Story
Annie is practically perfect in every way. She's the perfect size to fill in that extra gap on the couch, perfect with all dogs she's met from crazy puppy to cranky senior. Perfect smiling face and soulful eyes. Perfectly housetrained and crate trained. And the perfect mix of calm and gentle while also being playful enough to keep up with the foster puppies. This girl is truly a dream dog. Annie is estimated to be two years old and 32 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Sunday, July 21, 10am-12pm, Park Tavern, 3401 Louisiana Avenue South, St. Louis Park, MN 55426 https://www.facebook.com/events/765364432430312 Saturday, July 27, 12-2pm, Forgotten Star Brewing, 38 Northern Stacks Drive, Fridley, MN 55421 https://www.facebook.com/events/980356096833270 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. Story
If you are looking for a sweet 3.5 year old tricolored beagle then you are in luck. Rudy is ready for adoption and really is the greatest dog. He does have jealousy issues and has nipped and bit our 1 year old baby and that is why he is up for adoption. Prior to having our baby he had not bit before. He attends dog daycare once a week and is socialized around other dogs. He has not been by cats. He would come with 5 months of flea/tick and heartworm medication, probiotic, toys and dishes, food and a food holder, treats, collar, leash and dog bed. He is potty trained and loves to go for walks. Wanting him to find his forever home as he really is a snuggly, lovable guy.

Story
Butternut is a 6 month old Beagle.  She has the prettiest golden/tan eyes and pretty gray/cream/tan markings.   She spent her early months in a breeding environment and was recently released to rescue.  Typical of many breeder releases, Butternut is a little timid in new situations, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she is safe. She loves every animal she has ever met, and excitedly wags her tail whenever one is near.  This girl would play non stop if we let her! She is learning to walk on the leash, but has some work to do.  She gets so excited to go for walks, that she finds her way under our feet more than we would like. She would love a fenced yard to run in, but she does very well on a tie out, as long as she is able to see someone.  As soon as we are out of her sight, she barks. In the house, she enjoys exploring.  She can't reach the counter tops, but she definitely tries.  She isn't yet housetrained, but has only had a couple accidents.  She will potty outside if we bring her out regularly.  She has never soiled her crate. Speaking of her crate, she doesn't love going in.  She needs to be coaxed in, or sometimes just placed inside.  However, once she is in her crate, she is fine.   She sleeps quietly through the night, and has been left home in her kennel during the day for up to five hours without any issue. She doesn't chew on inappropriate things, and prefers to always have a toy nearby. Butternut isn't a fan of being held.  She would prefer to crawl next to you when she is ready for snuggles.  But she'll take pats and hugs anytime.   Typical of her breed, she uses her nose a lot.  She is very happy when exploring outside on little sniff walks.   If you are looking for a smaller breed that is smart, very loving, medium energy and highly entertaining, Butternut might be the perfect pup for you! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $625.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
Hi! My name is Joonie. I am from Kentucky. From her foster: Joonie is a sweet, friendly pup who loves to cuddle and play fetch and tug-of-war. She's always happy to see people and other dogs, and even plays with our cat nicely. She's good in her crate when we leave for short periods of time and can sleep in it as well. She is also great at snuggling up in the bed and sleeping quietly all night. Joonie is still working on potty training, but will go outside when you tell her to. As long as she's on a schedule, she does well. She is definitely part beagle with the typical howl at unexpected guests, but quiets down quickly. She's still learning to walk on a leash it is a very smart dog who catches on fast.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxI'm so very pleased to meet you!  I'm good with kids and love other dogs. I like to spend my days busying myself with toys and doggie chewies.  I like to stay active too by running and playing in the yard.  However, I usually fit a few naps into my day as well.  After all, who doesn't like a nap?  I'm learning what potty pads are and that I really should go outside to do my dirty business but it takes time to establish those habits.  I love to cuddle with my humans too. I'm searching for a fabulous forever home to share my life and love with! Do you want a great friend to join your family?  Well, adopt me and let's start making lasting memories together!  * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. I just joined my foster family and we are still getting acquainted with one another. So far, I have been a very easy, fun-loving girl! I am potty trained, crate trained, and know how to ride nicely in the car. I get along with dogs, cats, and all people, including kids! As my foster learns more about me, they will add more information here! Oakley is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2024, 8:31 am
