Story
Lana was found on February 20, 2024 and was very pleasant as she wandered the street. She was easy to leash and came willingly with her now foster mom. Lana appears to have been well cared for and would definitely love to be able to cuddle on the sofa or a bed (but she is not currently allowed to do so). She likes belly rubs and loves to play fetch and catch (she'll get her ball and "throw" it at you to let you know she wants to play). She will destroy any toy of the fabric variety so give these to her only when you feel you have a few dollars to throw away and to give her some entertainment, lol. But don't leave her alone with it as she will eat the fabric! The ideal toys are soft rubber, but once the toy hardens, dispose of it because it then becomes a "let's see if we can eat this object" to her. Lana would love to be able to run around off leash - dog zoomies are an occasional thrill for her and fun to watch. Lana saw the kids in the yard behind me playing basketball and sat to watch them play (since she couldn't join in) so I'm pretty sure she would love playing with kids. She's energetic so watch her around small children - don't want them to get knocked over. Lana listens well and understands when a timeout is needed (mostly due to over stimulation and needing a rest) and will willingly lay in her crate and will also just go there to rest. She gets really excited around young men so that leads me to believe that's who was possibly spoiling her. She does need to control her excitement and we are working on that. Lana likes toilet paper rolls so do not leave her alone with access to the bathroom!! She will unroll and eat the cardboard tube! Lana's a really sweet dog. Only damage done besides the toilet paper was to her doggie bed. But that was really my fault because I had to leave the house and did not check to be sure her toys were in the kitchen (where I block her in) before I left. Lana will adapt to your schedule easily. Instinct says she may do well with an older dog but definitely no small dogs/cats/animals. To begin the process of meeting her, please fill out our Adoption Application at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoptable-pets

Story
Spirit was found running loose in Pennsylvania and taken to a shelter. Obviously a new mother, the puppies were finally located, and the entire little family was surrendered to a shelter. Spirit is an energetic girl who is about two years old. She loves attention and to get pet. She is a quick-learner, especially when treats are involved! Spirit is crate trained, house trained and rides well in the car. She needs to be crated when home alone. Spirit can pull on leash, but does better on an Easy-Walk Harness. Her forever home will need to continue her leash training. Spirit does well with other male dogs, but not females. No cats or small animals for Spirit. She will be getting spayed soon. Spirit is looking forward to finding her forever home with lots of love and attention. If you’re an active family with lots of time to devote to this good girl, you and Spirit may be a match for each other! Apply to adopt Spirit today! Story
Goose is a friendly 1 and a half year old who will happily hop in your lap as soon as you sit down. He likes to meet new people and treats everyone like they’re his best buddy! Goose is a climber and a jumper. He will need at least a 5 ft. fence. He also loves to sit on chairs and play with boxes. Playing in water is also a major attraction for Goose, he loves the kiddy pool! Goose is crate trained and good in the car. Goose is house trained and will let you know he has to go out by pacing and crying. Currently, Goose needs to go out to potty every five to 6 hours. Due to his exuberant nature, Gooses would do best in a home with children thirteen or older. Goose is in a foster home with adult dogs and responds well to correction from his senior mentors. He also enjoys playing with dogs his age. Goose is an extremely high energy guy and will need a canine playmate in his new home. Goose plays rough and will need a companion who can match his energy. A combination of walks and play in a fenced yard will help Goose use up his bounty of energy. Goose will not do well on a tie out. Goose is very food motivate and can learn new tricks and routines when treats are involved. Goose weighs 53 lbs. Goose enjoys playing with toys, Kongs, Bene Bones, Nylabones and tennis balls. Unlike most Huskies, Goose is happy to play fetch. Goose cannot be placed with cats or other small animals. Goose is a sweet boy with a bounty of love to give! If you’re an active family with lots of time and energy to devote to a young dog, you and Goose may be a match for each other! If you are interested in possibly adopting Goose, submit DVSHR’s online Adoption Application here: https://www.siberianhuskyrescue.org/adoption-application Please email us at: info@siberianhuskyrescue.org with questions.
