Story
Hey, I'm Rusty. I'm one of the OG's of this place. I've been here 223 days. That's 223 days of not chasing squirrels, of not running freely, 223 days of no cuddles with my own humans. 223 days of waiting. In that time, not one person has asked to see me. Not one. Why? I've seen others here start to act funny. It has me worried. I don't wanna catch what the humans call "kennel stress" That sounds pretty bad. I think I'm a good boy. I'm tall and the humans say I'm regal. I'm also really smart!! I figured out how to lift of the handle on my kennel outside! I was pretty proud of myself. The humans didn't think it was something to be proud of. So they put some kind of clip on it. Give me time. I'll figure it out! I love to play! My big JollyBall is my favorite toy in the world! I chew on it because it gives me comfort. I was made for the outdoors! I think that's because I get so bored when I'm in the house, that I can't help but be naughty. But that's not my fault. I need a job. And I think I would be good at just about any job. You don't even have to pay me!! Just throw ball and I'll be a happy boy! Please someone pick me!! It's my turn!

Story
Hi, I'm Wiggles. I want to tell you about a dream I keep having. I'm running in this big field chasing grasshoppers. I've been at it all day. Haven't caught one yet. I'm determined. This is so much fun! I stop for a moment and lift my face to the sky. The breeze touches my nose, and I can smell summer. Fresh grass, spring water, and fresh earth. I hear a voice in the distance, breaking my train of thoughts. Mom wants me home for dinner. I start running home, my mouth salivating at what mom has made for me. I get to the porch and she greets me with a smile and a gentle pat on the head. She tells me I'm a good boy. Just as I get to my bowl and start to take a bite, I wake up. It was just a dream. My reality is that I live here with a bunch of other dogs. The humans try to spend a little time with each of us, but we all want more. We need more. I get so excited to see humans that I can't control my Wiggles, hence the name, lol. I think my wiggly butt might knock over littles. And sometimes I can get a little rough with my play. I don't mean it and I don't do it on purpose. I have been to the vet and have all my shots, and I am fixed. I hope my dream comes true. I'd like to run with the grasshoppers soon!

Story
Hi, I'm Penelope. I'm still here. I'm pretty shy when you first meet me. Sometimes I get afraid, and growl because I don't know you. But don't worry, once I do get to know you, I'll love you more than you'll ever know. The humans say that I'm very loyal once we've met a few times. I've grown up here, so I don't know any other life, other than when I was begging on the street when I was a puppy. I love playing with other boy dogs!! My best friend is Inigo the husky. We chase each other and wrestle all the time. I miss him though, because he got hurt and can't be outside for awhile. So, it's been pretty boring. I really would love a home with another boy dog. Girl dogs don't like me. And that's okay. I don't like them either. The humans here say that I'm really smart, and could learn lots from my new parents if they taught me. I know that I act scared and growl when I meet new people, but I really do want someone of my own to love. Will you be that person??

Story
Hi, I'm Lilo. My story is terrible. But here goes. My parents up and moved, and left me to die. I was alone in that nasty house. For how long, I don't know. Long enough for bugs to start creeping in. Thank goodness someone heard me crying. When I was finally rescued, the humans said I was skin and bones and very upset. I'm still angry at my parents. How could they do that to me? Did they not love me enough to take me with them? Or at least try to find someone to care for me? I just don't understand. I constantly jump in my kennel just to keep the bad memories away. I try to fight the other dogs through their kennels because I'm so angry. The humans here tell me that after I have been fixed, it will help with my emotions. I hope so. I don't want to lose all hope that there are good parents out there. So here's my hope. I hope that someone with a lot of patience, caring, and love comes to save me from myself. I need to have my hope restored. Will you be the one that can do that?

Story
Hey guys. I'm back. The humans here told me that I need to tell the truth. Welp, the truth is, I don't like to be alone. I love humans so much and want to be with them so much, that when I'm outside by myself, I DIG. I dig to get out of my kennel. I dig to get out of the yard. I do that because I want to be with my family. My wish is to be with someone who either works from home, is retired, or willing to take me to work with them. Someone who will be with me. I'm a really good girl. I love to snuggle and play. I love laying on the rug and taking a nap. I try really hard not to potty in the house. But I don't like to be in a kennel. I'm not a fan of other girls. I did have a bestie that was a boy and we got along great. I'm on paws and knees, begging someone to be my family. If you think that you're the one for me, please give these guys a call. They'll get me a message.

Story
Hello, my name is Pippy. Here is my story. I was wandering the streets for a long time. Thankfully I wandered to a house that had a very nice human. They took care of me for a little while, but told me right away that they couldn't keep me. I tried to prepare myself for the day that I would have to leave. And I was right, I was very sad, but I understood. I'm here now. It's not so bad. I was a little scared at first, but then I made a friend, Inigo, the Husky. From what I've heard, he's been naughty, and that's why they put him outside to play with me. I've always liked the bad boys! We get along great, and I have so much fun when we play! Inigo told me that the humans help us to find homes. I sure hope so. I like sleeping on a humans couch. I like the snuggles. It made me feel loved. I really do hope that someone sees me and says to themselves, "that's my best friend." ..........Someday
