Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 45 lbs Age: 10 months as of 8/15 Echo is a friendly, easy going and mellow pup, she loves to play with other dogs and adores her toys and bones. Echo was taken in by Wags after her family moved to another state and was unable to find a rental that would accept her. They were devastated, but wags promised to find echo a wonderful family who would appreciate such a special girl   Since she arrived at the rescue Echo has settled in  beautifully, she gets along with everyone and her tail never stops wagging.   Echo has had her vaccinations and has been spayed  and is a healthy and happy girl who will make a wonderful companion to the lucky family who adopts her.   Please note that Wags of Monroe county is a struggling 501(c) 3 volunteer organization where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Wags desperately need to raise funds to help the sick and older dogs at the rescue. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. For more information on adopting Echo or any of our other dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.comAugust 19, 2024, 7:04 am

Story
Meet Shadow. Shadow is a very sweet 9 yo husky Logan’s rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. She gets along well with all the other dogs. Young, old, big, small she is polite and friends with everyone. She has been good in our home and not destructive or a chewer. She does need frequent potty  breaks which I believe is due to being older and a breeder. Loves to be petted and will roll over and lay there forever. She doesn’t bark but will howl or husky talk in her kennel sometimes. Knows sit and comes when called. Listens well. Enjoys laying outside in a fenced in yard.  Shadow will be spayed on May 22, 2024 and will be ready for her forever home. She is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200.00. Story
Spirit was found running loose in Pennsylvania and taken to a shelter. Obviously a new mother, the puppies were finally located, and the entire little family was surrendered to a shelter. Spirit is an energetic girl who is about two years old. She loves attention and to get pet. She is a quick-learner, especially when treats are involved! Spirit is crate trained, house trained and rides well in the car. She needs to be crated when home alone. Spirit can pull on leash, but does better on an Easy-Walk Harness. Her forever home will need to continue her leash training. Spirit does well with other male dogs, but not females. No cats or small animals for Spirit. She will be getting spayed soon. Spirit is looking forward to finding her forever home with lots of love and attention. If you’re an active family with lots of time to devote to this good girl, you and Spirit may be a match for each other! Apply to adopt Spirit today! Story
Goose is a friendly 1 and a half year old who will happily hop in your lap as soon as you sit down. He likes to meet new people and treats everyone like they’re his best buddy! Goose is a climber and a jumper. He will need at least a 5 ft. fence. He also loves to sit on chairs and play with boxes. Playing in water is also a major attraction for Goose, he loves the kiddy pool! Goose is crate trained and good in the car. Goose is house trained and will let you know he has to go out by pacing and crying. Currently, Goose needs to go out to potty every five to 6 hours. Due to his exuberant nature, Gooses would do best in a home with children thirteen or older. Goose is in a foster home with adult dogs and responds well to correction from his senior mentors. He also enjoys playing with dogs his age. Goose is an extremely high energy guy and will need a canine playmate in his new home. Goose plays rough and will need a companion who can match his energy. A combination of walks and play in a fenced yard will help Goose use up his bounty of energy. Goose will not do well on a tie out. Goose is very food motivate and can learn new tricks and routines when treats are involved. Goose weighs 53 lbs. Goose enjoys playing with toys, Kongs, Bene Bones, Nylabones and tennis balls. Unlike most Huskies, Goose is happy to play fetch. Goose cannot be placed with cats or other small animals. Goose is a sweet boy with a bounty of love to give! If you’re an active family with lots of time and energy to devote to a young dog, you and Goose may be a match for each other!
