Story
Lucky was surrendered to Brave after his owner could no longer take care of him. Lucky is an energetic guy who loves long walks (1-2 miles), but is also happy to curl up and nap most of the day. Lucky does well with older children, pre-teens and teens. He is not comfortable around younger children, especially if the environment is busy or chaotic. Lucky is the perfect dog for someone looking for a companion to watch movies with all day. He comes with a wardrobe - hand-made sweater, and raincoat and fleece, which can be combined as a parka. He also has a kennel, dog bed and sofa blanket as well as a harness and leashes.  House trained: YesLeash trained: YesKennel trained: YesRides well in a car: YesGood with other dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with young children (under 10):No, prefers older less rambunctious kidsShy or confident: ConfidentBarks:At dramatic noises outside, or if he hears or sees other dogsApartment qualified: YesHealth concerns or special needs: Heart disease improved with medication, and subsequent narrowing of the bronchi, also well supported by medication. Story
This is Mabel. Mabel loves. Where you are, she is. You will never be alone. Ever. But Mabel is sassy. She likes to punk the other animals in the house by jumping out at them for no apparent reason. At first, we thought she was bullying. No, she's just jump-scaring them for her own amusement. Mabel is a snuggle bug. She is potty trained and only has accidents when her foster mother misses the cue to go outside. She is a size XS/S and is even tinier than she looks. She loves cuddling with a 7 lb Chihuahua (he's the big dog in that cuddle puddle). Would you like a little princess to sweeten up your life? Requirements to adopt Mabel: *Experienced small breed dog owner with excellent veterinary reference *No children under age 12 as she is tiny and we don't want her to be dropped or injured by a well-meaning child *Commitment to regular grooming (every 6-8 weeks) to keep her coat from becoming tangled Mable is a Toy Poodle who was was born approximately 3-3-13 and weighs 6 lbs. She has had multiple teeth extracted during a dental procedure and requires to be fed a soft food diet. She has a collapsing trachea that doesn't seem to bother her much, but will need monitored as she ages. Mabel is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $250 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. Story
Fiona the Lemon Beagle is most comfortable around other dogs and wants to run and play with them. She has made many big steps on her new journey after a life of breeding in a puppy mill. She will take pets in her kennel but not outside of it yet. She has been brave and taken a treat from her foster mom's outstretched hand. She loves to drag all the toys and blankets outside. Fiona has been spending more time out of her kennel but is still hesitant of getting too close. She needs a home with another dog that is mostly calm and will be a companion to her as she learns to become a happy & confident dog. She is going to need a person with much patience and time to work with her. Fiona cannot live with children as they would frighten her. She also fears most adults and will need constant reassurance and gentle guidance. She continues to get more comfortable each day. Requirements for Fiona include an experienced dog home with excellent veterinary reference; experience with a mill dog a plus; secure fenced yard, another gentle dog companion in the home; no young children as they will frighten her. She does not walk well on a leash as that is completely new to her. She is scared of pretty much everything, people, noises, etc.... but making great steps and getting braver every day! Fiona is a female Beagle born 3-27-23. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
