I am, however, always respectful of cats and good with other dogs so I will need a doggie companion when I go to my new home. Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. This is Buddy, and he can't wait to be yours! Buddy is a sweet young Chihuahua mix that started life off as a feral, until he was caught by a sweet and loving foster. Buddy got the good life after that! Spoiled with treats and given so much love he's developed into a great dog. He's a very friendly boy and does great with pretty much everyone. He would do best in a household with an active family. Buddy does tend to bark at smaller animals so he would do best in a household that doesn't have farm animals or other small pets. Game of Thrones fans??? Here I am, the KING!! And I SHOULD BE! Look at me!! Cute has NOTHING ON ME! Viserys and his siblings came to us after being found under a pile of lumber at a job site. 999 degrees outside and these pups were ALL alone and starving and scared. Viserys was very shy but has come out of his shell with fun and food. Still a little reluctant but warms up quickly and will be your best friend!! He tries to keep up with the other dogs, his little legs work really hard. Yes he is a LOWRIDER!! It may be hard to tell with his pictures but YUP, he is low to the ground and he carries it well :D He is a Super cuddler! He just melts into your arms. Warm heart big hugs. Plays very well with big and small dogs. Timid when big dogs come right at him but he can dodge them pretty well. Then goes in for more. Doing well with potty training. Doesn't mind being by himself or with others. Very easy going. READY HIS FUREVER HOME!!! He is a little scruffy faced too! Now, two of his siblings had their DNA's done by adopters and as you can see... CHIHUAHUA?? and CATTLE DOG??? YUP! We call it STREET MIX because so many dogs roam and mate in SA :(:( but it does make an interesting match. I'm learning quickly that I'm surrounded by caring humans, and each day, I'm opening up a bit more. I’m learning so much and starting to come out of my shell. I like having fun with toys, ropes and bones.  I just love playing and also treats.  Every day there seems to be new things to discover and explore. I am showing my people that I am a very smart girl and recently learned the word "sit." I know we will learn so much more together! There are young kids here at my foster home and we have a good time together, too, because they understand my boundaries and are gentle towards me.  Younger kids who are loud and move quickly would not be a match for me.  I do well in my crate and am working on potty training but do well with a good schedule.  We have started practicing leash walking and I am a work in progress. If you promise to keep working with me on leash training, I don't need a fence in my forever home.  I do well with all other dogs (I do prefer the smaller ones) and would benefit from having a confident and social dog in my forever home to help me learn to trust and get on a routine.  Patience is the key as I continue to learn and build trust. I may be a Pom mix weighing in at a petite 15 pounds, but my personality is larger than life. At home, I'm sweet, gentle, and playful—a true good girl through and through. I'm still learning to trust humans, so meeting new people can make me a bit shy. But once I warm up to you, I'm all about those cuddles and scratches. Oh, and chin and back scratches? Count me in! When I'm not snuggling up next to my foster mom, you'll find me napping in cozy dog beds or tearing up the backyard with some epic zoomies. I absolutely adore playing with other dogs, and I'm always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. While I'm crate trained and ride like a champ in the car, I feel most comfortable in an x-pen or gated area when left alone. Oh, and did I mention I'm a fantastic mama? I raised six adorable puppies like a boss! But those days are over and I’m ready to be the center of attention. Although I'm still working on leash training, I'm getting better every day. I'll need a fenced yard and a patient owner who can help me build confidence and continue my training. When it comes to grooming, I'm a trooper. I did great at the groomer for my bath and nail trim, even if the dryer was a bit scary. And I'm totally cool with daily brushing sessions at home. Sure, I may bark at strangers or get a little spooked from time to time, but deep down, I'm just a sweet and loving girl looking for my forever home. And if you have other furry friends, no worries—I get along great with cats and dogs alike. I may have some hurdles to overcome, but watching me blossom and grow more confident is truly something special. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a girl like me, let's make it official! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love.
