Story
I found Cupcake cold and starving on the side of the road a couple of years ago. He seems to get along with female dogs, but not males. This is why we have to rehome him. He never starts a fight with our other dog, Odin, but as he is much stronger him, Odin always winds up hurt. He is not a bad or violent dog, but having him has created a very stressful living situation for us. He is incredibly sweet with our family and people he meets when we are outside of our home, but he is very territorial at home. For this reason he also needs a family that can provide a safe and secure space for him to go when visitors are over. He is an amazing cuddler, hunter, and guard dog. It breaks my heart more than I can say to rehome him, but we are out of options. He will make a wonderful pet for the right family.

He weighs approximately 35lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Adoptable to Oklahoma only.   Message from Buster's foster!   I am Busters foster mom. I was going to explain a little bit about Busters background/history and current special needs. While more than anything I want him to find his forever home for his safety and others it will need to be a just right fit.  Buster was adopted out as a cute tiny puppy with his sister. The family sadly did Buster and his sister a huge disservice and did not socialize them at all. When the family divorced they returned Bella and Buster to rescue. Sadly both seem to have fearful tendencies due to this lack of socialization during the critical puppy stage.  Buster loves me and after a year finally loves my mom and sisters. However when my brother comes over he is very fearful and barks and runs and hides in his kennel. I have tried introducing him to guys I work with and he is fearful Of them too.  I think if pushed hard enough he may nip due to this fear although he has never done so yet as I keep interactions with strangers controlled and limited. I have to drug him in order to take him to the vet due to his fear. At home with a single person he loves he is perfect outside the home he is a nervous wreck.   Buster is crate trained/ house trained to a doggy door and loving to his person. He plays with the other dogs. He is a perfect dog beyond his irrational fear of other humans.  Buster will not be a dog some will meet for the first time and he will have a connection. He will be extremely fearful of a new person. The way I see Buster working is being dropped off at adopters house and him staying a weekend to see if he can bond. This is where distance concerns me. It would be nearly impossible for me to take him and pick up out of state due to my schedule.   He must have a fenced yard to keep him safe.  His adoption fee is $95.00     We are foster based only (No shelter) you can't just drive up here and get a pet. If you are interested in a animal fill out the form, not a binding contract to adopt. This is how we get your information to the foster, most of our foster live in the Stillwater Ok. He already weighs around 40lbs so we think he could get close to or over 90+ lbs when full grown. He will be neutered and microchipped before going to his forever home. We think he is a doodle mix but unknown what the true mix is as he was rescued from the shelter.Finneas is currently fostered in a home with other dogs, kids and cats. He is working on crate and potty training but is still a very young puppy so will need continued guidance on training. We think he would do well with another dog to play with in the home. We do require a size appropriate fenced yard to keep him safe while outside. Finneas is a very sweet and loving puppy. His adoption fee is $150.00 and the adoption link can be found belowhttps://form.jotform.com/200005720739042We are foster based only (No shelter) you can't just drive up here and get a pet. He loves people and other dogs. He’s not barky and loves to give kisses. He is good in a crate and in the house. If he can’t wait to go potty outside he will use a pad. He would love a home with another dog and or a place where his people were home most of the time. (Yes, he told me this!). Lol Levi is around 4-5 months old and weighs 8lbs. Story
Pablo is looking for a home! He has been at Guthrie Shelter before, but this time his original owners are not coming to pick him up 😭 This boy is a Husky/Pit/Shepherd mix who is still very young, likely only 1 year old. He knows "sit" and "shake", and will do both for a tasty treat. He is very excited to play with other dogs, but does not always get along with them at first. Some have been fine, others not- totally depends on the dog. He has a preference for female dogs as playmates, and gets along will with Heidi and Jazzy at the shelter. Pablo would be better suited to a home with older children, as he has not had any training regarding jumping up before coming to the shelter 😔 He is learning, but it will take time and folks who can handle that. As a husky, Dash has a busy brain. He needs tasks and toys and lots of things to entertain him. We think he'd do best in a household who has teens to play with him, or another dog to wrassle and run around with. He has not tried to climb or jump fences at the shelter, but is a very busy boy. He is not a barker unless another dog is barking, or he's locked in his kennel and bored out of his mind 😅 Then you'll hear his husky voice. If you'd like to adopt Pablo, please call Guthrie Animal Shelter (405-282-1776 ext 1776), or send us a message on our facebook. He comes with free neuter, rabies vaccination, heartworm test, and a donated 6 months of heartworm prevention.
