Location: Minneapolis, MN Gizmo is the chillest dog in the world. I am questioning if he is possibly a cat? He purrs when you pet him or when he’s really comfortable and you can carry him with 1 arm! He will sleep for 20 hours a day if you let him. He rarely barks for such a small little dog, he seems to be too lazy and cold to waste his energy on being loud. His favorite spot is cuddled up with a fuzzy blanket in a laundry basket, as long as it’s warm! He can hold his own to big, annoying puppies, he is far too mature to play their little games. Location: Yankton, SD Franklin is a VERY, sweet boy that is full of love and cuddles. He is wonderful with dog of all sizes ( he just wants to be everyone's friend) and cats. Loves everyone he meets after a few minutes he is a little shy to start. He wants so badly to have someone to play with and is not picky on who that would be. Franklin currently sleeps with his foster and loves to be tucked into fussy blankets for bed . He is good at sleeping through the night (unless you get up to use the restroom then he will need to ask well). He is really good at being in his kennel to sleep if you prefer ( but he would choose to sleep with someone). Does not potty in the kennel. The current foster works 9 hour shifts and he does good in his kennel. Franklin has a medium energy level. Has not had to much time on the leash ( due to weather) he gets a bit to cold outside right now. Working on some potty training but for the most part does a good job outside potting. Franklin loves toys and bones ( with filling). Lola is the perfect lap puppy, she is your side kick weather you are sitting on the couch, doing dishes (she’s very good at helping you pre clean your silverware 😉) , going to the bathroom or doing laundry. No matter where you go she is your cheerleader and best friend ! Lola loves her little humans, bugging the cat to play and thinks she is mighty and tough with the bigger dogs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Chico! He’s a charming little guy who’s settling in wonderfully! He’s an affectionate snuggle bug who loves curling up on the sofa for cozy naps with his favorite person. When he’s not lounging, you’ll find him perched by the window, keeping a close eye on squirrels, birds, and the occasional bunny he seems determined to chase after. Chico tends to be protective of his person and will bark and get excitable around strangers, so slow intros are needed when meeting new people. In fact, if you'd like to meet this dapper fella, we feel a meet-and-greet at your home would be great so Chico is less territorial. Chico is crate-savvy and happily tucks himself into his heated crate when he’s ready to relax. Although he may protest at first, he settles nicely in his crate, whether during the day or for a full night’s sleep. He’s also doing well with his potty habits on a schedule. Since the weather has warmed up and he’s getting outside more often, he’s had no accidents in our home. He’s house-trained and has only marked once. Chico keeps his crate clean and dry overnight. Belly bands may be needed at meet and greets. We introduced Chico to our friends’ mini dachshunds this weekend with a slow and careful approach. While he wasn’t comfortable with them and needed to be separated, this helped us learn more about the type of home that would be the best fit for him. Chico may thrive as an only dog or in a home with a well-trained larger dog. This playful pup loves his toys and enjoys a good run. Check out this cute video of him with a stuffie toy! And here’s another cute video of Chico … he loves his toys! He’s recently neutered and still adjusting, which may explain his frequent attempts to mount our male dachshund mix (who is more than twice his size). Chico is very smart and is making progress in obedience training and has a lot to say! Because he’s quite vocal, he may be best suited for a home without shared walls. …. He just wants to please his human. With a little guidance, he’ll be the perfect companion for someone who loves snuggles, playtime, and watching the world go by together. He’s almost there with potty training—just a little more work and he’ll be all set. He loves walks, and will hold it as long as possible just so the walk will continue. Hassan loves to run … here’s a video . He will run like the wind with the 16 year old in the foster home, with such an exuberant smile on his face. With his perfect size and happy-go-lucky personality, he’s the ideal companion for anyone looking for a loving, playful pup. Hassan thrives on human contact and wants to be wherever you are. His biggest adjustment is being in a home without his sibling, but he’s making progress every day. He has all the endearing puppy traits, and his playful puppy-like energy will bring a smile to your face. Hassan can be a bit vocal when he’s in his kennel or when he’s craving attention, but that’s just his way of saying, "I want to be with you!" Because of this, no shared walls in his forever home.
