does have some mild anxiety with storms. During the last storm, he went into a dark closet and that seemed to be all he needed (and a few cuddles). We assume July 4th could also cause some anxiety so he will require patience and understanding. Harvey will never leave your side. He is up for any adventure that may come his way. He is a very happy-go-lucky boy!!! Harvey is current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick, dewormed, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Harvey, please fill out our application.
