Story
Hi, I'm Chloe, and I am so glad you are taking a look at me. I'm a sweet who can be a bit reserved, at first. I'm a cat who loves to sleep, eat, and snoop! I can be a bit nervous when new people come into my personal space, so I would love my future adopter to go slow with me. I love keeping my 4 paws on the ground. I would love a quiet home where I can be the only cat. My foster mom says: Her personality is still emerging. She was shy and aloof at first, but after almost two weeks, Chloe is now seeking affection. She loves cuddle time and scratches, even getting gently brushed for a short time. However, she gets startled if there is a noise or sudden movement and will run off. Chloe doesn't care for canned food much. She does love to chase a string and play with toys. I've made friends with every staff member and volunteer who's met me! Chloe is an All-Star cat! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Chloe, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Introducing Bison, the dashing tuxedo cat whose charm and playfulness are matched only by his loving nature. With his striking black and white coat and bright green eyes, Bison captivates everyone he meets. He's not just a cat; he's a beloved companion who thrives on affection and fun. Bison's playful spirit knows no bounds. He delights in chasing feather toys, batting at dangling strings, and even engaging in a game of hide-and-seek. His energy is infectious, and he never fails to bring smiles to those around him. What sets Bison apart is his gentle demeanor and his love for companionship. He adores children and eagerly joins in their playful antics. His affection extends to dogs as well; he's known to curl up beside them for a cozy nap or engage in a friendly sniff-and-paw game. In summary, Bison is not just a pet; he's a cherished member of his family who spreads happiness wherever he goes. Story
Meet Gravy, a beautiful gray, long-haired Nebelung mix who looks like a cross between a lion and a teddy bear, complete with adorable tufts of fur between his toes. Gravy's foster mom has nothing but praise for this sweet and well-behaved boy. He's a true lover, not a fighter, and thrives on pets and cuddles. An expert biscuit-maker, Gravy can knead with all four paws simultaneously while purring like a motorboat. His purring doesn't stop even when he's dozing off! Gravy enjoys a good nap-lap while you watch TV or work on your computer and is happy to nestle in bed with you all night without disturbing your sleep-no late-night meowing or face-whapping here. He's very well-mannered, stays off the kitchen counters, and uses his cardboard scratch pad for nail sharpening. He's also patient during nail trimming, doesn't mind being brushed, and allows his eyes to be cleaned without fuss. Though it takes him a little while to get used to new situations and people, once he overcomes his initial shyness, Gravy is gentle, calm, and affectionate. He loves being close to his favorite people and enjoys playing with stringy toys (noisy toys and balls can be a bit too scary for him). Gravy's purring machine is well-tuned, and he chirps like a bird when he has something to say. Gravy has food sensitivity and is on a non-prescription special diet. He's very good about using his litter box and came from a multi-cat household, so he might enjoy the company of another cat. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate companion, Gravy could be the perfect addition to your home. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Roger is what some might call a "slow to warm" cat. If you're an experienced cat owner looking for a challenge and a rewarding companion, Roger might just be the perfect match for you. He takes his time to trust and feel comfortable in new surroundings. However, once he settles in, he begins to reveal his playful and curious nature. Roger prefers the company of other kitties, finding solace and companionship in their presence. Roger's ideal home is with adults who understand the ins and outs of cat behavior and are patient and compassionate. He thrives in an environment where there are other cats to interact with, but he also needs a space where he can have his independence respected. For this reason, Roger is best suited for a home without children. Roger does have his quirks and understanding his boundaries and providing positive reinforcement can help him work through these behaviors. If you're considering welcoming Roger into your home, there are a few things you can do to help him feel more comfortable and secure: Patience and Understanding: Give Roger the time he needs to adjust to his new environment. Be patient with his progress and respect his boundaries. Positive Reinforcement: Use treats and praise to reward Roger for good behavior. This will help him associate positive experiences with human interaction. Provide Enrichment: Keep Roger stimulated and engaged with interactive toys and activities. This will help positively channel his energy and prevent boredom. For the right person or family, Roger can be a loyal companion. If you're willing to invest the time and effort into building a trusting relationship with Roger, you'll be rewarded with a playful and loving feline friend for years to come. Roger is an All-Star cat! My adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption! His adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and he will go home with a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! Story
Are you ready to open your heart to an extra special feline friend? Look no further than Max, a 3.5-year-old male cat with a heart of gold and a unique condition: moderate cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) is a neurological condition where the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for coordination and balance, is underdeveloped. This underdevelopment can lead to symptoms such as tremors, uncoordinated movements, and difficulty with balance and spatial awareness. Cats with moderate cerebellar hypoplasia can still lead happy and fulfilling lives, especially in homes where they receive understanding and supportive care. Despite his condition, Max is a complete love bug who adores snuggling up right beside you and purring contentedly. While he may not be the rough-and-tumble type, he's definitely up for some gentle playtime, especially if it involves receiving pets and cuddles. His CH may somewhat limit him, but he's far from letting it hold him back. He's a pro at using the litter box and has no trouble enjoying his meals. Plus, he's quite adept at getting around, although he does need to avoid stairs and any over-enthusiastic dogs who might try to chase him. This observant and gentle soul is fantastic with kids and would likely do well with other calm animals who understand his needs. Max is truly the master of the love flop, ready to give you all the affection his big heart holds. Reach out to us today to learn more about welcoming Max into your loving home! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon!
