His former owner was a homeless and addicted to drugs. A fellow rescuer purchased him to get him out of the situation. He is good with other dogs. Loves his crate, toys, going for walks and going in the car. It takes him awhile to get settled into a home, so he needs a patient adopter.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAGGI, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Maggie was adopted from us as a one year old dog back in 2016. She was just returned to us because her adopters are elderly, and one of them hurt her back trying to lift her in the tub for a bath. They were going to euthanize her if we didn’t take her back! Despite being 8 years of age and a little gray in the face, she still has tons of spunk. She loves going to walks. She loves attention.

Story
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ORVILLE, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Orville was rescued by a good Samaritan in Arkansas, when he was founded at an abandoned home. He was underweight, covered in fleas and ticks, and very weak. Once we got him to our vet we found that he was anemic, the fleas had sucked all of his blood. He is also heartworm positive, and he’s started the beginning of heartworm treatment. He’s feeling so much better and is on the path to good health! Orville is feeling better now, and his personality has started to show. He shows signs of being abused. He is not going to be a good first dog for someone, and he will need someone who’s dog savvy, and will give him space to settle in his environment.

Story
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PHEOBE, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Phoebe came from a wood mill property in Memphis. It was a dire/neglectful situation. We think she suffered from head trauma, which left her unable to walk on her own and pretty helpless. Her Memphis foster moms cared for her and kept her safe until she could be transported to Pittsburgh. Her northern foster parents got started on physical therapy right away. This has helped tremendously. She does treadmill therapy, and balancing exercises among other things. She has made huge strides and can walk with a wheelchair. She’s really feeling her independence! Adoption fee is waived at this time as we expect the adopter to continue with physical therapy. Our goal is to hopefully having her walk on her own one day. She’s gaining strength daily!
