Story
Meet Thor! Thor is looking for a home where he can be the sole star of the show—he’d prefer a cat- and dog-free environment so he can soak up all the attention for himself. A laid-back and self-sufficient kitty, Thor is also a big fan of snuggling up with his favorite human for some quality cuddle time. He loves to purr as he gets his head scratched, and will happily play with feather toys for hours. Oh, and don’t forget about his love for gravy—this little foodie is a gravy-eating maniac! If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who enjoys his independence but also loves being pampered, Thor is the one for you! Stop in and meet his cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Hello there! My name is Jellycat, and I'm a shy and independent kitty on the lookout for a patient and understanding forever home. I may seem reserved at first, but with a little time and patience, I'm sure to warm up to you. I appreciate having my own space where I can feel safe and secure. Independence is important to me, but once I feel comfortable I like to follow you around the house. I am a look don't touch kitty though. I value my personal space! Some of my favorite things: -Being up high! I love cat trees and climbing wall furniture -I like to follow my humans around the house. I can't miss out on any adventures that might be had. -Chasing bugs -Meal time. I am a foodie! Jellycat is an All-Star cat! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Jellycat, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Meet Mrs. Claws, an adorable tortie with a heart full of potential searching for a home for the holidays! This sweet girl will be a bit shy at first, but with a little patience and a cozy blanket (her absolute favorite), she blossoms beautifully. Mrs. Claws is a cautious kitty who missed some early socialization, so she needs a calm, experienced adopter and a confident feline friend to help her feel at ease. Once she trusts you, Mrs. Claws will surprise you with her playful spirit-she loves spring toys and will even play fetch! She's known to cuddle up in blankets, make biscuits, and will approach you for gentle chin scratches on her own terms. She loves following the lead of other cats and quickly bonds with friendly, confident kitties who can show her the ropes. Mrs. Claws also enjoys observing the world from a sunny window, catching breezes, and listening to soft, soothing voices. With a peaceful home, lots of patience, and a furry companion, Mrs. Claws will be a loving, loyal friend who just needs a bit of time to find her confidence. Email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Meet Taylor, a playful female domestic shorthair with a strong independent streak. Taylor is good with other cats and enjoys engaging with humans through interactive play, especially with wand toys. She has a soft spot for lickable treats, which are the key to her heart! While Taylor is full of energy and fun, she is still learning to feel comfortable with physical touch and being picked up. At this time, she prefers to keep all of her paws on the floor. She's seeking a patient family who understands her boundaries and can help her grow in confidence at her own pace. With the right home, Taylor will continue to blossom and show her unique personality. Could you be the one to give her the safe, loving space she needs? Stop in and meet Taylor in person during our adoption hours or email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians. Ask fosters@ahconnects.org about fostering Taylor, while she waits for her forever home!

Story
August is a distinguished gentleman with a gentle heart and a special charm. At 14 years old, he's earned the right to a peaceful and loving retirement, and he's hoping to find a forever home where he can bask in affection and care. August is a shy and reserved cat, particularly around men. It's clear from his behavior that he may have been primarily cared for by a female in his previous home, as he seems more comfortable around women. His interactions are more frequent and relaxed when his foster's wife is present, though he has shown some courage by coming to see his foster dad at night. Despite his initial shyness, August is incredibly friendly once he gets to know you. He adores being brushed and scratched, and his affectionate nature shines through once he feels safe. August has severe cataracts, which means his vision is quite limited. He can see shapes but not much more. This makes him particularly sensitive to changes in his environment. His foster has noted that he gets anxious around strange noises, though he seems to get along well with their dog. Due to his vision issues, August's foster has kept him in an upstairs bedroom for his safety, as he may have difficulty finding his way around. Despite this, August showed his adventurous side by exploring the house when given the chance, though he did get a bit lost. August has a unique sleep schedule. He tends to sleep during the day and is most active during the night. He may meow for attention occasionally, but it's usually manageable and has become a part of his endearing quirks. August would thrive in a calm and understanding home where he can gradually adjust to his new surroundings. He would do best with someone patient who can offer him the time and space he needs to feel secure. A quiet environment with minimal loud noises and a safe, accessible space for him to navigate would be ideal. August's new family should be prepared for his nocturnal tendencies and appreciate the gentle companionship he has to offer. If you're looking for a sweet, senior cat with a lot of love to give, August might just be the perfect addition to your home. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
