Story
Uhtred is a 3 year old Australian shepherd, neutered male. He was adopted at 4.5 months old and been with us since. He is very reactive, meaning he’s very high anxiety ridden. He would be a better fit for one who’s experienced with this breed and with reactive behavioral issues. He’s always on the look out for activities to do. He doesn’t do well with human males, not sure why, he’s been this way since we’ve gotten him and he’s not been comfortable around males since. We’ve tried to, but it gets to the point where I am nervous that he may retaliate, so I’ll put him in his safe place (usually my bedroom because that’s where he sleeps at night) If you’re curious about his name, we name our pets after shows we enjoyed, and his name came from the Vikings show. Thanks for checking him out and if he’s a fit for you, reach out.

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Portland, OR Meet Finn! He is an 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Finn is reactive to strangers and dogs on walks, so he will need continued training. He hasn’t been tested around children. No cats or children, due to his reactivity! The owner is requiring a meet and greet for any interested people who already have a dog. He has exhibited resource guarding in the past with cats, so that will have to be considered if he is adopted into a home with another dog. Finn loves to play fetch! He is very smart and enjoys puzzles and snuffle mats! He is sensitive to loud noises, such as fireworks or children screaming, so he will also need a patient adopter who can provide the training he needs. Finn is given trazodone and clomicalm for behavior modification. The owner is surrendering him because he chases and growls/snarls at their cat. If you think you can provide a great home for Finn, please contact the person listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Finn. Contact Information: Christina at hello@greatheartk9.com

Story
Meet Rocky, affectionately known as Chunky—a vibrant and spirited 3-year-old mini Aussie mix (possibly Pomeranian) who is searching for his forever home. This charming little fellow is more than just a pretty face; he’s a whirlwind of personality, bursting with energy and a love for companionship. Rocky thrives on the warmth of human connection, finding his joy in being close to those he adores. Whether he’s lounging peacefully at your feet or basking in the golden rays of sunshine outside, he embodies the essence of a loyal friend. Potty trained and crate trained, Rocky is a remarkable learner, eager to impress with his skills—he knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and he’ll happily chase after a ball, occasionally bringing it back with an infectious enthusiasm. With a spark of attitude, Rocky is in search of a strong, loving human to guide him, a partner who can embrace his spirited nature. He revels in the company of other dogs, delighting in their playful antics as they chase and frolic together. In his current home in Portland, Oregon, he shares his days with a lively pack of six mini Aussies, creating a joyful whirlwind of laughter and adventure. But watch out—as much as he loves to play, he can be a tad grumpy when it comes to sharing the bed or his favorite bone. He will need a strong human to understand his personality and work with him. Rocky would thrive best in an adult-only home, where he can shine without the hustle and bustle of young children. He’s been neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated—ready to embark on a beautiful new journey with a special someone who will cherish him for all that he is. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to fill your life with love and adventure, Rocky is waiting to fill your heart with joy! Rocky is being fostered in Portland, OR. Here is the appliction: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
In Fort Rock: Milo is an affectionate, slim, athletic, high energy youngster. About a year old, Aussie / BC mix I think. He is currently at 30 lbs. but still a little slim from his former life. He loves flying around the yard at top speed, chasing birds from the trees, and playing with other dogs of all sizes. He will require a secure fenced yard. He loves walks and hiking, good on leash with a harness. Milo loves belly rubs and attention, an incredibly sweet boy! He hasn't been tested around cats but he does have some prey drive. Also not tested around children, but his manners and obedience show that he should be fine. He sleeps best in an open crate. I think he would do best with another dog companion to play with and release his high energy. Name: Milo Age: About 1 year old Sex: Male Breed: Border Collie / Australian Shepherd Weight: 30 lbs Location: Fort Rock, OR Energy Level: High energy Relationship with Dogs: super - he LOVES to wrestle and chase! Relationship with Cats: Not tested Neutered: yes Crate Trained: Has spent half days in the crate without a problem, sleeps in open crate. House Trained: Yes (with the caveat that with his current extra food intake he's had a few overnight #2 deposits on the floor) Leash trained: Harnessed and does well. Fence Required: Yes! If Milo sounds perfect for you, here is the application:https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new fuever family
