Story
HI - I'M CHARM! I'm a sweet and playful 1-year-old Lab-Boxer mix in need of a foster or forever home! I was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter, and originally came from a hoarding case. I'm a happy girl who loves people and other dogs. I weigh only about 50 lbs and would make a great dog for an active single person, a couple or a family with older kids. I would do well with another dog in the home. Please email for an application.

Story
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM HOLT! Holt is a 2-year-old Black Lab mix in need of a foster or forever home! He is a good, happy boy who is full of life, and still a puppy at heart. He is dog friendly, people friendly and affectionate! He is loyal, gentle and smart! While he loves companionship, he also can be independent and dignified. Holt needs an active person or people as he's quite athletic and will benefit from regular exercise, such as walks, hikes or runs. He pulls a bit on a leash but is easily corrected. He is a sweet boy, and weighs between 65 and 70 lbs approximately. Please email for an application. He deserves a home for the holidays!

Story
WOOF - MEET TEAK! Teak is a young and energetic red lab/pit mix in need of a foster or forever home! On paper he's 2 years old, but we think he's just a pup, around 1 to 1-1/2. Teak is an 80-pound happy boy who will benefit from some basic training and commands. He's a smart learner, and he needs someone who would love to help him transform into the best dog ever! He is learning slowly to walk on a leash, as nobody ever taught him before, so would do well with someone who has a backyard and room to run, while he gets up to speed. Teak was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter, and was one lucky boy to get saved. He's a handsome dog with a gorgeous red coat, and is always happy to see his person. He would also do well with an active person or people who can take him for hikes and other outings. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle lab/pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping 2025 is his year! Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. Please email for an application.

Story
Weight ~ 50 lbsCaprice is one of our dogs transported up from LA and she has a serious underemployment issue. She`s looking for a job in the herding, agility, scent work, dock diving, or flyball areas. She just wants to use those smarts she was born with, and also get her ya-yas out. When she`s not organizing your garage or balancing your checkbook, she just wants to hang out with you and watch Jeopardy, or veg out to a good rom-com. Caprice recently spent some time in a foster home, here is what they had to say about her: `She really loves looking out the window and people-watching. She also enjoys belly rubs, playing fetch, basking in the sun, and watching TV. She is super friendly with new people and warmed up to my roommates in no time. I will say, though, that she has a lot of energy, so my roommates and I try to walk her three times a day. When we walk, she tends to pull a bit at first, but once she gets a little tired, the pulling stops. She can be left alone for short periods, but she doesn’t love it. She knows basic commands like `sit,` `off,` and `gentle.` She is extremely smart and very trainable. Oh, and she also loves looking at herself in the mirror! She enjoys long walks and has no problem walking far. She is not food-aggressive at all and is very good about eating her food. She has shown some prey-drive on walks with small animals. She does well when putting on her harness and leash. When trying new things or visiting new places, she gets very excited and can be a little frantic at first, but after a while, she calms down. I think she needs a home that is very active and willing to take the time to get to know her and train her.`If you want a smart dog that`s also fun and sweet, call our adoptions desk or stop by during Browsing Hours: Wed-Sun 11-5.

Story
I was the luckiest guy on the planet in early May 2020 when I showed up to a Texan animal shelter and found a confused, doe eyed angel, only officially up for adoption for about an hour, looking back at me. His origin story is unknown to me, and his age was predicted to be "about four months old." Making his birthday roughly Jan 1st of 2020. He is the all American sweetheart lab retriever that you'd see in your dreams. He's an incredibly sweet, energetic, playful, and sincere dog who wants nothing more than adventure, companionship, and love. He gets along typically very well with other dogs, and is extremely trainable. I am far from perfect, and this is why I must rehome him. His dental hygiene needs work and routine, and in general he needs someone mentally healthy and financially stable enough to properly take care of him. He's mostly caught up on shots, just missing one or two. He is a golden ray of light on this planet and you will be truly blessed if you are his new companion.
