Story
We need to rehome our three year old dog because we have a new baby with a lot of medical needs. We are not able to give her the time she needs to work with her and play with her. She is very high energy, eager to please, and wants to love on you. She is formally trained (certificate will accompany her upon adoption), knows commands like 'place, sit, stay, wait, etc.' She knows to sit before going through a doorway and a few other things. She needs a lot of exercise and is very high energy, we just don't have the time to dedicate to her like she deserves, nor will we for the foreseeable future. She has run through the baby's oxygen line several times, even trying to block it off, and is causing injury to him, so we need to find her a new home. She is good with dogs, cats, and the baby, loves being a lap dog and is crate trained. Crate, bed, toys, vet records will all go with her. It isn't what we wanted, but we didn't anticipate the current situation.

Story
Darwin is  5 yeas old and is a foxhound/coonhound mix. who weighs about 50 pounds.  Darwin is a gentle dog who scares easily. Loud sounds, abrupt movements he is not familiar with terrify him. He likes to be around anyone who shows him love, affection and that he can trust them. Once he feels secure Darwin loves to play, relax, eat, and follow his nose, so a fenced yard is a must. Because of his fears Darwin would be the best fit in a calm, routine, mature home. He is good with other dogs we actually recommend him to have a doggie companion. Darwin is housetrained and a goofy loving dog. Darwin is healthy and fully vetted, he is Heartworm positive, and we are covering his treatment and cost, so he is ready to go to his forever home! Please be aware, Hounds require daily exercise and mental stimulation. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. Story
Henry is a hound mix, only 1 years old and weighing 58 pounds. This loveable hound is good with other dogs, cats and kids. Henry is shy and has to warm up to new people . Once he has that trust he turns into a goofball and plays.  He is not a chaser but he does need a lot of exercise. On walks he gets excited to see other dogs since he wants to play. Living with another dog would be ideal for Henry. This boy is very easy going, a gentle companion who should have a fenced yard since hounds follow their noses and escape; we prefer a hound experienced household.  His foster writes: "Henry is a very playful hound. He is a love mush but needs to be exercised. A little tense around food after being starved but has done so much better than when he first arrived." If you love the sweetness and closeness of hounds and can provide a secure active home, this hound is for you. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog’s description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Toby Roby: 11 years old, 20 pounds, Miniature Pinscher This senior is a  perfect match for a mature household that wants to pamper a little dog. Toby Roby is housetrained, crate trained, fine with dogs and cats (except when eating), good on a leash and overall well mannered. He does have 'get up and go' so if you don't have a fenced yard he would need several walks a day. Toby's adopter must be familiar with food guarding. This gentleman is good natured except around food and treats: he gets possessive, therefore no kids. He does not want to be disturbed. His foster writes, "Toby is a very sweet boy, but it takes him a little while to warm up. When it’s food time, he jumps up in the air until you set the bowl on the ground, then beware of approaching this little bugger! After meals he returns to his sweet self. " Toby loves to sleep on the couch pillows and going under the bed covers. He just needs time to adjust to to enjoy his meals in private. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog’s description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
