Story
Hello! They call me Thumper. I am a medium hair grey kitten who is quite bashful. I will come by you at night and will accept petting but Im still working on trusting people. I am 8 months old.I've learned while being in my foster home that the other kitties come to my foster family for affection. I say to myself Oh, I wish I could do that too. I watch and watch and guess what? I have started to come around and be closer to people in the past week. One day I got so brave I hopped on my foster Moms lap when she was watching TV. They call that baby steps but for a shy girl like me it's like one giant step.Maybe my new family will be understanding on my shyness and can understand that time & patience for me to come to you. I know you'll have a lap waiting for me.I started my life living in the backyard of a wonderful Chicago family. They took great care of our mom when they realized she was going to have babies. They brought us inside to be born. Thankfully, we were born there not outside where we had no way of staying warm or finding food. They then called my foster family who sees this quite often; so many homeless kitties and they continued to take care of us in a safe, indoor environment. I love to play with my siblings and the other foster family cats. In the beginning I was not quite a lap kitty and Im a bit scared of people but if you are willing to work with me, Im sure I will build a trust with you.Ill tell some secrets my foster Mom learned about me to build my trust. Classical music calms down and I LOVE Made by Nacho treats, well really any treats get this girl motivated!Know what I also love? My sister Po. You might have seen the pictures of me cuddling with a white kitty. That's Po. She's braver than me and I hope when a family comes to meet me, they can also meet Po and we go to our forever home together. My foster family has been so wonderful in taking care of me and my siblings. My other siblings have all found homes and now it's my turn. I haven't been around young kids or dogs. I might do ok if they don't scare me. If I get scared I might hide and run.I will get close to you during day if you have those treats nearby. Please consider adopting me with Po. That would be so nice if I could go with to my new home with one of my her as it will make the transition easier. You will fall in love with them instantly and we can be one big family! Thanks,ThumperThumper and Po are located in our foster home in Hanover Park. Good with cats,
Story
Hi, my name is Po, and I am 8 months old. My Mama was a Panda kitty and I look a lot like her. You can see how I got my name. I am one of five kittens from Pandas litter that was growing up in a Chicago familys backyard. We had a really nice enclosure that kept us warm and safe from Chicagos weather. The family took great care of us when they realize our Mama had babies. They provided us fresh food, litterboxes and the warmest spot to sleep away from the outdoor elements. They even reached out to a rescue so that foster family stepped in to care for us in their home.I am a short haired kitty girl with a grey tail, and I have some grey spots on my head. I look like my mom and I think I got my Mamas bravery. She had to be brave to be on her own with her babies coming any day. Im the bravest because as soon as I came into my foster home, I'm a friendly kitty and I like when people come over as I get to know them. I might seem shy at first, but I will sneak my way onto your lap.I like to lounge in a window seat, snuggle with my sibling or even with my foster familys cats. You might see some of my pictures with my sister Thumper. Who says sisters don't get along? Come on over to my foster home and you will see me & Thumper being BFFs. We hope that when we meet our forever family we get to stay together or maybe my forever home another kitty for me to snuggle with.My foster family has been so wonderful in taking care of me and my siblings. My other siblings have all found homes and now it's my turn. I haven't been around young kids or dogs. I might do ok if they don't scare me. Story
Hello, my name is Mother Nature, and I am about 6 months old. Can I tell you my story? It's a short story because I'm a young gal but my foster Mom says my story is going to continue because I have a family out there waiting for me.I was found as a stray, and I had a HUGE belly. I had babies in my belly, and they were ready to meet the world. Can you believe a young gal like me having babies? Neither could the shelter or Treasured Animal Rescue. So, I got settled in my foster home and sure enough, out came my 7 babies. I had no idea what I was doing and was so grateful my Rescuers helped me. My kittens were very small and sadly, some didn't make it. My Rescuers knew I was struggling to be a Mama and so they took over.I then got to be a young kitty girl; not a Mama and you know what? I love it! I love being able to have some take care of me and I get to roam around the house. In my foster home I have other cats and dogs I get to play with. There's one doggie here named Serena and we are friends. She's a big girl but size doesn't matter to me.I love to hang out in a cat tree or look out a window. But my favorite spot is where my foster Mom is. I love it when she's on the computer and I lie by her. She gives me an occasional belly rub. But watch out! I like to sit on the keyboard. Maybe I'm sending a message to you?I can't wait for my family to come meet me. I love to be held and if you have kitty treats - I'm hooked! Chicken is my favorite.Let's have a play date so we can start our friendship! Thanks,Mother NatureMother Natureis in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Hi there, my name is Mila and I am 3 years old. I'm a sweet, loving kitty that sadly was brought to a kill shelter. My other 2 kitty friends were brought there and they were going to have babies. The shelter put out pleas to a bunch of rescues and Treasured Animal Rescue learned about our arrival at the shelter and they said they'll help the Mama to be. But then the shelter said, there's a friend. I'm so glad TAR's mantra is never to leave a friend behind because I got that Freedom Ride.I'm in a foster home that has other cats and dogs. I'm ok with the dogs but boy, there are a couple here that bark a lot. Cats are much quieter! I like to hang out with the cats on our special tree but my favorite spot is with my foster Grandma. She doesn't know it but she's like the Cat Whisperer. Her office is really quiet and I like to lounge on her desk. When she's on the computer too long I try to give her the hint to take a break by rolling on her keyboard to be silly. I might be silly but what I'm really asking for is a belly rub!I was sad that I lost my family. They had no choice but bring us to the shelter because the Landlord said no cats but what a relief there are rescues like TAR that help kitties like us. We get to hang out in a foster home until a family comes to meet us.I'm a quiet girl. I like to be held and cuddle. And then there's my belly rubs. Love those!I hope one day I have a family again. A family that will never leave me in a shelter and will love me forever. I'm looking for my BF. Can that be you?xoxo,MilaMila is in our foster home in Aurora. Story
Hello! My name is Skittles, and I am 16 weeks old. I love to have playtime & run around. I am a fun kitten that loves just about anything. I like to climb up on your shoulders and check things out. If you are bending over (um cleaning my litterbox) I like to climb on your back. I'll give a scratch or two.I love to climb on things and explore. I have a kitty house that is so much fun and I have other friends that we play together. We all play together and then when it's time for our kitty naps, we make a big kitty pile, or I cuddle with other kitty friends. One day, I am going to be in a new home with my family and I hope I have a friend or two so I can play all the time. Can't wait to meet you!Cheers,SkittlesSkittles is in our foster home in Naperville.
