She was found at an abandoned house, left in a dirty pen with two other dogs, surviving without food or water for some time. For the past 9 months Panda Girl has been sadly waiting patiently for her forever home at a small town shelter, existing in a dark and depressing, tiny concrete cell. Despite her tough start, Panda Girl is a true sweetheart and still has a great attitude and grateful for any attention or moment outside her cell in the play yard. This girl is able to stay out in the play yard a lot because she gets along well with other dogs and adores everyone she meets. Her time in the shelter's play yard shows that she still has a playful spirit and friendly nature. This poor girl needs a break from this mundane existence in a shelter. 9 months is sheer torture and we hope someone will help her get out by fostering or even better, adopting. This boy is being offered after he was found on a senior woman’s farm property and it was obvious he was dumped there. We are assisting this woman in having him vetted thoroughly and searching high and low for a great family to give him a wonderful new place that he can hang out forever. We have met this boy several times and he is really a true gem of a dog. He has no imperfections and no bad habits or issues. He gets along well other dogs, children and everyone he meets. Marley is a beautiful purebred Husky girl that is a nice settled 6 year old girl that is 45 pounds and rescued from a totally inhumane living environment for the last 4 years. This girl needs some patience, love, training to not jump on you as you enter her space to pet her and a first time ever inside home. She has lived in a neglected backyard environment that has resulted in her having heartworms which are being treated now. She will be fine after the treatment is done. We are desperately trying to help the family who took and the other dog in to their home to give them fresh water daily (not the black rain water in the kiddie pool), food daily (instead of every 4 days) and a grassy environment that is mowed weekly and no 7 feet tall with weeds. We are all working hard to get her and the other dog (can be separated) the good and caring homes and people to love them. Marley deserves a dream come true new place in life. She is not housebroken at the moment due to the years living outside. But that can change in a short time with a schedule and patience. This girl is playful, friendly and good with other dogs and people. She just needs to learn NOT to jump on them with her joyful greetings. Misha was a shelter dog at the MD SPCA. She turns 4 years this November. She is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog. She loves going for walks and is very food/treat motivated. Otherwise she loves taking long naps and finding weird places to lay around. She has a strong prey drive towards small animals. She is incredibly strong and fast so I would recommend walking tools like easy-walk or gentle leader. She sheds a lot and needs proper and regular grooming to maintain. She is also an escape artist and will try to escape given the opportunity. Loves water and swimming. She is hovering around 62lbs and eats about 3 Cups of kibble/day. Looking for a home that has a yard or other animals for her to socialize with. Needs a fair amount of activity.

Good day, my name is Stark, a 2-year old, 49 lbs., Husky mix, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. I lost my home when my human could no longer afford me, so he surrendered me to a South Carolina animal shelter. Despite my misfortune, I found a new purpose at the shelter. The wonderful shelter staff uncovered my “patient” personality when interacting with canines and felines alike. In fact, the shelter staff relied on me to help socialize older puppies who needed a refresher on doggie play. I'm cool with cats. When I was in the shelter, I was housed right by the shelter's "catio" where the kitties just roamed free. I let them do their thing; I didn't mind them one bit. After several months of waiting, the shelter transferred me to A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to increase my chances of finding my forever home as they are overwhelmed with the number of dogs being surrendered and abandoned. Meet Flynn, the most handsome, loving, work in progress you'll ever meet! Flynn is a 1-year-old Husky mix - possibly with Chow or another fluffy breed. Flynn is stunningly handsome and absolutely adores his people and other dogs, but because of a few "quirks," will require a patient adopter. We are unsure exactly what this boy went through in his early days, but it's obvious, it wasn't nice. While Flynn holds no grudges against humans, he is extremely timid. It takes Flynn time to warm up to anyone new. He seems much more at ease around women and children, though does warm up to men...eventually. He enjoys going to the dog park where he has become a superstar - romping and playing with the other dogs. He loves going for walks with his canine foster siblings. Flynn isn't a fan of being left alone but does find comfort in his canine foster siblings in these situations. Flynn's ideal home will have someone home for a good part of the day, at least one other confident dog to help him adjust, and a fenced yard because this fella loves the outdoors and lounging in the sun! He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find his forever home! This dog's adoption fee is $400.
