Story
Meet Bruce, a dog with a heart full of love. This friendly fellow has a personality that will brighten your day. He's independent, living life on his own terms, yet always ready for a friendly pat. His goofy antics are sure to bring a smile to your face, while his gentle demeanor makes him a calming presence. Despite his age, Bruce has a zest for life that is infectious. He is not just a pet, but a companion, a friend, and a source of unconditional love. Adopting Bruce means inviting joy, laughter, and a loyal friend into your life. Give Bruce the loving home he deserves. Bruce has a history of separation anxiety and will need some extra special care to feel comfortable in his new home. Because of this, we are recommending that any children in his new home are age 5 or older and are requiring that his new family commit to continuing his behavior medication while he adjusts to his new environment. He also prefers a single animal household so we are requiring that there be no other cats or dogs in his new home. He will also not be allowed to visit dog parks.Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promo Applies

Story
Charlotte is a sweet, gentle lady looking for her new home. She is house trained, enjoys short to medium neighborhood walks, car rides, and cuddling with you. She loves to be nearby her people and will give you gentle kisses when you pet her. She knows sit, down, and wait and has started to learn "shake", too. Charlotte's favorite things are belly rubs, playing ball, going for car rides, and going for walks. Be aware that she loves to deconstruct her stuffed toys, so keep stuffed animals out of her reach unless you want a stuffing surprise! She walks nicely on leash, very little pulling. Charlotte spent a weekend with two of our foster volunteers and they learned that she is a low to medium energy dog with polite indoor manners. They shared, "When you are in the kitchen, she is nearby - but not underfoot. When you are on the sofa, she will be by your side. If you are snacking on the sofa, a gentle "no" will keep her from sneaking a bite off your plate. She is a happy dog who will sleep curled up in bed with you." They created a video so you can learn more about her, so be sure to click on the video link or scan the QR code on her habitat at Placer SPCA. Charlotte can be fearful in new spaces, so we are recommending that any children in her new home are age 10 or older so they can understand her needs. She can be selective with other dogs, so we are requiring that a dog introduction be completed prior to adoption. She may not visit dog parks.***Check out my video by clicking "play" under my photos!***Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promotion Applies.

Story
Need a little spice in your life? Pepper is your girl! She is the sweetest dog around and would love to bring her bright and shining personality to a new forever home. Pepper has some weight challenges but we have found that she is fun loving and energetic. Her handlers here at the shelter have even taken her on short runs which she participates in with great enthusiasm. She would love to have an active companion who will play with her and encourage a healthy lifestyle. She is house trained and leash trained, and loves to show off her favorite toys to her favorite people. Pepper is patient and kind. She can be selective of the other dogs that she shares her space with so we will be providing dog introductions to potential adopters who already have a canine companion at home.Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promotion Applies

Story
Rock Star is a fun, playful, happy, tail-wagging, ball-chasing boy! He keeps his room clean at the shelter, and loves joining his volunteer friends for his twice-daily neighborhood walks. This sweet dog is always wagging his tail... when he walks, he wags his tail - when you pet him, he wags his tail - when you toss him a ball, he wags his tail - when you look deep into his eyes and tell him how handsome he is, he wags his tail. He is also happy to show you his "sit" and his "down". The volunteers love to toss balls for him to chase, and scratch him behind the ears while he chews on his toys. So grab a tennis ball and come on down to meet Rock Star. He doesn't have the best manners with other dogs, so we are requiring that he goes to a single dog home and he should not go to dog parks. ***Check out my video by clicking "play" under my photos!***Adoption fee: WaivedMonthly Promotion Applies.

Story
Belle of the Ball? Or perhaps, "Bella! The Ball!"Bella recently charmed everyone on a trip to a volunteer's home. She hopped into the car with ease and showed impeccable manners, even when french fries were on offer. At home, Bella explored the backyard, made a quick pit stop, and then toured the house, settling in quickly. She adapted seamlessly to the family's rhythm. The highlight of Bella's day? Tennis ball fetch! She eagerly awaited each throw, staying close and ready for more. While her human companion worked on the computer, Bella patiently waited with a tennis ball, ever ready to play. Bella loves carrying a tennis ball or soft toy during walks, prancing proudly with her prize. However, she prefers to be the only dog in her new home and is still learning to share her favorite toys, so any children should be 10 or older. Our Behavior Team will provide a consult to discuss her individual needs.Ready to make Bella your one-and-only? She's ready to bring joy and fetch games to her forever home!Monthly Promotion AppliesAdoption Price: $150

Story
Dexter spent a weekend with two of our foster volunteers, and it was all it took to see what a calm, sweet, affectionate, playful, happy, and gentle companion he is. He is house-trained, enjoys short to medium leisurely neighborhood walks, car rides, golf cart rides, and cuddling. He is a low to medium energy dog with polite indoor manners. When you are on the sofa, he will be by your side. He is a happy dog who will sleep curled up in bed with you. Once he settles on your bed, he stays still for the night and wakes up when you do.Dexter gives the best "boxer" hugs when you come home and shows the happiest wiggle butts when he sees the leash-he loves his people and going for walks. Dexter knows sit, down, shake, and wait. He offers his paw for a shake, will sit and wait at the door before each walk, and sit for his food dish. He sat right next to our foster volunteers on the sofa while they ate breakfast, watching the morning news, and never tried to sneak a bite of their meal.Dexter may be shy and aloof during his first visit with you in the shelter, but it only took 24 hours in our volunteer's foster home for Dexter to completely turn around and become a tail-wagging, butt-wiggling love bug. Please watch his video to see this transformation between his behavior in the shelter and at home. Dexter becomes playful and happy if you are patient and give him the chance to become comfortable. He loves belly rubs, playing fetch, car rides, golf cart rides, and walks. He is well-behaved in the car and stays in his seat, enjoying putting his nose out of the window when it is rolled halfway down for him. Dexter does seem shy of new things and new people, but patience, praise, and treats will win him over. Now he loves golf cart rides! We recommend any children in his new home be age 10 or older. Dexter may do well with other dogs in his new home with a slow introduction. Adoption fee: WaivedMonthly Promotion Applies
