Story

Scone is a loving and wonderful dog who is great with all people, children included. She is not terribly high energy but is also not suited to be an indoor only dog, like all GPs. Her favorite things in the world are cuddling, pets, and treats, but she can be a bit of a picky eater. She originally came from a Texas based rescue and the only thing I know about her from that point in her life is that she was found scavenging in a Jack-in-the-Box dumpster. She needs to be the only dog in the house as she is not a fan of other dogs, and while she has lived with another dog for the past year plus, she has started several altercations, mostly based on resource guarding. I would be more than happy to continue to work with her on this issue, however I will soon have children living in the house, and despite her getting along great with kids, I don’t want them exposed to this. Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas anc can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Meet Yuna! She is an adorable 70lb Anatolian Shepherd/Pyrenees mix who would make the perfect companion on all of your adventures. She is already housebroken, knows sit, down, paw, wait, and while the crate is not her favorite place in the world (she would rather be on her dog bed near you) she will go in when needed. Yuna LOVES hiking and adventuring with her humans. She is a sweet girl who is looking for someone to continue to grow her confidence and continue her training. She is E-Collar trained with off leash recall and would thrive in a home as the only dog. Unsure about children still (tiny cute humans confuse her). Curious about cats but unsure still. Her prior human has graciously offered to pay her adoption fee as well as include some training sessions with Pacific Northwest Canine in order to keep up on all of her skills! Introducing our lovable furry friend! This charming pup is a people-person through and through—ready to soak up all the pets and attention from anyone, including strangers! However, when it comes to little ones, sudden movements and loud noises can startle him a bit. If children are calm and gentle, he's happy to hang out. Although he's not a fan of being carried or lifted up, he's a big fan of canine companions, especially smaller or similar-sized dogs. He's a true protector, but only when needed—stepping up if other dogs are too rowdy or aggressive. Birds? Squirrels? They definitely catch his eye during walks, but with a bit of leash training, he's working on his focus. In terms of energy, he's got the perfect balance—loving outdoor adventures but a total zen master indoors. While he might tug a little on walks, once he settles, he's an excellent leash follower. Busy streets can be overwhelming, so quieter spots are more his style. No guarding resources from people, but he might issue a gentle growl if other dogs get too close. When it's time to travel, he prefers a cozy crate in the car—helping ease those nerves and avoiding any car sickness. One thing's for sure—he's a potty pro outdoors only!
