After weeks of living on the run, she was live-trapped, starving, and in rough condition. The world had been tough on her, and she’s had to face many obstacles to get to where she is today.Nina might be a bit reserved at first. She won’t trust you immediately, and it might take a few meetings before she feels comfortable. But don’t let that deter you—this brave girl has a heart of gold and the most loyal spirit once she opens up.Once Nina trusts you, she becomes an incredibly devoted companion. She loves to lay at your feet, wherever that may be, finding comfort and security in your presence. Nina is house-trained and very obedient, making her a well-mannered addition to any home. One of her endearing quirks is bringing you her stuffed animals as thank-you gifts, a sign of her appreciation and affection. And when she’s happy to see you, her excitement is expressed with the biggest, wiggliest butt wiggle you’ve ever seen.Nina’s story is one of resilience and transformation. She’s looking for a loving, patient home where she can feel safe and cherished. If you have the time and heart to give this sweet girl the love she deserves, Nina will reward you with unwavering loyalty and affection. Could you be the one to give Nina her happily ever after?

Story
Name: RedBreed: Australian Cattle Dog MixAge: 10 yearsGender: MaleSize: Medium (25 kg)About Red:Red is a spirited 10-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who proves that age is just a number! True to his breed’s reputation, Red is highly intelligent, loyal, and full of energy. He’s a social butterfly who loves people and enjoys leisurely walks, making him an ideal companion for someone who values an active lifestyle. Red adores playing in water and still has plenty of pep in his step despite being a bit older. He’s house-trained, food-motivated, and loves showing off his smarts.Ideal Home:Red would thrive in a home with a large property or outdoor space to explore—he likely has farm dog roots. While he loves people, younger kids (under 15) aren’t recommended due to his reluctance to being grabbed at unexpectedly. Red would do best as the only pet in the home. He’s looking for a family with breed experience that can provide him with daily structure and keep him active with hikes or other outdoor adventures.Training and Skills:Red walks nicely on a leash and is house-trained. His keen intelligence and love of food make him a quick learner, so he’s ready to pick up new tricks or routines in his forever home. He knows some basic comands like Sit, Stay, Come. Favourites:Loves splashing around in waterEnjoys food puzzles or any activity involving treatsHiking and adventuresBeing with peopleDislikes:Does not like his collar grabbed or hind end touchedMay not tolerate younger children wellHealth Information:Red is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and had a dental in November. He’s in great health for his age and ready for a lifetime of adventures.Adoption Fee:Senior Adoption $200– This includes vaccinations, microchipping, neutering, and recent dental work.Additional Notes:Red has no known history before arriving as a stray in September, but he’s proven to be a loving and active companion. A fenced yard or large property would make him happiest, and he’s eager to find a forever home that matches his lively personality. Red would make a fantastic hiking buddy and lifelong friend. How to Adopt: If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am-6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618. Story
If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh and keep you on your toes, Rocko’s your guy!Name: RockoBreed: Bully Cross Age: 1 yearGender: MaleSize: Large (Approx. 34kg)About Rocko:Rocko is a goofy, lovable pup who doesn’t quite realize how big he is! He’s full of energy, playfulness, and love to give, but sometimes he thinks he’s a tiny chihuahua in a big dog’s body. This silly boy is always up for an adventure and loves to have fun, whether it’s chasing toys in the yard or bouncing around with his humans. He’s very food motivated and eager to please, so training him with the right handler will be a rewarding experience. Rocko’s puppy mentality means he still needs to learn some basic manners, but with a strong and patient handler, he’s sure to become a wonderful companion.Ideal Home:Rocko would thrive in an active home with an experienced handler who can give him the structure and guidance he needs. He’s looking for someone to continue his training and help him refine his manners, especially since he’s a playful teen with a big personality. A laid-back dog sibling who can handle Rocko’s exuberance would be ideal, but he’d prefer to be the boss in the home for now. A home without young kids is recommended at this time, same with small animals. A fenced yard is a must for him to burn off his energy and play to his heart’s content. Rocko will need a home where he can continue to grow and learn. He’s got so much love to give, and with the right handler, he’ll blossom into an amazing companion. Training and Skills:Rocko is house trained, knows basic commands (sit, stay), and is very food motivated—making him a quick learner with the right training. However, he still has some puppy-like manners to work on, especially when it comes to sharing space with other dogs.Favourites:Playing fetch and tug-of-warChewing on sweet potato treatsBelly rubs and cuddles Dislikes:Being told “no” when he wants to play (but he learns quickly!)Being kept indoors too long without playtimeSharing toys with other dogs Health Information:Rocko is up-to-date on his vaccinations and is neutered. He has no known medical issues.Adoption Fee:$495 (covers vaccinations, microchipping, neuter, and deworming)How to Adopt: If you`re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am-6 pm, contact us by em

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hey there, I'm Moose! Don't let my name fool you, I'm not as big and intimidating as you might think. I'm a friendly, sweet soul who loves to play and explore. I've got energy to spare and a curiosity that keeps life interesting. I'm independent too, happy to do my own thing but always ready for a good cuddle. I do like some large dogs, but I'm not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home would be best for me. I would enjoy a home where I have room to explore and would most definitely benefit from a fenced in yard because I like to wander. Why should you adopt me? Well, I'm ready to bring a whole lot of love, laughter, and fun into your life. I promise, with me around, there will never be a dull moment!
